Kotori is an interesting one. Before the revelation that she was a spirit in the LN I suspect people were kinda annoyed (Me personally I found kotori to be irritating) but as a spirit she gained popularity cause she goes from annoying sister to really hot spirit (no pun intended). besides lets face it her whole organization has been more troublesome then helpful in half the situations so far

Haha I'm in the same boat. I actually was a bit annoyed at her but as the show progress and the general seriousness of the show goes up, I started to like her more and more and then finally her spirit form finally shows. Bam! Instant awesome. It seems Ratatoskr in generally started out in the story as a a comedic tool AS well as the source of information for what is going on in this world. As the series progress and things become more serious, Ratatoskr started shifting from the usual comedy to a more serious role which also included Kotori. I mean initially some even did not notice why the 180 Degrees change in Kotori's personality corresponds with her hair ribbons which is a nice touch.

It was rather amusing seeing the usually timid-to-a-fault Yoshino taking the initiative but then again, that's the charm of her character. She does show affection towards him but isn't as open as the rest of the Spirits at least. Shidou must still however be more aware around girls (he actually walked off ahead of Yoshino without noticing she was wearing clogs), so Kotori was right to lampshade his denseness near the beginning. It seems though, that whenever Yoshino is involved, Yoshinon will be lost at some point of time, causing her to wail and in turn, causing a sudden downpour.

Tohka was also adorable, especially her earnest efforts to not get in the way of Shidou's date. She's still emotionally dependent on him (to be fair, just about all the sealed Spirits bar Kotori are) but at least she recognises that Yoshino won (unexpectedly I must add) during that competition in Volume 4. She was really enjoying herself a little too much though, with her usual gluttonous ways.

One of the more entertaining parts was the part where Origami and Tohka had that competition between them, and Kotori hiding from Origami saying "I don't wish to see her right now" had that bit of continuity from Volume 4, which I felt was a nice little touch.

so we could pretty much say the yoshino one would be after 4 but before 5 then..

This is speculation but the "Strongest Spirit" is probably the "First" that came to our world.
The MC (Shido) has the power to seal the power of Spirits inside himself through a kiss. He also has the ability to use the powers and the Angels of the Spirits whose powers' he has sealed.

It seems like Kotori's Spirit is the most OP AFAIK, can even defeat Kurumi single-handed. And possibly the first came into the world.

BTW, any more info of how Shido use his Spirit power?

Yes like the others said, it's probably the 1st whose appearance and subsequently the space quake took so many lives. In terms of the current spirits, it would definitely be Kotori. I highly doubt Kotori even used half of her powers and already she was stomping Kurumi. Plus the fact that Kotori haven't used her powers in years... At the same time I think Tohka might also be a really strong one as well but I'm not very sure yet.

The fact that Kotori said she will have to personally kill Shidou if he ever fully activates his angel's abilities really does say something. Dang that's a horrible situation for Kotori though...
