Rage votes are a thing. That's why Trump was even given the chance to become the Republican representative.

Like I said in my previous post it's all about context. A lot of people here are fed up with the slow wheels of justice and all sorts of people getting away with all sorts of injustices. My own grandfather was murdered 12 years ago 3 feet from his front door and the killer has yet to even be found.

To many Filipinos the end justifies the means at this point.

When one goes to a meeting with several leaders from different countries with different cultures, there is no room for contextual ambiguities. The truth remains that Duterte is a *insert expletive here* because of all the things he said about more than one person (including the freaking Pope!). Can you imagine how the world media would have reacted if the POTUS publicly said Putin is this or Chinese officials are that? There is a decorum for world leaders to respect when talking about other world leaders and ambassadors in public, FFS.

I'm kind of surprised Duterte gets away with insulting Pope Francis of all people in the Philippines.

In any case I think your country will regret the blood spilled in the future. His kind never really solves problem. They kill innocents, parade their corpses around, and call it a victory, maybe take down a real big shot or two, and leave the root causes intact to fester again. Short term reigns of terror sound like they could solve everything (see: Trump, Donald), but crime is a systems problem not an extermination problem.

Very much this. The way people who are designated as drug addicts are also killed in that mess reeks of total ignorance. There is a reason why addicts are sent to therapy and cure; you want those people to return to a more normal life as workers and taxpayers. What Duterte does is no different to try getting rid of alcoholism by allowing alcoholics to be killed by mobs. It just doesn't make any sense.

And guess what. Duterte's comments led to some backlash on the Philippine Stock Exchange Index. Congratulations, you genius (sarcasm intended).

Rodrigo Duterte's Obama insult costs Philippines stock market hundreds of millions

The list kind of should have stopped at #1, all the rest is basically meaningless. We're all bloody poor as hell. We can barely afford to live ourselves, there's barely any promise of financial improvement in the future and people expect us to worry about progeny? It might seem strange given that we aren't starving but we also can't afford homes like the previous generation could so we are basically turning into urban nomads.

The world economy is out of whack now. Too few have too much while the others are grasping at straws and the older generations continue whistling along complaining about the damn millennials who can't do anything right in their eyes. *sigh*

And because, for the first time in human history, the old outnumber the young nothing gets changed because democracies are effectively dictatorships of the many and the old and many don't grasp the problem. It's no wonder people call millennials selfish, their parents are probably one of the most selfish generations to ever grace this earth. /end_rant

Well I'm planing to have some little people at some point, but most of the best parents I've seen started latter anyway.. so why rush? I do fall into the camp of not having kids is something your likely to regret latter... since most of the much older people I've met who fall into that grouping seem to feel like that.

It is a quirk of biology that the best time to create a baby biologically is early twenties, but the best time to raise a child is likely when the parents are in their 40's with the life experience, stable finances and mental maturity.

If there is a way to safely have healthy offspring when we are in our 40's, I think the majority of people would take up that option over doing it when they are still climbing the career ladder.

'Motherless babies possible as scientists create live offspring without need for female egg.'

Quote:
Motherless babies could be on the horizon after scientists discovered a method of creating offspring without the need for a female egg.

The landmark experiment by the University of Bath rewrites 200 years of biology teaching and could pave the way for a baby to be born from the DNA of two men.

It was always thought that only a female egg could spark the changes in a sperm required to make a baby, because an egg forms from a special kind of cell division in which just half the number of chromosomes are carried over.

Sperm cells form in the same way, so that when a sperm and egg meet they form a full genetic quota, with half our DNA coming from our mother and half from our father.

But now scientists have shown embryos could be created from cells which carry all their chromosomes which means that, in theory, any cell in the human body could be fertilised by a sperm.

Three generations of mice have already been created using the technique and are fit and healthy and now researchers are planning to test out the theory using skin cells.

So they are working on ways to propagate the species with both two women or two men, so that if either one or the other suddenly vanished, the species could continue regardless?

They only can create egg cell, so male sperm still need.

I don't understand why you think playing god is a bad idea to begin with.

Humanity had been playing Devil for as long as humanity existed, playing god would balance it out.

#2, not #1. Though number 7 (career) is a good reason too.

I wouldn't even phrase it like that though, since it makes it sound like the rest aren't worth mentioning because the first 2 are so strong. In reality, the other 6 are just awful reasons that are only included to pad the article.
