just wondering, what are they going to do about the names and release commands of all those zanpakutou which, for those who understands japanese or chinese, make up a big part of theoverall coolness of bleach?

kyoka suigetsu doesn't mean anything in english, yet translating 鏡花水月 to mirror flower water moon is like translating 臥虎藏龍 to crouching tiger hidden dragon, or 花天狂骨 to flower heaven crazy bone, the essence of the original idioms are all lost. things like 黒縄天譴明王 for example, are they really gonna say the whole "kokujo tengen m...something something"?

Kokujou Tengen Myo-oo (but "Black robe heaven's rebuke Bright King" would probably be even more cumbersome). We'll just have to wait and find out what they do (though I have a feeling they'll keep the Japanese names).

And the English dub aleviated one of my main fears about the series's broadcast, the loss of the openings & endings (ala Naruto). What a relief (hope they rotate them as well).

Is this airing on Canadian TV too? I saw that in the lower-right hand corner it says "Bionix" and YTV's got a Friday Bionix block late at night. I'm SOOOOOO confused.

Anyways, Rukia's voice could use more enthusiasm. So mundane.

not bad... Rukia's alright not great but one of the better dubs...
Ichigo's VA works too... although i chuckled at how he pronounced Karin

Not too bad so far... to be honest this show only really has 2 of the main characters in the series, so I hope they don't screw up everyone else's voices. Like Chad.. since he talks so much.

Kon sounded weird but that's easy enough to get used to.

Well it did air this past Friday and U.S. got a dose of Bleach the day after. I cant believe you missed that.

it was a decent dub.....pretty good actually, rukia's voice is all right....nothing bad, except for Kon's voice.....we gotta hear more of it as episodes go on....and YES ATLEAST THEY DID NOT ALTER THE OPENING AND ENDING....wwwwwooooo thank goodness for that!!
i am for sure getting the DVD's when it comes out in November...anyways it will include the original japanese!!

Now this is interesting. Who would've thought that Michelle Ruff is the VA for Rukia. I saw last night at Adult Swim and I say the voices were pretty good

He does the "next episode" bit at the end of the first episode. I thought his voice was slightly annoying, but Kon's Japanese "voice" is annoying as well - so I thought it was a good job of casting.

Overall I thought it was a thumbs up - if more dubs had this kind of quality, I'd be a much happier person.

I think that the voice actors are much better than many that could have taken the role...at least IMO the voices suit the characters.

Well, Michelle Ruff did the English voices for Aoi Sakuraba from Ai Yori Aoshi and Chi from Chobits. So I'm pretty sure she would do just fine.

I was really, REALLY pleased with the job that was done with BLEACH. I always had hope but it exceeded my expectations. It pushed the DVD into a "buying" catagory. I always thought Ichigo's voice was a little too deep for a 15 year old in the Japanese.
