I loved the battle between Naomi-chan and Gash! However I am finding it increasingly hard to believe that Naomi-chan is a human being! Between that mouth and her physical prowess it seems almost certain that she is a demon! One of these days we're going to meet her Book Keeper and Gash will be doomed.

On the other hand... maybe she really is a human. There are lots of weird things in this world. The only rule seems to be that it can exist (or just look weird) as long as it is funny.

BTW, this encode is only the second time in my life that ffdshow failed to play something for me. I needed to use XviD to watch Gash Bell 36. If anyone else is having trouble watching it then that might be the problem. Get the latest version of XviD from Koepi's page. Ffdshow can be temporarily disabled from it's configuration dialogue so that you can use XviD and then reenabled afterwards if you want.

Actually, I just discovered that ffdshow-20040808 can be configured to play XviD files with the XviD 1 decoder instead of libavcodec. That works also. Yay ffdshow!

i've been without DSL for the past month or so because of moving.. and now that i have it back, i see that Vulcan300 released another episode.. YAY FOR VULCAN! only one problem.. my browser doesn't see the page for the dl.. I keep getting a "Page not found" error.. did any of u people have the same problem?? and if so, how did u fix it? (other than the obvious "get it off of IRC".. for some reason, i can't get it to run on my PC)

please help.. thanks!

Unfortunately Vulcan300 has a problem with their BT site. I have no idea why they haven't gotten their page fixed already, but there is an alternative.

Zatch Bell?..They dont think "gash" sounds cool enough? Had to add a "Z"? Im a little offended. And I was looking foward to reading the manga tooo!! T___T

I believe I remember hearing that the renaming was because they needed to avoid a copyright issue, not because Zatch sounds better than Gash. (IMO, it sounds much much worse).

The series was renamed to Zatch bell because American TV people will not advertise for a show named gash or air a show with that name because of its connotations. Gash is a slang word for a part of the female anatomy. (This is the official word from Viz.) And the rest of the series was renamed as such... Zatch was a "licensor approved" title. WTF! That has to be the stupidest thing I've ever heard. I've never heard this slang term used! Its like the show is called "Vagina Bell" or "Cocksucker Bell". Gash is SOOOO freaking generic. I hate the FCC. Stupid bunch of dickwads.

A search for "Gash" on google produces:
#1/2 result is a lingerie store and #8 is porn... the first anime result is not until the 2nd page
A search on "Gash bell" produces most hits related to the anime.

Spoiler for Ep 36: Speaking of Vulcan 300, was anyone else nervous/afraid when Gash fell into the trap and Naomi got a hold of Vulcan? At first I thought she was going to chew him up and I kept saying "NOOOOO!!!! I don't want to see a Vulcan 300 Version 4!!!!!" Luckly she's not that evil. Oh, and I LOVED Umagon in this episode. I think Umagon is my favorite character. Whenever he and Kyomaro fight I always fall out of my chair laughing. I didn't have any problems watching this episode NoSanninWa. I watched it using Xine.
