Hey man! That show looks COOL. I even had the theme song for it stuck in my head for like a day or two.

Spoiler:

Over-all the Second Series wasn't as good as the first series, but it was a task that was never going to be easy. The anime original episodes didn't feel too great, especially when they were filler, but that doesn't matter too much. It was entertaining and I can't wait for the 3rd (if they do it, which is rather likely).

All in all, not enough Suga.

On one hand, I delight in this episode because of the character development (as I see it) of Yakumo. I may be reiterating myself, but kindly bear with me.

We learn from Japanese history that Japan from even its beginning was already deep-seated in shamanism and belief in the supernatural, and one can also argue that the ghost was a representation of the more simplistic desires of Yakumo or her id. One can then say that it is a very symbolic form of Yakumo's soliloquy.

From this we can infer that at the least she likes Harima; however, she stifles it for the sake of Tenma, who is prioritized by her despite her interests and her desires. If this is true in any way, it can be seen as a great self-sacrifice of Yakumo - but this is only one of many assumptions, and yes, it is skewed towards an Onigiri relationship.

As for the issue of rejoice with the coming third season, I'm not too happy compared to some people here - oftentimes (if not all the time), an increase in episode number would connote a decrease in series quality, and I don't approve of the cop-out with the use of amnesia to reset the progress that was about to happen (or already had).

And although I'm quite saddened that it had to end like this (with very little resolution), I won't mind a third season if it focused on character progression; otherwise, it will simply become another farce (and I've already had too many) and a travesty of good anime, IMHO.

If Jin writes his manga for the sole purpose of mulcting money out of avid fans, eventually it will become uglier and less passionate - and judging from the comments of manga readers here, it already has.

Note that despite being an Onigirist, I don't mind an ErixHarima or a TenmaxHarima ending given some definite plot progression and a decent amount of character development. Fun and games may make one happy, but those alone would make any anime fail - an anime needs much more to be even deemed great.

The second season in general has disappointed me - I hope that if Jin ever reads this - if - he'd knock some sense into that mind of his to plan for the end of the manga and put a lot more development and a lot more resolution. Otherwise, it's just a gay cop-out for him.

(It would be a great plot twist if he ends with Onigiri, however. )

I don't know much about Japanese history, but I'll as much agree to how the ghost represents part of Yakumo's thoughts and consciousness.

The way she puts it certainly implies so, considering how her decision made after meeting with the ghost had been affected by factors such as the story, her past with Tenma as well as her knowledge of Harima's feelings for Tenma. If you think about it that way, it does seem to be a great sacrifice.

While it virtually marks the start of another season, the reset had me somewhat disappointed to. I thought they could have came up with a better way as to how Tenma would react in accordance with her second meeting as well as Hentai-san's true identity. IMHO, the third season should have another pinch of seriousness added in, because the anime's main genre would comprise that of humor and romance, so just a little bit more of seriousness would be appreciated...at least by me.

It's up to him, really. A few opinions here and there can help, but it also depends on how he wants everything to develop...Which I hope would be satisfactory in the future too.

Gotta say i'm so disappointed in the ending,
Spoiler:

I hope the mangaka finishes the manga before they announce a "season 3", then again would there be enough material to expand it to 26 episodes? probably half of it fillers it to be expected.

I believe at this point we have (in the manga) enough for alittle more then half of a full 26 or so.

To counter ... a sort of "oh KJ you ugly capitalist pig, squeezing our pocket change" approach:
Lets talk in theory
If all three seasons were consecutive... none of the "last" episodes for any season would be there... beyond the canon material used in them (like the library book skit). Now would anybody claim KJ was all about making money in this scenario? Just because we went beyond 52 episodes??

Surely some of us... Like I who saw Mahoraba and then read it to the very end, wish the anime side actually made it or followed on toward the real ending... Same with Fruit Baskets...
[I]End theory talk[I]

I'm glad, and a happy camper. Because it means the folks who produce the anime version and work with KJ, respect his work enough to not just cut it down before its even finished. Some parts of the manga were well done and some not so well done in the anime work, but I believe a lot of manga readers just love seeing KJ's work reproduced in another form. I hope it continues, cause the anime has sometimes done a great service to where the manga didn't put much emphasis (Like the Tenma in Yakumo-disguise scene). These moments are just too good to pass up.

As I posted before on a previous episode... 2nd season manga is kinda short. And uh unfortunately much of the filler was there in hopes of stretching the 2/3's worth season into a full 26. I never cared much for this since it was obvious it was a sign that 3rd season was going to be a go.

It's pretty obvious that a third season is in the works.

I get the feeling that the second season was just to draw out the
story as long as they possibly could.

I like the series and story but it's getting a little fatiguing at times.

i completely agree with physics, this show has been ruined because the writer refuses to grant a resolution. The show shouldnt even be called school rumble anymore... it should be called "masterpiece anime that was destroyed due to money hungry bastards" Now i wouldnt be complaining if the first season wasnt so incredible... if the first season was mediocre i could care less... but when a show is just sooo amazing and then sinks into a pile of crap... it just hurts...

o well... i guess midori no hibi still owns the crown for greatest comedy-romance anime IMHO.

kare kano was perfect but then episodes 19 - 26 were animated by 4 year olds, Ai yori Aoishi was perfect form episodes 1 - 4 and then filler killed it but eps 21 - 24 was awesome, but the sequel was horrendous. Both kare kano and AYA were great but too flawed.

Midori no Hibi on the other hand was just so fufilling... funny as hell, touching, and dramatic. just wonderful.

Hm. I like how they ended it with room for another season, but the ep seemed so-so.

I have to say I disagree with the people who don't like the story dragging on. I watch School Rumble because it's fun to watch. While it'd be nice to see a resolution to the story in my anime-watching lifetime, I could honestly care less. The story's not what hooked me. While there have been some awesome flag chapters out there that could have been good points to end the story, as long as the author can keep the humor and situations fresh no matter how many different ways he has to dress the same ingredients, I'll keep watching and reading.

Even though the second season isn't as good as the first season, it still makes me laugh. And, the second season is still pretty decent, considering that the main reason for the relative mediocrity of second season is that there are many filler episodes required in order to make 26 episodes. I give 7/10 for the second season.

Hold it, Harima confessed he was that "Mr Pervert" and all that happened was Tenma forgetting about it? By the way things go, School Rumble could possibly be the Japanese equivalent of The Simpsons and go on forever.

It's true the 2nd season wasn't as good as the 1st one. But then again when the standards are set high its very hard to overcome it. Although, 2nd season was actually enjoyable to watch and entertaining. Looking forward to a 3rd season so long as they don't pull a Lucasfilms move.

To be honest i didnt really find the finale to be very good as far as story or comedy is concered; at least not as good as i hoped for it to be for being the last episode.
But Im happy to hear all that hints about a possible San Gakki season in the last episode. And the fact with they will travel to england makes it more believable since its like that in the manga too from what ive heared. Even though theres no announcement yet, I think Im pretty sure it will continue; I mean this series is succesful and they left the possibility for a 3ed season open and even hinted at it, so why shouldnt they do it.
Rather the question is "when".

alot of people seem to think there is going to be a third season. i have to say im a bit skeptical. the 2nd season just wasnt as big a hit as the first one. if they do make a third season this one will probably be remembered as a filler arc.

i liked this episode because harima finally got cut some slack and won some good tenma moments and not to mention it was funny as hell. i love the rewind scene and how you quickly hear the season 1 OP theme when young harima's face shows up. funny, funny

i also like how they were able to squeeze in all the characters last minute...nice seeing them all together at school again because they seemed a little spread out during the holiday break.

and of course, i like that the ending seems open to a 3rd season. i think there will be one, otherwise why bother with all the england talk?

With the pattern of the show extremely obvious now... no conclusion ever, just reset, reset and reset, I wonder if there are a lot of ppl in Japan who is interested in a season 3. So I am skeptical that there will be a 3rd season.
