OMG our little Nanami is totally crushing on Tomoe.
That cold of hers didn't help her school life much.. Tomoe taking her place at school as a double was just ROFL Kurama hitting on Nanami/Tomoe was beyond funny! It was even funnier how Kurama was confused by "Nanami's" behavior towards him. Mizuki's surprise visit was interesting. It gave her another perspective of Tomoe.

Why has nobody commented about Kurama's "English"?
Really, I couldn't understand what was he saying And then one girl was saying that his English was so perfect Is Suwabe Junichi the one who voiced the King? I'm not sure.

Yeah, Kurama's entrance was funny with that BGM he sang. Gotta love Kurama's BGM in this ep. Quote:
...and throughout this ep I was thinking...poor turtle-san.

Turning a Tengu into turkey, and a fish...Thingy into food makes sense, but I didn't expect Tomoe to turn that tongue demon into a lollipop That's certainly one of the more original ways of exorcising demons I've seen
...For all that had gone on during the episode, why was the only thing I left remembering is Tomoe sticking the turtle's head into his mouth ?!?

Well, the "English" bit wasn't meant to be serious, I think it's more like poking fun at fan-girls screaming perfection at whatever the idols do. ....and yes, that's Suwabe Junichi |

So do you think we'll see that "other" Tomoe in the contemporary story? My guess is that he'll lose control at some point, and his bad boy self will appear, posing big problems for Nanami. I wouldn't be surprised if it happened at school either.
What kind of relationship would a human and a yokai have anyway? Like lollipop boy, they all seem remarkably focused on human girls, though I can't tell whether they want to f**k them or eat them. Maybe the first as an appetizer and the latter as the main course? The lollipop seemed highly appropriate, and the turtle scene at the end had me laughing out loud, too. Are we supposed to think Kurama can actually sing, or is that a parody of boy idols? His singing was not a whole lot better than his English in my mind.

^ I'd like to think that the writers were well aware of how awful his English was and were just making fun of it as well as how blind fangirls (and fanboys) can be.
As for the question of human and yokai relationships, perhaps the show will present an example of one besides the main pairing. That would be interesting. |

The Kurama English scene surprised me because it did happen in the manga (but you only saw English words) and I thought they were going to make him "perfect". The way the anime made it was very funny though.

I just caught up with the latest episodes, and if there was ever any question who my favorite character is in this show... XDDD Kurama is hilarious, and deep down, under all that posing and being pretentious, he's actually a pretty nice guy. If a bit dumb. XD ("Don't call me a tengu! I'm trying to pose as a fallen angel here!" is still my favorite line. XD)
Mizuki, well, I hoped he would get better but he's still yandere... XDDD;; Also, in ep 6 when Nanami was like "someone is here!" I pretty much went "YES, IT'S SUWABE JUNICHI! HE'S HERE! KYAAAA!" XDDD;;; I wonder if we'll see him again... (I suppose the character shows up in the manga eventually as part of Tomoe's backstory.) |

Well I think that both Kurama's wonderful Engrish and singing... emmm... technique were shown that way on purpose. Perhaps he can actually sing, but he was trying to woo Nanami and... well, that's what came out I laughed hard though, because hearing the way everyone sang the song and then Kurama's... unique rendition of the it, coupled with everyone's reaction just cracked me up XDD And the Engrish before that... honestly, I wouldn't have understood what he said if it weren't for the subs.
Well, I've read the manga, so I won't comment much on the plot and such, but I'm just very happy with how the anime is turning out. The manga has such a delicate balance of, well, a lot of things, and if you focuse on one of them too much, it might become too fluffy and even annoying. But I must say that the 20 minutes we get every week are a pure joy to watch So, hopefully, it will be like that in the future too. |
