I don't know exactly what kind of anime I want to watch, but I'm searching for a good one.

My favorite series (in order):
Code Geass
Shakugan no Shana
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni

Hmmm...

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni makes me think you'd like Madoka Magica.

Clannad suggests to me you'd like Cross Game and Ano Hana.

Some others you might have already seen, but I might as well suggest since they aren't on your list.:

Well here is something that might catch your attention:
Code Geass = Full Metal Panic
Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai = Love Hina
Death Note = Aoi Bungaku Series (a set of small stories, each pne is different but still has similar theme going on)
Angel Beats = Kore wa Zombie Desu ka?
Clannad (+ AF) = AnoHana, Toradora
Shiki = Ghost Hunt (by the same author)

Code Geass- Linebarrels of Iron - To me its not that great but I wasnt a big fan of Code geass either. Its a Mecha and the guy in Linebarrels goes crazy over power like Code Geass
Death Note- I think of Darker Than Black and Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom because they have the same atmosphere and they all have tons of killing involved. Also In the outside world, they are normal people but when they are in action, they are killing machines.
