Sounds like a good companion show next to Mon-Musu .

They can easily make filler episodes since it's slice of life.

I really love this manga, is relaxing and comfy at the same time. On a side note... reminds me there is no Monmusume S2...

I hope Lerche pick this up, they did an amazing job with Monmusume.

By the way .... depending on what you mean by "companion show", this series is actually a bit more ... hmm ... how shall I say? ... "conversational" and characterized by "inquiry" and even a little bit of "research" in an amateur scholarly way.

Not that it is dry. Not at all. I actually find it quite interesting, being a sort of modern take on the demi-humans mentioned. There is another demi-human not mentioned in the summary but who is represented in the image though (not sure why she was left out of the listing), and that is a "Yuki Onna", or a "Snow Woman" ... of the demi-humans she is actually my favorite, though they are all interesting and endearing.

If the anime studio pulls the adaptation off one with care and deftness it could be really, really good.

Oh Hikari looks pretty adorable there =03. As long as Takahashi is built like the truck he is, I'd be pretty fine with anything, but this looks a bit cuter than the manga designs, so I hope they pull his look off well.

There isn't that much source material(based on the # of manga chapters) so either its gonna be one of those short-episode series, or a hell of a lot of filler. I do hope for the latter, just so long as the quality of the story remains the same =03.

Sounds pretty neat! I'm torn on whether to hunt down the source material immediately, or to go in blind later...

The premise reminds me (loosely) of Dr Hitomi's Infirmary. I wonder how far off I am...

Dr. Hitomi's Infirmary is way more fanservice'y ... and in some ways way less given to "inquiry".

I would actually put the Dr. Hitomi manga much more in the ballpark of Monster Musume....

Ah, thanks for the insight. If what you said is true then Demi-chan will make an even better companion show to Mon-musu coz it will focus on different angle and have different approach on exploring their subject while still share the same theme which is understanding the monster girls.

Flower and Sound of Azure already alluded to this but I really hope this is a trend and we get an adaptation of Hitomi-Chan's Monster Infirmary too.

For some reason reading this and looking at your current avy I could not help but giggle.

But in any event I would not be surprised if it were adapted, even if it is not really my cup of tea. To be honest of the three this series is definitely the most interesting for me ... am curious to see more info on the adaptation as it is trickled out ... we got the character designs of one of the Demi already - looking forward to the others.

Took a bit to read through the translated manga chapters. There aren't very many of them so it didn't take long. Something about Hikari's face in this design looks... off to me, but I can't pin down what it is. It'll probably be fine.

Also this series is adorable and interesting, and I hope it's done well.

lol I am keeping this icon at least until I finally am able to watch Selector Destructed over here in North America (which feels like it will be years at this rate )

To be honest I only read a few chapters of this manga a while back so I guess now that it's getting an anime I will have to go back and catch up on it. It was just one of those things I read when it was first being released and then never bothered to keep up with.

She is moe-ified, I think.

Hikari actually looked a bit more like a brat in the manga. Flat shoulder, square chins, have slightly bigger head (indicating her short height) and generally chubby by anime standard.

Literally a good (maybe?) thing about this manga is the girl body of everyone (the teacher aside) was very distinctive of undeveloped high school~ish with lack of curves (everywhere not only on their chests and bums) instead of what we are more used to. For example here is a picture of Hikari's body (from behind). Notice how it's flat everywhere, on her waist, lower body, legs, and arms

On the series, I think Demi-chan actually is A LOT different to Mon-sumu. As one is seinen SoL while the other is more romcom shounen.
