(L) Hakuouki: Shinsengumi Kitan anime (Seasons 1 & 2)

I did not think that the horned girl is Chizuru, but because I'm all about curiosity, I went over to the official game website and then to Minitokyo to look at scans.

1) Souji
2) Chizuru
3) Hajime

I know Shiroth wouldn't be happy if they made Chizuru that way. I personally think it's a different girl because the ED scenes show each Shinsengumi with a rival in the background. If it's Chizu, why is she shown in the background of only Okita? And she doesn't feel like "main character" status in that scene, so it doens't make a lot of sense to me.

@Irisiel: for once I am NOT clicking a spoiler for a series. Although I'm a bit familiar with the game, I'm still in the dark with many major parts of the plot and I want to keep it that way. Although that spoiler tag is very tempting. *hand twitches* ...oh this is going to be hard.

Ah, my bad, sorry (Though it was links to images, and speculation around those images)! Though from what I could tell from the images, the story seems to become more interesting later on. (Is that vague enough?) But I guess that's the curse of being a game adaptation, since we are still in the "tutorial/introduction" place in the game. *Remembers the looooong introduction/tutorial-phase of Final Fantasy: Unlimited, which killed the anime once it started to pick up the pace.*

Spoiler for Episode 2:

They did almost completely reproduce one of Hajime's CGs in the episode. Here's to hoping that the quality will keep up, and not drop like the Titanic after the first three episodes.

So far it seems like the story tries to set up a status quo to upset later on.

Yeah you bring up a great point there, and i think it's pretty clear now that the woman behind Okita isn't Chizuru. I for one am happy about that.

Watched most of epi 2 raw needed to see Saito cooking. I kept thinking how Okita sounded a lot like Ginji from GetBackers...yeah same seiyuu Thats now at least 3 GB seiyuu's also doing this.

That'd actually be really interesting if it was Chizuru. I doubt it though.

Extremely similar clothing, hair style too. Although it could be like a split personality or something. She looks evil , I want a protagonist that's willing to do whatever it takes regardless of ethics sometimes.
Or.. maybe I just want Chizuru to have a REAL HAREM .

Oh, and no love for Isami? He's pretty cute ~

I'm sure it's not Chizuru but that brings about a question...why the similar appearance? Same clothing could mean they are similar in social status, and by the look of their get-ups, I'd say it's high social ranking - royalty maybe? But that contradicts the humble scenery in her flashbacks. Chizuru's sister...twin maybe?

We're only on episode 2 and I'm already throwing out too many questions and predictions. Anyone know how many episodes are slotted for this series? Last time I checked on ANN, they listed 13...I hope there are more than that.

I'm really warming upto the cast thanks to this episode, and because of that has become one of my favorite shows of the season. Not to mention how i'm liking the plot progress, which had me glued to the screen.

Hijikata is probably my favorite male of the series, and i quite like Okita as well. Interesting on how he'll develop eventually. Chizuru is still just an adorable little button though. When you think about all the good looking men around her, she fits in perfectly.

& Ko Otani score still impresses. I love what i've hearing in this episode.

When it come to Shinsengumi, I'm usually an Okita fangirl. But this time Hijikata and Saitou are just to die for.

I'd venture a guess that it was Okita that tied him to the bed ... for the sake of improving his knot tying skills. And from how poor Chizuru was bound in epi 1, he must have practiced a lot.

Just watched a subbed version of episode 2.

Spoiler for episode 2:

It was good, held my attention the whole time. At first I thought it would be slow but I find the pace to be good. It lets you get a real feel for each character, and seeing how they interact and live in the first one and a half episodes really lets you develop attachments to these guys. Already I think I'd feel really sad if any one of them were to die now.

I'm totally loving this series. I really like Chizuru. Not only is she pretty and innocent but the girl has guts as well!
