The defining quality of an anti-hero is that they are the single most beastly ass-kicker in the series. If they die, they're a wannabe antihero.

I cite Magus and Shadow the Hedgehog, and Illidan in Warcraft 3 Reign of Chaos before blizzard screwed up his character.

Actually, anti-heroes are generally defined as protagonists that do not possess the traditional qualities of a hero.

He or she could be plain stupid, or deceitful and yet save the day in the end. They can die too. Kicking ass isn't exclusive to the non-do-gooders.

Certainly true. Protagonists that possess the traditional qualities of a hero usually appear in the Disney series, rarely do they appear in anime.

The FF Versus XIII trailer was so much better than the FFXIII one, the game, the setting, the presentation... and I can also add the touch of realism... it was IMPRESSIVE !!!

I loved the city shots... FF Versus XIII is a fresh breath of air... it does away with the usual "fantasy scenery and setting" and brings a harsh industrial and sci-fi oriented look to the game. I LOVE IT !

O_o...GORE?! Wow...FF13Vs = off the deep end. I'm sorry, but this is a first. FF13VS=as far away from what you'd expect from Final Fantasy as you could possibly get. Gore, guns, suits (AND TIES), and CARS?!

And our main character is Badass with a capital B.

I'm going to get me a PS3 just for these two games alone--as soon as they come out. I just hope I don't get fired from work for getting hooked on them =O

Edit: why do I have a feeling that FFXIII vs. is going to have an underlying theme of Noctis (our red-eyed badass main character) and his juxtaposition with Stella (that angelic looking girl that opposes him), who will inevitably be his love interest, and of course, who is slated for a tragic death or corruption of her light imagery before (or at) the end of the game on a more bitter than sweet ending?

Lightning looks much more femine this time

Gotta admit, Versus background setting is really close to ours. It does look 300 years late in technology conpare to FFXIII, though. Wonder how these two can be in the same universe setting? They look so different.

Noctis eyes drastically turned red when he uses his "power" But Stella eyes looked pretty normal to me. And she smiled at Noctis at the end

After watching this, Noctis does not seem to badass to me. The badass is the old man. He also beat the crap outta the young in hotness.

FF13VS=as far away from what you'd expect from Final Fantasy as you could possibly get. Gore, guns, suits (AND TIES), and CARS?!

Actually Nomura says Versus is more like a typical FF game than XIII...Map World, travel across mountains, oceans, go into dungeons, kill summon beasts, etc.
