Naruto fans must watch this Shinobi movie

This movie remind me of Naruto. I have a feeling that they took something from naruto. It's a good movie if you're a naruto fan. Even the very 1st scene remind me of Sasukes eye Every shinobi is similar to a shinobi in naruto

This movie looks nothing like Naruto, nor do I see any "Itachi eyes" or "Yellow Flash ability" on anyone.

The undead samurai and that long haired samurai (the one representing Yukie's village at the tournament) are cool tho.

I just watched that movie with subs....it's kinda cool and if they can manage to make such a movie then they definetly can make a real Naruto Movie.

Those 2 Leaders were definetly the most weird and powerfull ones.
Both had doujutsu's 1: [speed] 2: a manga movement

From the 10 fighting characters i'd say atleast 7-9 characters awfully resemble Naruto Characters.

Main Character man and female: Yellow Flash & [?] (Mangekyou) Sharingan User

Another looked like Orochimaru. [Orochimaru]

Another had this poisen attack similair to Shizune and was similair to her.[Shizune]

Another had a weird Kyuubi alike regeneration..[Naruto]

Another was as skilled as Tenten with his tools...[Tenten]

Another was very very much like Kiba....[Kiba]

Another really resembled a manga character [?]

One was just a mere backstabber [probably he alone doesnt resemble anyone]

looked definetly like Kakashi's MS form attack on Deidara

One other had an Zetsu kind of ability...to eat steal a face..

Movie Summary:

The movie had action, romance, drama and an adventure type within it.
Its about 2 Ninja Clans in 1 country...ruled by a lord of lords [Kage]..whoem controls the 2 villages.

For hundreds of years there was fought and afterwards there was a ban rule...to make peace...in this story the ban gets lifted...and 5 warriors from both villages have to fight..

The main characters are both chosen as villagers leader, heir, chiefcaptain. These 2 were in love before the ban was lifted. Now they are both chosen as Squad Leader among the chosen 5...to fight for their village!

It is a movie based on Basilisk, not Naruto. Well actually, it's from a play, or a book? I can't remember. Nevertheless, it is definitely the same story as the anime Basilisk.

which is certainly older than naruto...

And if anything inspired the "superpower" design, its ninja scroll, not naruto.
(btw: the double-page versions of "that" eyes in action in the manga just blows away any of the fancy "magic eyes" kishimoto ever made...

Actually this is supposed to be the real live version of Basilisk - Kouga Ninpou Chou. It is a "ninja anime" so it is kind of playing on the same ninja stereotypical prejudices that Naruto is using, so you do have Doujutsu and Kawarimi and stuff like that, although Basilisk is more realistic in the way that no character walks away from a deadly fight or with a deep chest injury without facing real consequences.

I'd love to see a live-action Naruto movie though ;D

Yup, this is the movie that is a version of Basilik, I have not seen this movie yet (That reminds me, I got to see it), but just by reading the brief summary it definitely the same.

The series of Basilik has some minor aspect that could look similar to Naruto, but mostly (if not only) in the Technique department, but that’s it.

This whining about similarities is boring. All these audiovisual products have the same roots, that is a certain part of japanese culture. There's no magic about that, some have already posted all the stories that were the base for Naruto (Jiraiya's story, the legends of the demon animals, etc...), and i'm sure the base for Basilisk and Shinobi is the same, some legends and stories which are hudreds of years old. Of course I find it all interesting and cool because I didn't know any of these stories so they are told to me by the interpretation of Naruto/Basilisk/Shinobi.

While everyone is at it, why doesn't anyone point out its similarity to Ninja Scroll? Since Ninja Scroll is an animated movie based on the Basilisk novels, just as Shinobi is based on Basilisk, I would think that comparison would be unavoidable.

I just watched the movie and must say it's pretty good...though it feels a bit rushed. The basic overview of the story is that there are two somewhat 2 "hidden villages" (like in Naruto), and the king of the land which united all the villages including the 2 "hidden villages" tells them to fight against each other.

The 2 villages pick their five top fighters and they must fight for 2 days and which ever side wins, the king makes a desicion on how will be the next king (something stupid like that)...There's more to it, but I don't wanna type it all out. There storyline is more of a love story then anything else, but there is pretty good action in the story. The girl Nakama Yukie plays as has a power with her eyes, and the guy Odamari (sp?) Joe plays as, has apower to slow down time or catch everything a la Sasuke's sharingan.

There's not really that many simalirities to Naruto, but I think it was a pretty good movie 8/10 overall. The story made me cry lots even after watching it, as I kept thinking about it. It felt a bit rushed, especially torwards the end where you don't get to see everyone's full power, but I guess it's meant to be more of a love story then a an action story.
