I thought the first 15 minutes were pretty bland. The animation is nothing to write home about and the blah action speed chase/robbing the bank part was not helping things.
However the moment that we find out all the hostages were murdered without explanation, was when the episode picked up a lot for me. I'm interested in the world, the main character, and his dad as well. It's not often that we see what life is like for vampires who lose the war against humanity (but are not exterminated) and what life is like for them afterward in a human society. And from what we've seen, it's about how I expected. I'm intrigued enough to watch further. at least for now.

Episode 1
I picked this up on a whim and I couldn't find myself invested enough here. For starters, the car chase in the start didn't feel like a high speed car chase where everyone is flying at over 300 kph. The characters didn't come off as interesting enough. Mi Liu is a special child born from a human dad and bloodivore mom and he's special or whatever. The rest of the gang felt kinda boring. The girl wasn't even cute enough. The setting didn't feel like it was properly introduced. The ending wasn't much of a cliffhanger because firstly we have the opening sequence where they're all alive, then we have the next episode preview too so we know they're gonna be alive. First episodes should make a good impression and this particular first episode didn't make that good an impression on me. |

Ep 01
Welllllll ... not my sort of thing. to be honest I stopped it before the episode finished. Also I vaguely remember reading a very similar story some time ago, which was an odd dim memory to experience. Anyhoo, dropped for now.

Judging by the way the preview for the next episode is, I'm getting a Deadman Wonderland vibe. Either way this was a crappy first episode, I might watch the next one mainly because this episode really didn't do anything other than introduce a couple characters and did nothing to explain the world

Yep, most part of the episode wasn't good, but the end had a good turn of events, since I didn't want another series with standard vampires.
Usually this kind of twist, presenting a scenario and then suddenly completely changing it, may be quite risky, I've already seen shows with an outstanding first episode that devolved in something mediocre. But since this was a mediocre episode there's hope it get better. The next setting surely are more interesting than the one presented in ep 1.

Well this was better but the quality is bad and the censorship sucks... but it was an interesting survival game instead killing each other they need to survive some monsters, maybe bloodivores full form or something.
3 chapter rule, let's see the next one. |

Interesting continuation. I wonder what's going on at this "prison town" and what's the point of it all? Also, I find it interesting that Mi Liu's father is the Bloodivore and his mother is the human. I was sure it was the other way around. But now I have to think that the mother is either dead, or crazy evil. The dad was trying to protect his son in some way, and it seemed like it was the mother who seemed to plant all her hopes in him being the "child of peace" and she might have gone off the deep end if her "experiment" didn't turn out the way it was supposed to.
And "hemomancer"? lol
