I think it makes more sense going by what Jiraiya says in the anime, rather than what was translated in the manga.

I was looking for comments like these. I stopped watching the old Naruto around episode 160 because it felt like one filler after another. Quite frankly, I also found it quite boring.

So Naruto Shippuuden seems a bit more mature, a bit more complex? Someone out there like me who stopped watching the old Naruto but found the new one worth getting into?

Nice Episode felt like watching the first season . That old lady at the end has a nice crackling voice.

She does have a good Voice. The one area I could never ever fault the show is the voice acting Its always been Great (not sure about the fillers.. since I didn't see that many) and I cant see it getting bad, so far all the new voices in Shippuden have been perfect for their roles.

Indeed, the VA choice for Naruto have always been excellent .. Which really make me want to hear the voice of ... the new team member that replace Sasuke in the 1st prologue episode >.<

Iruka's sound eeriely similar to GSD Rey tho >.<

Episode didn't suck...I liked Kankuro's keyboard-style when he was just typing the sand still moving his pups^^...He got his a$$ handed to him though as I thought he would...Kankuro without the make-up looks like 35 yeard old bum named Shaggy though...Naruto in the second half of the episode seemed more grown and the discussion of actual serious topics (Akatsuki, Itachi, Oro-sama) by Sakura of all people had me into the ep without the need of pure action...It seems this saga will still take like 5-10 eps before we see any real results based on the setup of Leaf and Sand needing to meet...I gave the ep a 7 out of 10 because it was way better than any of the previuos eps not called ep 1-2...

The only thing that ticked me off is the tree-jumping...Can we just say Naruto characters just fly now? Because Team Kakashi and Temari went like 5 mins without touching a tree-branch ...Also the fight music is so non-existent and timid I'm thinking of actually overlaying old-skool Naruto BGM's with my own editor...

btw, my memory is fuzzy.. @ manga reader.. did the manga expand on why Kankurou took that sample from the veil he cut from Sasori's face?

@ wing .. well, I *think* they move the camera along ... the cameraman jump alongside them in snyc.. so the jumping wasn't really noticeable

Because Sasori is like Elvis to all puppeteers and when he gets back to the village he can say to all his follow puppeteers "OMG! Do you know who this fabric belnged to? Sasori THE godfather of puppeteering! <sniff> It still has his smell on it!" <swoon>

PS If you haven't read the manga then you're in for a treat, Cyborg ninja Sasori makes DD look like his bitch (which he is).

Well, I'm no manga reader, so this is speculation. But once Kakashi and gang make it to the sand, then Kakashi can summon Pakkun and have him track Sasori by the scent left on the veil.

I hope Temari stays with them throughout the mission.

Anyone else who thought it was funny how they flew some kilometres without even stomping on one tree to the other ? XD

It only was a *swooshing* sound in 3-4 minutes without even a stomping sound.

It happens on a lot of shows. Whenever the character is reflecting on something, the background becomes irrelevant. We were supposed to be concentrating on the emotional scene going on, not if he was ever going to land on another branch.

Yeah I know that, still even if it didnt make any sound they didnt jump on branches either. So you can say its also the animators fault.

If not it is meant to skip animations for emotional scenes am I right ?

I got a good laugh out of that as well, kind of made it hard to concentrate on what they were saying

@prolifik Looks like that approach failed.

I noticed it too. The animation seemed a lot better in that scene; maybe trees would have pushed them over budget.
