What's your favorite Anime Genre?
i HATE mecha!! (bleh!) sorry to all you mecha-lovers out there, but i can never stay awake through even one mecha anime episode. i've never even see a full one. the closest i got was Eureka 7 episode 1 and Evangelion volume 1. -_-
but i LOVE shojo anime!! like Peach Girl!!! teen angsty/romance! *swoon* or random funny stuff!! (Kodocha!) (Bo-bo-bo!) (yotsubato) (azumanga daioh) or good shonen action (Naruto) (bleach) (DBZ) Cute stuff! (pita-ten) |

I technically watch anything from mindless action to slow-paced drama so long it's not down-right obscene yuri, however...MECHA was, is and will always be my burning passion regardless of soopa, real, mecha-lite or hybrid.

Categories were to limited. But really, as long as it is pulled off well, I will watch it and enjoy it. I like all genres in that respect. My favorite would have to slice-of-life comedies or slice-of-life romances.

Anything and everything that might have even the slightest bit of romance in them. I guess that means most shojo series and almost all bishoujo game based anime are my most watched, though a lot of times mecha (Zegapain) and humor (School Rumble) also feature them.
My least favorite would be shounen, since even if they do have romance, it's like 1 episode out of a 100. Not to mention that the more popular ones tend to drag on and on...

I just watch whatever I can, for the most part. I've only had one anime series that I've actually stopped watching because it just didn't cut it for me and now, I don't even remember the name of it. XD
As long as the anime has one of the following, it's good for me: decent character, decent story, decent soundtrack, decent voice track, a little real life, fantastical in nature, etc. I'd watch most anime around. Recents I finished are Gundam SEED (suggested), Strawberry Panic (suggested), Rozen Maiden (look at the sig), and Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, among others. XD I have a high tolerance for most anime genres.

I don't see why xris left shounen and shoujo up there, seeing as how the new poll options effectively cover most of the ground that those options cover and are more specific. I checked shounen (since a lot of my favorite anime are shounen), action, and drama.
I like quiet a few mecha anime, but I almost never care about the mecha aspect of them. (there are a few exceptions though, like Asuka's badass fight in EoE) Anime comedy is okay... I love FMP and GTO, but those are the only two anime where comedy is a big focus that make it onto to my top 10 list or maybe even my top 15. Action anime are great when you want to get away from the drama and turn your brain off, and it makes for the best shows to play in the background while you're typing or whatever. Drama is great too. Likable characters getting put through hell and having their lives torn apart FTW! I don't usually care about romance, though it can be irritating watching a likable lead hook up with the wrong person, and extremely cheesy romance can be embarassing to watch. Harem anime usually aren't all that great... I think the only harem anime/manga that I'd rate higher than an 8/10 is the Love Hina manga. Also, it seems like harem anime always seem to shaft one of my top three favorite girls on the show in terms of screentime. The rest of them, I don't have an opinion on... |

I like romance series where the couples are boyfriend and girlfriend and dating for a long time in the series and are a couple and dating and in a sexual relationship during the series. I like romance series where you see the couple as boyfriend and girlfriend and in a relationship and dating for a long time during the series.
