great episode, though i think it was drawn weird when danzo was "running" away....

that part with the 2nd hokage by itself makes this awesome

i'd love to see him fight

anyway, i skrewed up and rated it lower than i wanted by accident

I liked Danzou in the end and it's a shame to lose another person from that generation ;/

Danzo's speech regarding the difference between him and Hiruzen was exactly what made me annoyed that the English dub decided to translate "Root" as "Foundation."

sasuke stabbing karin was for major lulz, my respect for sasuke went up i guess

to be honest i was kinda rooting for sasuke, then danzo pulls a 180 with the ending and i end up liking him

no fair danzo, that's cheating

and yeah, sasuke really did look like a child molester when he was chasing danzo

well, not really chasing, but yeah...rape face

That was a really great episode. Perfect adaptation, although as others mentioned, the scene where Sasuke chases Danzou was intentionally hilarious. Sasuke looked like a total rapist.

Danzou's sudden 180 and his death felt a bit weird considering he's been hyped as a major enemy for ages. In the end, he didn't do much.

Kagami looked like Shisui

Great episode, the final speech was indeed epic, you can agreed or not with Danzou, but i can see in Danzou the Naruto obsessed trying to be as strong as Sasuke... Well Hiruzen was way more clever than Sasuke though

He was a menace for Naruto and his friends, but he was never really hyped as a major enemy. The enemy has always been Akatsuki's side, and Danzou was on Konoha's side in the fight against Akatsuki, so I don't think there was any sudden 180 in this episode.
His relationship with the third hokage was unexpected though.

I've had just about enough of sasuke winning.

The question ultimately becomes, if we can remove madara from the fight, and Danzo had the use of his right eye from the start of the fight would he have won?

Danzou always believed what he did was right for Konoha.

Kind of feels like he ultimately falls into the chaotic good frame.

BTW, was that the second Hokage's last battle? He died that day and Sarutobi became the third?

Well it's always easier to make a dying character likable. Show a good flashback of before they really went dark and then they die. After that they can't do anything evil anymore so you finish off on a good note with them.

It was kind of creepy watching Sasuke go after Danzo. I mean sure he's got to finish things but ummm...yeah with the music and that expression

.

And really what was Danzo doing taking Karin as a hostage. You're up against someone who's gone into the evil territory that much. I really wouldn't bet that he's going to hold back because you have a teammate. Sasuke really isn't part of Konoha anymore, that kind of thing isn't going to stop him.

Let's just hurry on to the Naruto and Sasuke fight that's coming eventually. I can't wait to see the ridiculous way that Naruto turns Sasuke and makes him see the error of his ways

I was also annoyed by that part. "Tree leaves bathing in the sun/Roots growing in the dark" is what it should have been.
Also I'm pretty sure Danzo would have won if Karin hadn't fed Sasuke her chakra at the end.

Excellent Episode, if you really think about it. Danzo is like a twisted version of Naruto.

Nice ep, great depiction.
A funky use of animation here and there but still great.
