He's never gonna have any privacy.
That kid... is just awesome! She's such a menace that it's hilarious. I think Naru just might be my favorite character! The new character added some seriousness. Especially when he got inspired to try harder. Still, the mood is always light and fun with a twist of serious. Sei is just too serious for his own good. The point of coming to that island wasn't just work. He hasn't realized that yet. It's to make him relax, loosen up and develop his own calligraphy style through fun. His moments of inspiration are ROFL Guess he has a long way to go..

I, for one, enjoyed this episode even more than the premiere. I had a big smile on my face throughout the whole episode. It's one of those shows that can make you instantly relax and feel better. The comedy is better than expected. Lots of funny moments.

Another fun, relaxing, and hilarious episode. This series has surprisingly become a gem in the rough for me. I can see it being my favourite series this season, which is not what I expected at all when the season first started. The series summary doesn't do this show justice at all; heck, I almost skipped this series entirely because the summary sounded dull. So glad Bun-nee persuaded me otherwise.
I really enjoyed listening to the different Japanese dialect. Most often all I hear, and am most familiar with, is the Tokyo standard dialect, so it's great to hear the variation in the Japanese spoken language. I think I may have heard some of these dialects in my city (very rare though) but never realized they're also Japanese. I also enjoy watching the different lifestyle and way of thinking of small rural communities compared to large metropolises. I've heard stories from my grandparents when they used to live in rural areas when they were small and it's pretty much like how the series depicts it; neighbors going in and out of each others' homes like their own, bringing food to share at any time of the day for whatever reason, helping each other out like family; they even tell me they don't even lock their doors at night. But this was decades ago. I'm sure rural areas now have also become less relaxing than it was in the past. Wish life can always be like that. As always, Naru is the absolute bomb of the series! Kudos to her little seiyuu with her excellent voice acting and very cute voice!

First episode was absolutely fantastic.
Second episode wasn't as great but still pretty good. Though I hope Handa won't continuously be as much of a buttmonkey as he was this episode because it's kinda detracting.

Loved epi 2, Naru slapping Handa to get the mosquito
Liked the girls too, Hina does need to grow on me since I wont be able to handle if she cries every single epi. The S&M joke was hilarious. If Hara Suzuko doesnt win some kind of award for her voice as Naru, I will be disappointed. *sigh* gotta wait another week til 3.

And I thought calligraphy is enjoyable and has the relaxing and stress relief value. This guy is killing himself over it. I hope the next ep won't be about the kid coming over with new friends to pick on sensei again. And really, he needs to learn how to cook.

I felt that the first episode was ok, but the second episode was truly excellent.
I really like the message from this series. It was super enjoyable! This is totally one of the shows I will be avidly following this season. The second episode hooked me. That was hilarious though, honestly. |

And this immediately captured my attention in the first minute of the episode:
As I had expected, the episode was really funny. I think I spotted some other manga make cameos like Soul Eater and Full Metal Alchemist too.
