No wonder why Diana doesn't like Akko. Akko is more beautiful than her

I second that motion!

If that is how she looks to Andrew, there's no way he wouldn't be interested in her...

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

So Chariot is losing her powers? I wonder what happened?

Chariot was absolutely beautiful and awesome during the fight. In a way, it may be nice if Chariot is the MC and not Akko. I find Akko's characterization and slow, slow growth is dragging on a bit.

Maybe it's simply that she doesn't have the shiny rod, so there are powers she has no access to anymore.

It could just be that Chariot's out of practice. Once you feel you've failed your goal, you start slacking since there's no drive anymore.

Yeah, I think she was implying simply that she might be out of practice. When you're at the top level of your profession, 10 years without doing it at that level will throw you out of whack no matter how good you are. Also, if magic is anything like sports, being a 20-something might be your physical peak, and if after that you slack off age will catch up. Chariot uses magic but she's also very physical - she jumps, kicks and so on.

I think I'm noticing a pattern here.

Both Croix, Diana and Chariot both won the broom race and Moon Lit Witch. Akko hasn't won yet.

However when you take into account others opinion on Chariot, it's possible that Chariot, after studying hard and develop the abilities she's able to that she won two of those titles. If the trend continues, Akko will do the same.

I doubt the broom race and the festival are going to be revisited, but Akko definitely has a lot more in common with Chariot than we initially thought. We had been led to believe Chariot was a genius at first, but now we know she started off with atrocious grades and worked her way up like Akko is doing now. That's part of why Ursula is so fond of Akko, she reminds her of her past self.

Wow, the BD is an upscaled mess. There is no real benefit from the BD version over the stream version. The official English subtitles are good, but sometimes too literal, simplified or a miss. The fansubs stay more consistent while the official subtitles do a better job occasionally.

I got some screenshots to compared:

Title is gone:

The stream version is from an actual video file, not a stream screenshot that was captured during playback. The BD version is obviously from the BDMV. If you were watching both versions on TV, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference in video quality. My brother thought that the BD looked the same, and saw no difference.

So is it worth it? Yes and no depending on what you are looking for.

It's my first time using screenshotcomparison. I did my best to get the same frame for each one, sorry for any inconsistency.

Episode 16

Four Down, Three to Go.

Although I didn't understand why Akko revert back to being impatient until I realize that is the joke. Due to the short time span, Akko is unable to gulp everything up.

Or....Her search may have taken her to places where she needed to defend herself with skills other than magic.

Little Witch Academia Episode 16 Analysis

The overall episode I believe jabs at the idea of rushed plot or slow pacing. Many fans have complained how slow the plot and the numerous ‘fillers’ it has and Trigger might have intentionally created this episode that centre around those ideas. We see the introduction of Lotte’s parents but were quickly put back in the backseat and the journey in getting the ingredients were very short. Akko briefly forgetting the lesson that she had just now shows the self-awareness of her character.

However, if we looked at the episode from Akko’s point of view, she did learn her lesson. She saw a brief reflection of herself on the Yeti who was pushed down by society and realized how the audience felt about her when she lacked progress and this turns her character to be more supportive like Ursula has done; be patient. The lesson continues as the reindeer grew fed up left her on her own, Akko attempts the journey back and getting reminded by those she cares about shows that by the end of the day, her bonds will ultimately helped her push through despite her faults. The plot was a long one from a certain point of view but if you removed the long and boring scenes, you can tell that it really felt rushed.

Croix’s goal in using the emotions for an uncertain goal represents something. In her first appearance, she uses emotion, red for anger. Next was yellow for happy. The third was sadness which associate with purple or in this case violet. Croix is definitely having carrying a project that associates with….rainbows. In many cultures, rainbows have very important roles. In Norse, the rainbow bridge Bifrost that connect Midgard, Earth with Asgard, home of the Gods. In other cases, the messenger or the archer’s bow in Hindu. In Australia, there is a belief of a Rainbow Serpent who is the creator of worlds. Others would have spoken that Rainbow is a sign of a great change, the time when all races come together to heal the Earth. There are many more if you look it up.

I don't think so. Croix doesn't try "mix" colours, but rather looking for strongest one.I think she is simply going for Monster inc. way of obtaining magic here.

She probably isn't evil per se, but she is betting n wrong side of force. And once "anger" as source of energy get out of her hands...

I doesn't have to be literal but yeah Croix is trying to find the strongest emotion to use the Rod which will most likely fail much like how Diana couldn't understand Akko.

I think this wasn't just an episode for Akko to be patient but also an episode for the viewer to be patient. Looking closely, you notice subtle hints which parts Akko has changed for the better.

I ask all of you to find out and come back and show what you have found about Akko.

Anyone else feel that ED2 is pretty foreboding? Also, anyone think Ursula Callistis was a real person?

It's some pretty obvious foreshadowing, but I feel they already gave away what it means in one of the latest interviews.

Not gonna spoil it here though.

This episode felt kind of weak for a Word Revival episode.
