We have to make presumption that Iris doesn't know how to fight. She is raised as a lady, but she is surrounded by fighters. Megumin merely tutor Iris to be naughty. Iris's curse words hurts the street thug's feeling, and he is crying. So, Kazuma becomes his punch bag. The situation would embarrass Iris. She is about to pick a fight. Then, she is taking bath with Darkness.

So, you are sure Iris can put up a good fight. It also makes sense. The capital is facing attack from demon army frequently. Under constant threat, many champions and heroes are married into the royal family. You think the skill is in her gene. It makes sense because it is anime.

Also, bear in mind that she'd up to that point lived in the palace with bodyguards at her side 24/7, bodyguards who clearly maintained that there was nothing remotely inconsiderate of her talking down to those below her on the social ladder and that even challenging her biased and ignorant judgments was worthy of their sword. She's never faced a "fight" that she couldn't win from her understanding and probably had never really been taught to show respect to anyone except for the greatest heroes and the highest nobility. Given that, it doesn't seem all that odd that she'd make some scathing remarks toward those around her, especially if encouraged by Megumin. |

Literally the worst time for Kazuma and Iris to get back into their original bodies...Iris looking down to see her Eldest Brother stripped her, Kazuma having to run from sensitive thugs. I guess Kazuma really let the lavish palace lifestyle get to his head, especially when he has to get scolded by Aqua .
Claire saying "Konosuba" like she's trying to kill someone Kazuma still doesn't want to join up with Chris, but finding out how dangerous the Sacred Treasures can be if they're let loose on the world, especially when Iris is involved, finally spurs him into action . Chris and Kazuma look great in their thief outfits! They're really dressed for the part! And once they settle on what to call each other after a rock-paper-scissors- game, they're excellent partners in crime! Though also liable to screw each other over when Kazuma gets too close and personal and Chris yells to reveal them . It's time to face off against Claire and Rain! And time for Kazuma and and Chris to show off their magic! And knowing Iris needs him is enough to pull out Kazuma in Top Condition! And he's basically unstoppable! And cackling like a supervillain ! Kyouya finally knows how to avoid Steal! But not much else! But he is a good distraction . Of course Kazuma and Chris had to run into the one person who would easily recognize them...Darkness. Oh, and Megumin, who just thinks they look cool (especially Kazuma). But hey, at lest Darkness got some bondage out of it . Iris looks cute raring to fight, but the Final Boss is really...drunk Aqua! Who is only fighting for more bubbly! And she's unstoppable but at least they DO manage to steal something...just not what they were after, but Iris' ring. Which when taken by someone else is practically a proposal of marriage . Now Darkness gets to take credit for exposing the Sacred Treasure and Kazuma has to live as being seen as completely useless...but at least Iris is a fan! Of Chris! Oh wait, Kazuma still has Megumin ! I didn't have Iris and Megumin about to throw hands over Kazuma on my bingo card, but all power to them . Kazuma thinks he lost his shot with the Iris route, but she fullly realized who he was and is ecastict at the prospect of marrying him if he beats the Demon King. He better keep that ring close !

I've been waiting for this, nice to see Kazuma finally let loose after the rest of this arc. Although it probably is better for everyone else that Kazuma is lazy rather than ambitious after what he did to all the guards.
Of course Aqua has to get in Kazuma's way, and still crazy that Darkness is the reasonable one this arc with how she recognized them. At least this artifact has finally been dealt with and while Kazuma's reputation is still like that, he has the personal satisfaction of knowing what he can do. Well, him and Chris and Iris. |

The questionable divine item is confirmed in the palace. Chris explains that the item could be used for nefarious reason. It is odd that a goddess would grant such item to anyone. Considering Aqua was the gatekeeper between Earth and isekai, it could be possible. She probably think granting such item to a Peeping Tom is harmless. In the last episode, Kazuma appreciated the thought of that Peeping Tom. Only a goddess or the grantee of the divine item can use it for the full potential. It is still dangerous when used by nobles with bad intention. The story after the ending credit proves Chris is right. Kazuma reluctantly agree to help Chris. Kazuma calling Chris oyabin makes her upset. After all the havoc they raised in the palace, the humiliated government vows to capture them. Kazuma is too scared to stay in the capital, since he doesn't want to be confined for life. Kazuma shows his ability when required, even the forbidden skill he learned from a demon. It is probably having strong ally like Aqua would nerf his luck.
When a palace guard asks about their identity, Kazuma shouts out "Silver Hair Thief syndicate. Chris shouts out "Mask Thief Syndicate". Neither one wants to be association with their traits. Their disguises are not bad. Only Darkness and Iris can see through their identity. Spoiler for speculation:

I loved how he was about to reveal he was the thief when he thought Iris had figured out his identity and had a newfound admiration for him, only to have his hopes dashed when she revealed she was talking about Chris. Or so we were led to think... she actually did know everything! And I'm pretty sure she even believes Kazuma intends to marry her since he (inadvertently) stole her ring. That was a really fun arc. Waiting to see what the rest of the season has in store for us.

Truly a delightful arc, got lots of fun with Chris (definitely second best after Megumin in my book, but still an awesome girl). Figures that the only one with enough luck to beat him in Rock Paper Scissors would be her, though it's frankly the first time her fortune has won out against him.
The little bit at the end is simultaneously a common trope in fairy tales and a nice twist, having the tradition of granting the princess's hand to the man who saves the kingdom but making it clear that the one expected to do so already has her blessing. Part of the reason I liked Iron John over most fairy tales: one of the few where the girl herself declares that she too desires the union. Of course, in this case I suspect when he defeats the Demon King there will be another girl he wishes to be with, even if it means carrying her back home every day. |
