Child has black hair...
I kinda get a lingering suspicion oO
Is the father... Yakumo? The Child's Eye color and hair color from the intro would fit.

Oh good heavens, no. That's way too soap opera-like, and takes the story way out of the territory it wants to explore.

We may never find out who the biological father is. It's not really relevant.

Suddenly realized I did not post in this thread!

It is so good to have this series back again ... some more outstanding work by the VAs too. Yotaro really does seem to be coming into his own.

I especially liked the scene on the bridge. ^^

Not to mention it would be as creepy as the ending of another manga, which is to say, super creepy. Yakumo is like a father to her, although her feelings about him are mixed since she holds him responsible for the death of her parents.

Plus Yakumo is asexual/aromantic for all practical purposes, so getting anyone pregnant would be completely out of character.

I can die happy now that I've heard Seki Tomokazu trying to impersonate Ishida Akira.

God I love this anime so much, so glad it's back.

Yota-chan still got a long way to go before he finds his own Raguko. That he got hardcore fans from the former Raguko-speaker who's name he took who criticize his every work doesn't help. Neither does his desperation to create something on his own. To strip naked during a story, dang what a flop...

The baby is growing up so quickly, so precious and lively~ <3

Episode 2

So there are rumours spreading around about Yotaro's past and it's affecting him badly. He isn't getting work and he's a bit in a slump. They showed the whole performance to show that Yotaro isn't going well. The part where everyone was supposed to laugh didn't get even a smile. And Yotaro half stripped to boot. He now has to overcome this problem by facing his past and accepting it. And that writer guy once came to Yakumo as an apprentice but wasn't taken in and now he's back. He wants rakugo to flourish and not go to Yakumo's grave. And he knows a lot. Now to see how Yotaro overcomes the problems he's facing.

This show is as fascinating as ever. Loved the sequence with Konatsu and Yakumo. Konatsu has been the reason Yakumo kept living, while at the same time wanting to die by her hands.

With watching S1, you can really feel the age Yakumo is piling on in episode 3. He was downright exhausted after performing at the end for the guy.

Konatsu very guarded and frigid towards Yotaro, so determined not to fall to love she rather not get attached at all.

The mystery about the kid's father was solved. No wonder Konatsu didn't want to reveal his identity to anybody. She simply couldn't. With this episode, she has finally accepted Yota as her husband and her kid's father. Yota is such a good guy, she'd be crazy to let him slip away.

Going by the preview, we're in for another timeskip. Curious to find out what little Shin is like.

I really hope this Maury level "you're the father!" shenanigans have been resolved, and it never comes back now that Konatsu has acknowledged Kotaro to be the daddy. I also get that she's got a kid now, but I hope she picks up the rakugo mantle up again soon.

"You're hearing Daddy's rakugo now, Shin-chan."
Daaaaaaawww~ <3
Glad Yota-chan said what he had on his heart to the Big Yakuza boss, although it was really risky, like come on, you don't rant that way at a guy who own like half the town and some more!
Yakumo's performance was top-notch again, also looks like Yota-chan is discovering his own rakugo more and more.
Shin-chan looks really pretty, that boy gonna break a lot of women hearts in his life, simply by passing them by. xD

Episodes 2 and 3:
Damn, it's sucks that Sukeroku's previous gangster life is turning his audience away. On the other hand, loved how he made a rakugo-like rant towards his former big boss that he's amazed by it!

Still, I think the 3rd Generation Sukeroku is starting to have his own style of rakugo. The question is will the crowd like it?

Gosh, it's because of series like this that I still love anime until now, despite the diminishing quality of each passing season. In the future I'll feel extremely upset if such anime won't get produced anymore because such anime makes no money .

Anyway, that confrontation scene with the yakuza boss was intense yet spectacular. I wasn't too invested with Yotarou's character before, but that scene showed many layers of him that make him such a strong-willed and respectable man, as well as showing the evolving of his rakugo style, which is definitely different from Yakumo's and the predecessor Sukeroku's, and I can't wait to see a more refined version of that.

And that Ikonori, it was so amazing to watch and at the same time made my heart ache seeing how much in pain Yakumo was in for reciting the performance of the predecessor Sukeroku.

Episode 4:

Pretty interesting episode.

We got more focus on Konatsu again and her kid. She's really grown to a mature woman this season and I like her character chemistry with Yotarou. It's like they have this sort of love-hate relationship going on. We got to see a rakugo performance as well this episode. Is it just me or does Yotaru seem even more energetic than usual? Lol. I think it's because he is performing in front of a younger audience.

Konatsu's talent also shouldn't be underestimated. I think she did very well. Hope to see her perform again in the future!

Daaaaaaaaaaamn, those episodes are always over in a flash! <3
I love their son, he's a rakugo genius! I love how Yota-chan is having big success and full house for each of his shows and how he is in big demand! I love how good and happy Konatsu-san was at Rakugo for the kids! And I love that Jugemu story with the long long name for the boy! <3
I hope this doesn't end in tears like with Yakumo in his youth...

Yakumo's plan to take rakugo to the grave with him is pretty much screwed now. Yotaro is more popular than ever, Konatsu may start rakugo as well which could usher a new era, and little Shin is already displaying talent befitting his grandpa.

Shin is going to grow up to be such a heartbreaker. He's so young and he already has everyone fawning over him, and he knows how to take advantage of it, consciously or not.

Those two actually make a good couple lol.
Makes you wonder whether both have learned that they also have to act the part by now.

Episode 5:

That was a really strong episode this week.

We got imo one of the most memorable rakugo performances yet performed by Yakumo. He still has it but that ending has my worried. Still, I think he still has the passion to perform and I'm proud that he did so this episode. I guess his health may prevent him from performing again? I'd love to see him perform again this season.
