Okay, you are right. I think I am too greedy on the new chapter. Unlike the anime, the manga has spared it's charm.

I wondered about possibly creating a thread to discuss Akatsuki's plans if they are able to collect all nine bijuu, and to what ends they will be used. Pein made mention that he wants Akatsuki to use them to throw the world into turmoil so that Akatsuki could gain power as mercenaries, but this seems to be less and less the case as time moves on.

Besides the fact that it's arguable whether or not they'll even be able to collect all nine bijuu's (what with Naruto being a Jinchuuriki, and the Jinchuuriki dieing during the extraction and sealing), it doesn't seem like the plans to throw the world into turmoil are coming to fruition in the way they might have in the beginning.

To start with, the whole facet of Akatsuki as a group, is changing dramatically at this point. More than half of the members we were originally introduced to are dead, and new members are being brought into the fold (in the form of Sasuke and his team). However, it's been mentioned that Sasuke and his team are using Akatsuki, and the collection of the Bijuu, for their own ends. What are those ends? Concurrently, while none of the other memebers of Akatsuki were of significant importance (outside of the sealing ritual), the dramatic change in composition of the group seems to have had a subversive effect on the overall plans of the group. I'm wondering if anyone else feels this way, and what people's opinions are on Akatsuki's plans; whether they're the same or different than they were initially.

There were a couple of threads under which this idea might have fit, but they were all quite old, and I didn't know if it would be preferred for me to resurrect a dead thread, or just try to start a new one.

Personally, I think there's some, as yet unknown, ramification for collecting all 9 Bijuu and sealing them away. Maybe the collection of all 9 bijuu will bring about some ultimate power which can be absorbed and harnessed by a person who has been prepared to receive it. Or perhaps there's some nobler purpose to all of this, like sealing them away to try and protect the world from the power of the bijuu, that will inevitably backfire and the horrible power Akatsuki was trying to protect the world from will be unleashed.

It's just as likely that Pein's initial statement about Akatsuki's plans are still in tact and are correct, but with the dynamic of the group changing as much as it has recently, I wonder if there's not some other underlying plan roaming around in Madara's head.

Do you mean live action skits? There is already a cosplay thread, appropriately titled The Official Naruto Cosplay Thread, that you can rejigger into a thread detailing live action parodies.

This is close, Is Naruto wasted on Naruto. Talks about how the story might be better if it wasnt based on Naruto, Im sure thoughts of improving the series can be discussed there.

I was wondering if you could make a thread that talks about what kind of threat Kabuto would be when he takes full control of Orochimaru's powers, and what kind of plans he might use and what kind of new characters could be introduced.

When he first showed to Naruto, Hinata and Yamato what potential he now had, he said that he would come back for Naruto after he has revenge of Sasuke.

When I think about that, it makes me think that he will probably form a team of his own to get what he wants, since Sasuke's team is now working with Akatsuki. Just like Sasuke forming his own team with people that were experimented on by Orochimaru, Kabuto is probably gonna make his team from people that he once had connections with.

The 3rd databook was officially released in Japan on September 4th. This is a thread to talk about all the various stats, bios, names, and other character information that we will receive from the book. For many characters, this book will flesh out their background stories and finally answer a number of questions.

Kishimoto does have a hand in writing the databooks so they are considered official canon.

To add some details to DeDe's post.

The new data book is called 者の書 ~ The People's Scroll. And here is the cover page:

The book will include data on 120 shinobi and 110 jutsus (which includes Kirin, Rasenshuriken , and whatever Kakashi's MS jutsu is ). The book is also 356 pages long, so do not expect any translations to come out any time until October at the earliest.
