The poor side characters...
Well we always talk about the main guys and even the 2nd level guys in the story but there is a greta number of side charachters, left without interesting debates, or having information we had no idea of. Since they make up the background, they may one day be main charachters, or maybe their hidden info will come to be more important. So i figure lets talk about em a lil.
On that note in particular some thoughts on a few sideys that caught my attention Hmm Asuma, i like this i guy, i dont know why, but i do. I was looking at some of the info and found it interesting his surname is sarutobi. It seems hes directly related to the 3rd. And from the info on his skills, he is no joke, seems like he should be as good or even better than kakashi or gai, in terms of raw stats. He seems like hes high level at everything though not perfect on most. I wonder, is he the 3rds son? is he konohamaru's pops? is he related at all? hmm. And seeing his apparent strengths, i wonder why have yet to see him do anything or show more than a meager amount of skills. I mean in the itachi meeting, he didnt really get beat up at all, but he didnt seem like he was as talented as his skills show he should be. Kisame scored a pretty decent hit on him. hmmm and what happened to Anko, why does sasuke get a sealing seal and she has to suffer? Surprised she didnt try to deal with sasuke more, seeing they both afflicted by cursed seal. Hmm wonder if shes still at the earliest stage... hmmm Kurenai:... why did she seem so owned... these are some of the things that crossed my mind, i figure people can use this to debate or exchange background info that people may have got from like the source book or whatever on these "sideys" |

As for Asuma's stats, even though they're up there with the others, it's not exactly like Kisame would be the best opponent for Asuma to showcase his capabilities against. Asuma's technique: Brass knuckles with bladed tips that are even deadlier because he channels his chakra through them both for fortification and for added reach. Kisame's technique: That sword (can't remember its name). Not only does it have a scraping method, but it also eats Chakra, rendering Asuma's specialty useless. As for Kurenai, she went up against Itachi, and not Kisame. I'd imagine that she would have a difficult time, and the only reason things started to go downhill is because she allowed herself to fall victim to a genjutsu reversal. I'm curious to know how that worked, though. Is it doujutsu (that's 'eye jutsu', right?), or is it just a reversal? If it's a reversal based in the eyes, Kurenai screwed up when she made eye contact with Itachi. Even though the two of them travel in pairs, Kisame seems to be Itachi's subordinate on the Akatsuki ladder. "If you harm him, I will not forgive you," I believe Itachi more or less said at one point during that encounter in Konoha. As for Anko, even if we were to factor out any interaction with Sasuke, Kishimoto at the time of her interaction with Orochi made it seem like she might very well become a pivotal Jounin character. Then she died out. I'm interested in finding out if there's any special ability she possesses. Oro seems to only use his seals on a) people with bloodline abilities or b) people with very unique powers. I feel satisfied with Shizune for now. I have a general idea of her background, and if there's any more that's mentioned about her, it won't be much. She's related to Tsunade's deceased lover, and that's that. I would like to learn more about the Hyuugas, though. Their past seems like it will be key to this story. Kakashi during the prelims mentioned that the Uchiha clan may have had its roots in the Hyuuga clan, and Hinata, being the heir to the clan, may have access to any information that may help in uncovering the origins of the Uchiha or even the Sharingan itself. Last but not least, I'm interested in Sand life. I'd like to learn more about the cultural atmosphere of the village and what Temari and Kankurou do when they're home since they must have some sort of social life. Also, I'm curious to know what's going on in the Sand now that their Kazekage is dead. Has a new one been established yet? What diplomatic actions have been taken to reunite Konoha and Suna (besides the ones to come in the manga)? All questions that intrigue me to no end. -Yusef "The B.A.T." Pittman |

Im sad they dont ellaborate more on Tenten, I mean she's like the only Genin that doesnt have a story. Everyone seems to have some sort of background information, but Tenten has nothing, All we know is she's a Weapons Specialist and is usually Neji's Training partner (Since Gai and Lee do alot of Training together)

I would like to see Tenten and Shino's childhood. We know about nearly everyone's childhood except for these two. We have no idea. What do their parents do? When did they come to the academy? Are they some key to some hidden, magical, special power? What? Are they so special or something? Or perhaps they're just incredibly minor and they won't bother.
But, if we see them in their in their childhood. flashbacks, than I can be sure of something. I would also like to know about: Hanabi- Because I would like to see the fight Hinata vs. Hanabi so I actually WITNESS what happened during their fight. For all we know, Hinata tripped before they even begun and Hiashi counted that as losing. Ebisu- Why is he so single? Does he even try to get dates? He seems like the kind of guy that likes girls, but no girls want him. Maybe guys like him instead of girls.  Kotetsu and Izumo- Note that they are together because they are always together. What exactly is their relationship? Maybe they both swallowed a magnet and are always attracted to each other that way. The Sound Nins- I wanna see their flashbacks, even if they are incredibly minor and them filling up episodes with flashbacks would piss everyone off, but I would like to know so much about them. Ramen Girl Ayame- It's a given. Ibiki- What's up with the scars? Does it scare away chicks? Enough said. Genma- Screw Hayate! We want to know about someone LIVING like Genma!  Maybe he and Ebisu can get together! Shizune- How strong is she compared to all the other leaf nins. What if she's the second strongest in the village?! Or, can she just rival some other ninja we know like Anko or Ebisu? Oh yeah, and Asuma most likely ain't related to the Hokage. their ages don't seem to match reasonably. One more thing: Maybe the reason why Tenten has no last name shown is because it might be in some kind of old form of Chinese that no Japanese person could pronounce. Or WORSE! SHE'S related to the forth Hokage and not Naruto!

I would like to see more of anko and those 2 guys who were around during the chunnin exam pretending to be lower level then they were (one has spikey hair).
Shikamaru needs to take over the show simply because he's my favorite character by far. |

Genma has a small appearance later on in the manga.
Kamui, why would you say that Asuma is definitely weaker? We've only seen him in two fights. In one he beat a group of 7(?) ninjas easily, and we don't know how his match against Kisame would have played out without interference from Kakashi. |

yea asuma hasnt seem like he has put much effort in any fight we ve seem him in. But i wont be surprised if he shows great skill eventually. Tenten it seems has been abandoned. I think shes had the absolute least showing of her charachter.
What i know of shino is... hes from a clan of insecthive ninja thingy. he seems like he may get more time, he has seen some decent action. Seeing how good shizune is would be interesting. I think what would really help is if the jounin really got a chance to show their skills, It may be counter productive.. since they should be way stronger then the genins, and may show them up, but i still want to see it, the level jounin seems to have a huuuuge range in skill. Be interesting to see if they will match up. wonder if konohamaru will ever be a ninja of any skill in the course of this story. i wonder if iruka can beat naruto.... will he let naruto pass him in class? hmm |
