I thought Blood+ was suppose to be 52 episode, but I was rather surprised when I came back from vacation and saw it only goes up to 50. :\ Guess we'll have to wait and see if there's more.

Over all I thought Blood+ was pretty good, with mostly consistent animation (as far as my memories can tell) and good music but I thought the story kinda dropped off after the France arc, most notibly I found Saya's personality from that time onward to be stagnant.

She sort of EMOed through that part and I don't like angsty heroes who don't develope as characters. As for the other characters, Kai really went through a loop and a half but still managed to remain himself in a way at the end. And as for Haji, well, I still wished he was less stone faced but the last episode sort of redeemed that.

In all I think I'd give Blood+ an 8/10; it was fun but it could be better

I can definitely see an OVA or something happening to close up some plot holes, like the one-legged girl, Nathan, and Lulu.

First thirteen episodes: I give it a 9. Predictable though.
-Russian Arc: Wasn't important that they went to Russia anyway? I give it a 8.
-France Arc: So many plot holes and all those Schiff filler episodes. Dropped to 4.5.
-10 Year-Jump: So many possibilities followed by zero development from Saya. Dropped to 3. And those Schiffs episodes kept coming, annoying and boring.
-US Arc: So many ways to be mediocre. Death for Solomon, Moses, Karman, then an unsatisfying clash between Saya and Diva. I rate it an average of 6.5.
The End: Concise and well wrapped finale. The end result for me was an 8.

Characters:
-Saya: I really liked her for the early episodes then she was a constant let-down and a very slow learner. Underqualified heroine. Still won though. Rating 6.
-Kai: I hated him in the early episodes then he became a better character who you could actually relate to (not Saya because she just doesn't make any progress). I gave him a 8 by the end of the series. Would have been a 10 if he had died?
-Hagi: I thought he was cool in the start but he's really flat and steals all the good action sequences from Saya. His chemistry with Saya is forced unlike Kai and Saya's. I rated him a 9 then he dropped to a zero. I hate how nothing matters to him but following Saya's command. The last episode did nothing to change my opinion. He could die and still get a zero because I didn't give a damn what kind of damage he took. He can never feel.
-David: Also so cool at the start because he was 99% guaranteed to die. His alcohol phase should have been played out longer because it was great material. It's too bad he didn't really talk much to Saya other than business (play the surrogate card, dammit) and became less and less important to the story. By the end, he was lost all the importance that made him worth killing off. Rate him a 7.5.
-Julia: They really didn't go far enough with DavidxJulia (too casual). And her working with the bad guys made no sense or wasn't well explained. Rate her a 6 but 10 for episode 11. She could have played the surrogate card with Saya or Riku.
-Mao/Okamura/Lewis---Mao and Oka should have become a couple because KaixMao was pointless. There was no room for their characters in the final arc unless Okamura died. 5 for both of them. I give Lewis a 5.5 over them.
-Schiff---Zero from the start to finish. Only Irene gets a 6 and LouLou gets a 4.
-Karl=Best Chevalier in my opinion. Gets a 7. Nathan gets a 4. Amshel and James get a 5. Solomon gets a negative 1, Hagi would beat him anytime. But SolomonxSaya is a little less forced than SayaxHagi.
-Diva---Before the second Riku, I gave her a 8. Then she became a 5 because she actually became not as dangerous as say Amshel or Van Argeno.
-Van Argeno/Collins---Collins should have died brutally. Argeno should have died ironically. Collins gets a 1. Van Argeno candy-freak gets a 4.5.

Best Episodes in the series: 6, 11-13, 16-19, 32-34, 36-38, 42.
Worst Episodes: 20, 31, 40, 45, 46.

Blood+ is the sorriest excuse for an anime since Fushigi Yuugi. Not only does it drag on with a story that must have been written by an elementary school child, it completely degrades the greatness of vampires. If I was a part of the studio that produced this I would be ashamed enough to commit seppuku. Kami-sama help us all if studios keep producing this random garbage.

Eh no it does not degrade vampires it just takes a different they aren't mystical reanimated corpses just a type genetic variant on earth.

Well, i liked the series. It had it's slow spots but after Riku's death it got better to me. My major complaint was that Saya is one of the weakest protagonists i've seen in a while. I'm talking about character wise. There didn't seem to be much to her. I found her boring and couldn't really pin a personality on her. But i still liked the show and was satisfied with the ending.

People have been wondering whether he is a "superior" chevalier and whether this allowed him to survive Saya's attack.

The answer is NO. He most likely was either one of Saya's and Diva's mother's chevaliers and/or her MATE. In such a case, Saya's blood wasn't likely to have any effect on Nathan...making Nathan utterly invincible except against decapitation or burning.

But we never saw Nathan's abilities. The way he seems to command a certain amount of respect and authority overall would hint that he's one of the more dominant and more powerful of the chevaliers overall. His powers could have rivaled those of Amshel's. But for now, assume that as an inquisitive reporter, he may just stay in the background...

well, heres hoping IG does do something, i liked it enough to see a little bit more. I guess it all depends on weither they deemed it sucessful or not. Characters and show placed high in magazine polls but it seems like more of a cult show more than Seed was. Plus like i read ealier in Japanese BBS posts, ratings were supposedly middling. Both Seeds and FMA were around 6% for an average (this i confirmed with newtype), B+ apparently got only half that so it all depends, i guess, could be wrong. I think it's prime adult swim material actually, if they got it it'd be fun to watch it again in english (provided the dub is good though).

2) Does anyone know anything about the second series of Blood+? Because the damn thing is obviously not over yet.... It can't be. Too much is left open.
a- There are still chiroptera hidden throughout the world probably.
b- Haji can't be dead... I hope. The story definitely can not go on without him!!!

The most intriguing character in this series got to be Nathan. He always seems so care-free and the least blood thirsty among Diva's chevailers. He could have even orginated beyond Saya/diva's moom generation, serving as the offical lore-keeper for all things pertaining to their kind. If they ever create an OVA, I hope they include more information on Nathan Maler.

Overall, I rate this series a 5 out of 10 due to amerturish story-writing, bad character development, plot inconsistencies and at times poor animation. What a waste of potential for an original storyline!

Well, if you remember the last minutes of ep 50, you see a rose with blue ribbon. Kai said "he finally came", so yeah it was Haji, the blue ribbon was fixing his hair...So still alive ^^"
He's the only one who can stay by Saya's side, each time she woke up. He does not age, so it's kinda logical he's still alive.
Besides, Chevalier can be killed only by "blood" : injury, shots, etc don't have any effect.

I would say im half satisfied with the ending. Somethings were put to rest while others were not. As for nathan being alive that really didnt surprise me we never saw him crystalieze plus he just knew way to much shit to be a regular baddie. It seem pateience and loyalty win out in the end honestly its better for Hagi and Saya to be together. They have endless life spans Kai will get old and die one day that would be too much for Saya to take. Kai was all about family and he got a good deal he is raising Rikus daugthers as well as Saya Nieces. My prediction for Mao is that she never gave up on Kai she just stepped aside to let Kai and Saya realieze their feelings. She is really the perfect person for Kai she knows everything he went through, knows the idenity of the twins and would love them also, and she really loves Kai. I can see after she has gotten the seeing the world things out of her system her coming back and trying again with Kai. Keep in mind that Kai never once mentioned that he was not intrested in Mao he was just distracted by everything that was going on. Plus i can not see her falling for that reporter he just too old her. Plus she never mentioned that she had given up on Kai or fell out of love with him. Im thinking maybe OVA to tie up loose ends but i dont plan on seeing one for a while even if they do one. Over all I give Blood+ 7 1/2 __________________

Not that im objecting to it. Its just way to rushed and under developed. 50 episodes and they didnt do anythign with the situation outside of hagi just being saya's loyal little puppy. Im also dissappointed with the excessive amount of drama as well. They seem to dwell a bit to long on one issue that could have just been left as resolved. Then they would have had time to cover some un-resolved issues, like why nathan is still prancing around after getting sliced in half by saya.....Ohh well, whats done is done. Time to clear out that time slot for another series
