I'm still in the process of my first (and only) December update for the Darkness Project.

I was actually thinking about introducing The Queen of Blades this chapter too.

Queen of blades? Please enlighten this writer, because I really have no idea about what you're talking about whatsoever.

In Flight Chapter 43 and Kenshin no Keishousha have been provoking the writer in me to make some type of sword for Crazy!Touma. Y'know, the one for the Othinus fic. I'm already laying out the basics in my head...

It's a minor villain in the grand scheme of things. She has a role, but she's mainly being used for the sake of leading towards the Chess Master of my story. But that's a subject for a different time.

Basically the Queen of Blades is a Skill Out leader who's, obviously, very skilled with blades and such. Mainly knives, not swords though; sorry no katana's in this fic till Kaori shows up.

Anyways, she's acting as the a person from the Darkness whom Touma goes up against as a representative of the Light. Meaning its him working with Kuroko and maybe even Misaka(giving her a cameo before June hits; which is when Touma and her meet for the first time).

There's a twist at the end of it though, but I won't spoil it for the sake of being stingy.

Two words: Vorpal Sword.

Glean what you can from that. I'll explain in-depth when you're on the right track.

As for the Queen of Blades, what do you need my help on?

From what I can understand, Vorpal Sword is a blade that can cleanly cut through anything and was used in a poem of some sort to kill a beast called Jabberwocky. I'm guessing it plays into that on some level.

In regards to what I need help with; its mainly her introduction into this little 'arc' i've got going. I'm not sure about it and I just want a second opinion for what I have at the moment.

Let's see...

How about you start by having her give a demonstration of her skills with knives? She'd have some subordinates with her to mention the epithet, 'Queen of Blades', to finish the introduction.

As for the Vorpal Sword, you're right about it being sharp.

But I'm thinking about turning the sharpness Up To Eleven. It makes you wonder what happens when a sword that cuts through everything gets its sharpness amplified.

Oh, I'm going to like this.

Hmmm....that sounds pretty legit. I mean, with what I have thus far, its just her talking to Shougo on the phone in a warehouse. She's got, like, ten people either dead or fatally wounded around her; so I guess I could have it to where she has some of her 'lesser' subordinates around to pretty much summerize the fight from their perspective before one of them mentioning her epithet.

I'll post the finished result on here once I write it if your not against it.

Now, onto V.S.

Basically it'd be Touma with a sword that's akin to the Curtana Original in that it can cut the fabric of space and time itself. If that's to be the case then....how can Touma hold it without Imagine Breaker turning it into tiny little pieces?

That could actually work. It's going to Crazy!Touma after all. It would work kind of like a Drunken/Crazy Sword Style.

But then again, would Crazy!Touma even have the Imagine Breaker, is the question.

Spoiler for Explanation on Crazy!Touma:

Part of the reason that OP!Touma in To Ascend had the Imagine Breaker is because he wanted to stabilize his luck after it got shot to hell by his power awakening.

Now, Crazy!Touma just uses that same power to force his luck back to normal, too mentally disturbed at the time to care about the distortions to reality (which are, admittedly, little to none).

He'd read the story about the Vorpal Sword and the Jabberwocky, then make the blade real after being curious about it.

Then again, I could just have the Vorpal Sword be an altered form of the Imagine Breaker.

Of course, there's also the whole swordsmanship issue. I wonder whether I should have Crazy!Touma, in his mindless wanderings through the world, meet either Acqua of the Back or Knight Leader to learn swordsmanship.

But only the basics, anyway. Can't have him becoming some type of quick slash master on a whim, can I?

Ahhh, I'm thinking this out and I haven't even typed a single letter for the fic yet...

To anyone who's lurking, can you tell me if this scene will suffice as a good enough cliff-hanger for the next chapter of my Darkness Project?

The sound of light tapping on the metal face of the door was what caused Touma’s concentration to shatter in an instant. Due to the complete lack of noise coming from his home, the disturbance had not been missed despite how much he wished to have not been disturbed to begin with. It was bad enough that his homework took longer than it should have to complete and he still had a test that he needed to study for tomorrow. The lack of proper nourishment only further fanned the flames of exasperation and mental exhaustion he was still suffering from the events prior in the day.

Once again, knuckles rapped at his door, this time being much louder than the first time.

Torn between his work and the unknown visitor, Kamijou settled on the option that would be less troublesome to deal with. Thus, with a grunt of frustration, Touma stood up and proceeded towards the door; having deemed it easier than allowing the disturbance to continue any longer.

“Coming!” Shouted the lad as another round of loud knocks echoed through his living quarters, which was just starting to get on his nerves due to how frequent they were becoming. “Geez, who is it; Anti-Skill?”

The latter portion was spoken mainly to himself and under his breath as he turned the handle and opened the door to the outside world. Personally, he didn’t know who he was expecting to find on the other side, but what he got most certainly wasn’t what he had imagined it to be. For the instant he opened the door entirely, he was blindsighted by the fist that stuck him right in the chin and promptly put him right on his ass. So sudden this was, he didn’t have much time to think about what had happened to him before he was roughly grabbed by the collar and stuck once again, this time in the temple.

For the second time that day, Touma found himself laying on the floor of his own home due to the violent actions of some unwanted guests. Thanks to the latest attack, visibility had become significantly dulled to the degree that made him incapable of disiguishing the faces of any of the people now present in his home. It was at least four of them, that and they were all males were the only two factors he could determine at this point in time. Aside from that, everything was just a blur to him; even things that were close to him were obscured by the resulting haze.

“That was for earlier, you fuckin’ bastard.”

He had hit someone? Who did he hit and why? Thoughts like that shot through his mind as he tried to steady himself as best he could in spite of how the room felt as though it was spinning around him. Thinking was becoming a problem, moving was an even bigger problem, and these people in his home were the biggest problem; all of which needed to be dealt with soon before they get worse. Unfortunately, they did get worse as he was struck for the third time now as he tried to regain some sense of his bearings. This time, he wasn't able to see what had happened, though if he had to guess, then it had seemed someone had hit him in the stomach pretty hard. He could assess that due to all the air in his lungs abruptly leaving his body, erecting a fit of harsh coughs and saliva to fly out from his mouth shortly after.

“Is this really the asshole from earlier?” At the very least, Touma was able to hear what was being said clearly enough. It was one of the few sensory skills that were working at the moment aside from touch and smell, the latter being useless in this situation. “He ain’t so tough.”

“He nearly broke my damn jaw.”

“Quit bitching and pick him up.” Was the harsh Interjection of the person who Touma assumed was the leader of the little group of attackers. “We’re short on time and I aint gettin’ busted here because you idiots are holdin’ a grudge.”

A couple mumbled curses were all that followed these words, but none present argued with the person and simply did as instructed. At which point, Touma’s vision was gradually beginning to clear up, which in turn allowed him to precisely see where the people were dragging him off to. Well, it was more like dragging him further into his living area rather than back outside, but that presented a whole different problem.

For he could see someone kicking his table to the side to allow the boy’s leeway before moving over towards the sliding glass door leading to his balcony. It didn’t take much effort at that point for Touma to realize what these guys were planning to do to him once the door was opened.

They were going to throw him off his own balcony.

And for the life of him, he couldn’t determine why.

Yeah, 10k words is over my quota, but it only got there because of the AN at the beginning and end of the chapter.

Still, I like the direction I'm taking it; having decided against bringing in QoB this time around. Reserving her appearance for a later point in time seemed like the better alternative.

Hmm....choices.

I'd say the better gift to give is an update; as I've been told in the past that an update usually makes a person's month feel more complete.

But, ultimately, it's your choice, so I can't really say.

Go for it. Since it's almost Christmas it would be nice to see some (new) holiday themed FFs
