"Love Letter from a Serial Killer"
by Michael Scott From The beating of your heart so close to mine Creates a scene of depravity something I’ve been missing forever Something I love to think about Something that occupies my mind as we speak Something I can not hide any longer My love for you is never dying I can’t stop thinking about you Something isn’t clear My mind fogged by you I can’t comprehend anything else I love you You love me That is love Can’t you see? What is wrong with this picture? Stalker you call me stalker I may be but love is in the air don’t you think? Disturbing pictures in my mind haunt your dreams every night. This is love don’t you think. Something ain’t right. Is it you or me? Is it something I said? Why are the cops at my door? They found your head in my fridge. They just don’t understand what you think. I have to tell them for you. You are in love with me. I love you. Nothing will ever keep us apart. In death I will forever be with you. Forever you will be with me. Let’s meet in heaven though you told me to go to hell. Who can know what is wrong with y mind. As I feel the pull of time as the bullet flies through my head. Brain matter on the floor its mine here I come dear. The police have sealed our fate. They will never know about our child buried in the front yard. Though we only adopted it, its something that only we share A secret that I dared to give to you. A secret I found in the park near by.

"Forever or Not"
By Michael Scott Listening to the crackling fire Staring into the heated light Something seems to be beckoning me Inspiration flows into my heart I find that my life Means little in this big world Forever it will be spinning A lifetime is meaningless Or so it seems As people drag on their daily lives Every little decision they make Is what gives this world its power The more decisions The stronger the spin Forever turning On each humans whim But one day everything will end A higher power will begin Sleeping throughout a decadent past Like the wind that seeps through the grass It will blow past us Leaving us insignificant once again But even a piece of grass can stop some of the wind

"Society and Time the Enemies"
By Michael Scott As I stare into the starry sky Forever living in your shoes Not knowing the reason for this Something against nothing Everything against something Nothing is something So what am I doing? Riddles of life escaping my mind Magazines showing me Filling my eyes with lies Nothing is everything Everything is nothing Something is wrong with me Sitting on my couch watching tv Living every image shown to me Never knowing why I cheat and lie Living the way that TV programmed me The government is responsible Nothing I do anymore is plausible What is wrong with me? The future looks bleak Ina city of people like me Forever wandering the thin line of reality My mind can only hold so much Alone, with out reason Forever living out each change in season Time passing by Like thin lines of decadent gold Futures living out their useless souls Screaming for mercy at the hands of those who hold their future Their future stolen by time

Quote:
Reading through the letter, it seemed suspicious and that they were trying just a bit too hard to reassure me and flatter me. Not to mention already trying to get me to preorder the book (preferably multiple copies). Looking online I saw that a lot of people have gotten the same letter (some for multiple poems) and as much as over a year ago, for an anthology with the same name. One guy said that for the grand prize he was supposed to pay his way to go to some convention in order to read his poem in front of finalist judges (and when he received his copy of the anthology it was filled with grammatical errors) |
