Netflix has released the entire 12-episode series. I don't binge-watch generally, but I've seen the first episode so far and it's pretty good.
Obvious (to me, anyway) that the story is by the same guy who did GeGeGe no Kitaro, and that's even before you notice that Akuma-kun's sidekick is voiced by the same actor who played Nezumi Otoko in the latest Kitaro iteration. And the normal human girl who came to Akuma-kun for help is voiced by the same actress who played Inuyama Mana. |

What a hidden gem! Akuma-kun is really a story about family and friendship. Yes Ichiro is an annoying protagonist, but he does progress. Definitely worth a watch.
At the end they suggest that there could be another season. It clearly has no audience here in the US that I can see, but maybe it's doing better in Japan? Mizuki is, after all, a beloved figure.
