Well it's pretty obvious heroine will be boring one. I would look forward to it much more, if her name were Raptor, Harrier or at least Mig. Gripen simply isn't enough to make for good character...

- ...maybe if she were an F-16...?

Now you're making me retitle this into "How to Raise a Boring Multirole Fighter"...

Did Saab fund this show as a marketing strategy?

Well, you could argue it's dazzle camouflage. Like enemypilots are going to have a split second of "WTF" long enough for the ripen to get the jump on them...

...oh, the humor just writes itself and he series hasn't even started airing yet...

Gripen, the cute Fighter Jet girl who is actually quite capable and affordable but because she's not a mega-popular idol like Raptor or Eurofighter she often gets overlooked...oh wait, am I going into spoiler territory?

One question remains. Why the hell does JASDF have a Gripen? Don't they, like, buy their birds from Mitsubishi?

In the second world war the RAF flew pink Spitfires on early or late reconnaissance missions as the pink made them very difficult to see against cloud.

Though that was more a pastel pink.

- I'm betting that in this future Sci Fi world, the JASDF Commander is probably a big jet fighter otaku and basically purchased one jet girl of each make and model.

They only have one Gripen-chan, after all!

Originally, I thought this anime is another Muv Luv Alternative, in which each robot is model after one current jet fighter. It's not Yukikaze either.

The character description says otherwise. The character description reminds me about Arpeggio of Blue Steel. Each anima rare Gripen(JAS-39), Eagle(F-15J), Phantom(RF-4EJ), Viper(F2), Rhino(F/A-18E), Berkut (Su-47), Rafale, Sukhoi (Su-27), Mikoyan (MiG-29E), and Su-57. I wonder how well they are gonna animate these planes. Last time I saw the anime featuring real world plane was F-4 in Gate. Are the planes going to be realistic of Sci-Fi style?

It could be tactically brilliant. That plane is so pink that a person would have to wince and look away from it. Allowing the pilot to shoot down the enemy plane with ease.

And hey I respect the guy being willing to fly a plane that pink .

Pros: The SAAB Gripen is one of my favorite fighter jets.
Cons: The title and general premise for the series.
