I know how when we all read the manga, we make up in our mind what we think the characters sound like.
I think most of the seiyuu (voice actors) were pretty good for Naruto.
Still, was there anyone that you were suprised at when you first heard their voice?
Mine was Temari. I thought her voice sounded odd at first. It's too deep.
I love her seiyuu, but I always immagined her having a tough voice..
that was girly but also sort of smart-ass.. like Asuka, maybe?

Anyways, were you ever suprised by any of the voices, or just didn't like them?

I didn't like the Itachi one... I'm getting used to it though, but it should've been a bit brighter and smoother... Not a lot of people have been introduced in the anime after the point where I started reading the manga, so I wouldn't know about the other voices. Kisame is good enough, I guess. Never had any expectations of him...

Shizune's voice is a little odd in my opinion. Well, I guess I'll get used to it.

I also though Itachi would sound different. I think Jairaya sound weird at first. He doesn't sound like a 50 year old person to me.

Shizune

She is incredibly annoying. Her voice just makes my ears hurt.

I didn't like Shizune's voice at first but it's growing on me, really funny at least =P

Usually the voices grow on me. As for fitting, Itachi's voice sounds nice and menacing but I think it may be too developed for a 17 year old. Or at least they should have given him a younger voice in the flashbacks when he was around 13.

The first time he had spoken with his true voice, everybody was O_O

Actually a whole bunch of them, when the first episode of Naruto came out, I thought that the voice of Naruto was awful, same thing with Sakura, etc.

Well, I'd have to say Oro as well like what Hunter said. It just didn't seem to fit. But I guess that's just my opinion

I think some of the boy's voices should have been done by a girl seiyu because they sound a bit too old sometimes.

I have to say I am pretty impressed with their jobs at picking voice actors. I am very happy with what they have chose so far, I don't think any of them don't fit or are annoying. Those of you who don't like Itachi's voice....I think his voice fits him PERFECTLY, it's great....same with oro. Most of the voices are even better than what I would expect. Japanese tend to pick really good voice actors, and then americans like me totally ruin it when its translated by 4kids =D

i could see why u think temari's voice sounds a little deep, temari's voice actor also does the voices for ren tao (shaman king), edward elric (fma), and that green haired smaurai from samurai 7, which are all guy characters

I wasn't a manga reader, so I didn't have an expectation for Orochimaru's voice when I saw him, but when I did, I thought his voice fit perfectly. Dark, evil, and kind've "rough," he's got a very unique voice, very odd, just as I would imagine him.

no then you would get annoying voices like (kid gohan in dbz us version i allways mute the tv when he says something) it would make me stop watching naruto if they gave them the kid voices, probably because i would get the feeling i'm watching a childrens show and then i would be ashamed for watching naruto.

Somehow, Sasuke's younger version didn't match too well given the current one.
It seemed like it was fluxing between having a voice drop and not(do you guys get that around 7?! I'm female, I don't know these things.

)

Oro's voice is rather remarkable, considering Oro's seiyuu is an old woman.

I don't think any voices have really gone so far as to ruin a character yet.
I'll have to hear the Sound 4's voices again. That won't be too far from now.
