Vampire Knight Manga Discussion
Does anyone read this manga? I know it's in Shojo Beat and is a shojo manga but................it has vampires in it! Personally I love it and will read every chapter they publish in the States. But I do want to know how many Chapters are currently published in Japan. If anyone has information reguarding that subject, do tell. And if you just want to talk about the series...yay someone to talk to.

I'm reading this in Shojo Beat and enjoying every minute of it! I'm more a fan of the mangaka than the vampire theme, since I already have her completed Meru Puri series.
From what I've read on Anime News Network, there are four volumes out in Japan right now with the last just coming out this month. No idea on the final length, maybe someone else will know... |

I've just picked this up and it's really a very fun read. Now it's waiting until May to get the second volume...ugh...impatience.
This is bishie heaven I must say, I've never spent so much time just staring at a page before...*daydreaming* It's up to 4 volumes in Japan...I can see this turing into an anime when (or if) enough volumes come out. If you ask me there are simply not enough anime about bishie vampires... Anyway, thought I'd put in my two cents for this manga and revive a thread.... plus here's some eye candy, cause it's always fun, right? Spoiler for eye candy:

I really like Vampire Knight, it has a really dark environment and great suspense, I also see this manga getting an anime conversion when enough volumes come out. Its a great read even if your not a shoujo reader (and you can stand seeing bishies all the time ).

Read the first 4 volumes of this one and I like it.
First time I see vampires and humans trying to interact and co-exist together like normal people. It's like a high school manga with some romance and drama, but this time with vampires. A shame only the first 4 volumes are out now. |

I like the art (of course) and the characterization, in other words I like that it's good well-articulate shoujo.
The plot is a bit slow and depressing and by the latest scanlated chapter the main conflict, that Spoiler for Info revealed in first several chapters:
Spoiler for Events in the series:

Spoiler for About Kaname:
Also, Yuki being so completely indecisive about how she feel about anything related to Zero or Kaname kinda throws me off, it's like I have no basis for how to think about the love triangle plot. (Kinda like Fruits Basket I guess, except that I don't follow Fruits Basket for romance, in fact I don't care for romance between Tohru and any of the characters in that series.) I like shoujo that is less subjective and less totally focused on how the characters think they might feel about one another at any given time. But it's still a good series that I enjoy following, and I'd be able to read it at this pace for a while yet before I became tired.

Bloody Hell...
|
I've read a bit of it in Shojo Beat and got to read the first half while loitering in Hastings, but it worries me that only a handful of volumes are out in Japan (I have no idea how long the series is going to be anyway). At this rate, America will catch up in no time, then I will be impatiently awaiting the next volume. So I'm hesitant to pick it up because I know I'll be upset that I have to wait forever for the next release, and yet at the same time... it's just so awesome. Damn the choices.

im reading into volume 6 at the moment and i am quite addicted to the series
Kaname surely is the kind of person that has a dark side hidden in his shadow, much like a snake lol as for other events things change a little as they are still in development as for the love triangle, yes there surely is a love triangle going on.. however it makes me think more of Fruits Basket's Kyo - Tohru - Yuuki lol Spoiler for as for Zero's bloodthirst:
Spoiler for Future plot involving Zero, not to be linked to the above spoilers:
