wnkryo, billion is one of those funny numbers that has two meanings (everything after 1 million). One of them is a million million and the other is a thousand million. So, depending on where Prince of Chronics lives he could be right. IIRC it is just the US and the science community that uses billion = 1000 million (1 milliard).
The rest of the world uses the prefix to denote how many groups of 6 zeroes there are. The US and science community get all kinds of wierd names going based on a 3 zero system. |

Yeah, we've seen and read the article in a previous post.
Anyway, he got some stuff i wouldn't really be interrested. Like the subcription to MS's Programmers' website? iw don't want that. And XBOX is only $200. I prefer the money. But who am I to say, Mike Row is a programmer himself he might like what he has been offered... |

He's pretty lucky since that's much more than he deserves, I guess Microsoft decided public perception outweighed any benifit from taking him to court. Plus Microsoft probably saved themselves tens of thousands of dollars settling it out of court anyways.

At first when I was following this thread, I felt bad for the kid. He was being bullied by the big fish. But he got a lot out of it. Sure, the $10 was a slap in the face, but the following proves that he knew what he was doing:
"Since my name is Mike Rowe, I thought it would be funny to add 'soft' to the end of it," said Rowe. After reading about him selling the threatening letters on ebay, I'm angry. He's just lucky that microsoft didn't push the issue. |
