That was a very wonderful episode, the end of the episode was very heartwarming. Seeing Agemaki hugging his cat in the end, saying sorry and all, is really sweet...more than that, we got more background into Agemaki's family and his fear of the spirits, and some more developments for AgemakixZakuro as well. Seeing a jealous tsundere is always a treat, rivaled only by her reaction when Agemaki calls her a precious partner in the end. All in all, a wonderful episode.

I suppose the mix-up between the partners is just temporary as well, despite how well they are currently with their own partner I personally don't mind it that we see how they interact with others. After all, they're all friends anyway.

It seems as though the female side of Kei's family is spirit sensitive, and I'm not sure if his father is that magnanimous - his wife may be keeping him in the dark about their abilities.

Not surprised if it later turns out that Kei's maternal relatives hail from a line of onmyoji. That would be really awkward for the Kei/Zakuro ship.

Really loved this episode. This show reminds me more of Natsume Yujinchou every episode, and I thought it was one of the best shows that came up in the last couple of years

How it is possible? Shortly after first episode release creators decided to improve this and did it in one week? It's not only one frame, but the entire OP, mostly clothes.

Good comparison, I always had a smile on my face when I watched that and I do the same with this. Watched 6 and 7 back to back. The twins backstory was so sad 7 was cute, Kei's reasons for being scared of spirits makes sense after seeing his dad

Maybe they had to get episode one out of the door before they finished polishing the OP. Kinda like what SHAFT had when Hidamari Sketch Hoshimittsu started, except SHAFT needed 3/4 weeks for both the OP and ED. Anyway, I'm just guessing here.

If I were Kei...I'd be more scared of his dad than of spirits. XD But his mother's and sister's supernatural abilities are interesting. I wonder if there's any connection to that and Kei...?

Episode 7 was a good heartwarming episode and i can understand why Agemaki wanted Zakuro to meet his father. I think she now has a better understanding of who he is and why he acts a certain way. Some might consider this episode slow but its actually quite important for future developments between the two. The most lovely scene in the whole episode was Zakuro standing by the window with the breeze blowing smelling the flowers. Shortly after Agemaki appears with some Peaches but before the look on his face was that of utter amazement of Zakuro's beauty at least thats why i think. The way they animator Zakuro in the scene took my breath away.

Like many others I believe that the women in his family are spiritually sensitive to a point. However i think its mainly his sister who possesses it. She can see his old cat with no problem and even upon Agemaki leaving she said good for you like she could and has been communicating with the cat for some time. Its one thing to see spirits but if you can communicate with them you are very strong tuned to the spiritually world. I find it funny Zakuro figured it out but still seemed quite puzzled by the fact. This is another good set up for a future relationship between Zakuro and Agemaki. I dont think this is the last we have seen of his imouto.

His mother on the other hand i feel just has good old fashion mothers intuition. You know what im talking about like how your mom can figure things out just on a glance things that only a mother can tell, she observed Zakuro during dinner and deduced it rather quickly But the two most important facts of Zakuro meeting Agemaki's mother is 1. She is not prejudiced against spirits which means her husbands influence does not hold that much sway over her. 2nd she knew that Zakuro was making her rather gloomy and son happy. She commented she has not seen that much energy in him in a long time.

I am still amazed that this series has captured my attention as much as it has. The character designs are just so lovely especially the clothes and how the characters especially the girls move in them its just over all beautiful.

Next Episode is sure to produce more more of my favorite couple Susukihotaru and Riken but with a twist this could be interesting.

Its pretty clear that so can Mom see spirits ... I think perhaps its as simple as they're open to the concept. People "see what they want to see".

Love ep 7 .... full of understatement rather than just slapping the viewer in the face (like much of prime time local series I try to watch).

Spoiler for OYZ 08 - A Study in Foils:

Not too much mileage out of the "switching partners" thing, though it did reveal that Hanakiri is the only one who can tell apart the twins. Guess Horie and Toyosaki's voices sound really similar in universe. Some good points, such as Kei's gifts serving as the catalyst from the previous episode, and the reveal of Daidai and Byakuroku, the girls voiced by Haruka Tomatsu and Minako Kotobuki. The best enemy for a half sprit is another half spirit - makes sense. They're rather sympathetic, given their situation. Also surprised that Black Widow's still alive after the rather painful stabbing a week or two ago. Nice episode.

It's pretty obvious to see where this show will go with those sisters, which will be pretty typical. Though as long as we keep getting dawwww scenes like that last one between Zakuro and Kei, then i don't mind what this show plans to do.

Rather liked the scene at the beginning where the teams were split for a bit of character interaction. More of that would be nice.

Well at least now we know why the teams were a bit mixed up. Just like Agemaki to take the tickets completely serious and to get started on paying Zakuro back for the visit to his house . Can only imagine how hard it hit her knowing that he was captured doing that for her. No wonder she was upset at the end. Though it did lead to quite the nice moment with those two. Of course she wasn't worried about him at all .

Enjoyed the banter with Susukihotaru and Agemaki. The argument about letting Agemaki be her shield was entertaining. Zakuro would be upset if something happened to either so can understand their feelings. They get along pretty well normally though. Both are pretty relaxed so makes sense. Sadly they just got caught off-guard so can't blame either for the capture.

Sucks for Riken to get taken down like that. He was distracted and against half-spirit opponents that just isn't a good idea. He and Zakuro didn't get in each other's way like I expected. Having two opponents did help there. Plus both can thank the other for helping Agemaki and Susukihotaru grow and be happier.

Of course the twins and Ganryuu are kind of left to the side this time around. Get the silly punishment. Sad since Zakuro was going to be let go under orders anyways, guess it's the principle of the whole thing . To be fair to Riken I have a bit of trouble. Even with the voices it's a week between episodes so tend to forget which voice goes to which name .

another good ep, so the evil sisters are really half-spirits Daidai and Byakuroku working for the Black Widow who is still alive,they hate Zakuro because she has a happy life, the interactions between characters were nice, hope for more of that, so Zakuro change Kei and Roken changed Susukihotoru for the better, more Mugi for a bit, so Kushimatsu tried to lock up Zakuro to protect her as it was the last promise she gave Zakuro's mother, the ending was absolutely perfect, this show is quickly becoming one of my favorites this season

Is that actually an accurate translation? I'd always assumed that this was a case of using hair colours to differentiate characters, and I've generally gotten the impression CR's translation is pretty liberal. If accurate, it does raise some interesting questions.

We finally get a full reveal on the recurring enemy girls, who were half-spirits as expected. Their back story seems pretty typical, but I'm enjoying the show too much to really but to much emphasis on that.

I don't think that the two sisters hate Zakuro to the same extent: Byakuroku really hates her, whereas Daidai seems to fight more because she adores her mistress (Lady Rangui):

-Daidai suggests they return to the village, but Byakuroku insists they stay to fight Zakuro.
-Byakuroku is the one that expresses so much hatred to Zakuro... and she's also the one whose feelings traumatized Susukihotaru back in episode five.
-Byakuroku insists on being the one to fight Zakuro.

All of which makes sense when you consider that Lady Rangui showers affection on Daidai and threatens Byakuroku by holding her sister hostage. Byakuroku doesn't resent Zakuro just because of her happy home - that bit about "your freedom" in the list of things she resented about Zakuro is not as much a throwaway line as it first appears. I'm kind of curious as to whether either sister's feelings will prove exploitable. The big remaining question, of course, is who Lady Rangui is and what she's trying to accomplish.

Liked this episode in general, although sword fights don't seem to be this series' strong point. Nice to see Orikata and Mugi again. Also, Zakuro and Riken make a surprisingly good action duo even if their affections obviously lead elsewhere.

As others have already said, the plot is very classic/typical, but the wonderful characters and romance are more than enough to make this one of the best anime this season for me. I enjoyed seeing the girls interact a bit more with someone other their respective partners.

Yeah, I'm sure their voices sound the same in universe, they only gave her different seiyuus so that we, the audience, would be able to tell them apart.
