I've heard tons of complaints from the audience who bought the DVDs, and so far most have been incredibly dissapointed with Shizuru's newly aqquired Southern accent. *shudders* Why do the morons at Bandai HAVE to diss Shizuru's dubbed voice and make her sound like everything she's not? I can only imagine what they've done to her...XD

Haruka didn't good too... She isn't so Arrogant... The moment she's get's nerves in Japenese, she stay calm in US...

The people you should be disspointed in is "Ocean Group" studios...which is who Bandai outsourced it too. The director is in charge of casting so there's where the problem lies.

I guess they didn't quite get the "Southern Bell" accent right since that's what's equivalent to a Kyoto-ben accent. At least that's what some of my folks in Kyoto mentioned to me as I was curious about this too.

All this is stirring up my curiosity ^^; i'm probably gunna go get that dvd just because i need to see/hear everything they did to make it seem so..bad XD

Same here...I never heard it since I don't have the DVD, but I want to see what everyone is complaining about~

its not awful, but they should have made more subtle IMO. However some of the other voices (takumi, nagi) are considerably worse. I'll watch it just to see how the handle EP 17+ but I would advise agianst blowing money on the DVDs, especially since its looking like an 8 disk release.

IMO, i think shizuru accent is too far-fetched for non-japanese to dub it...

her voice is too sexy to me thats why all girls included me fall to her almightly appearances

That'd win my vote.
It's pretty much the effect her (and many others) voice had on me.

As such, I voted for "It's awesome! blahblahblah" just because it kept me laughing for a while.

Hmmm....now that I heard her *dub* voice, I have mixed thoughts. It's not *that* bad but

....hmmmm....Now that I finished collecting the R2s I was planning on collecting the R1s anyway so I can make a better judgement.

Perhaps I have to actually see the scene with this voice. The VA does seem to have a similar pitch to Shindou's voice. I guess I could be grateful that it isn't an annoyingly, over-the-top, high pitch.

After hearing that clip, I am not going to buy the dvds. Simply unacceptable. It's not just that I'm not fond of that particular accent. Southern accents aren't horrible imo. But I know that I won't be able to keep a straight face during the major ShizxNat scenes at the end. There's no way that VA will be able to pull off the right effect with that accent.

btw, how are the voices voices for my precious Na-chan and Mai-chan?

It's NOT bad from just a sound perspective...but...it is NOT Shizuru at all.

It is really not as bad as I thought. I think it matches her Japanese voice. The real challange is the later part of series, after she goes pysco thingy. I would love to see how that turns out.

I have watched horrible dub since the old days, cough*Utena*cough. I have to say anything these days is good to my ears.

If you could post a Natsuki and Mai voice clip I would heart you forever. If their voices are bearable, I might reconsider purchasing this.

Well...you could always switch the DVD to the *subtitled* option.
