Slayers is a good choice for adventure comedy, but the lead is a girl. The number of episodes are more than 50... i think it's almost 80 for the tv episodes.

I would also recommend Zero no Tsukaima. It has a male lead. The problem is that it's only 13 eps, although there gonna be a second season in 2007.

Saiunkoku Monogatari - female main lead character, action, adventure, comedy, and some romance. first season is licensed and second season is currently ongoing.
Tsubasa Chronicle - action/adventure/romance with slight comedy.... First season is licensed but second season can still be found in animesuki
kiba - male main lead, more concentrated on shounen/adventure

Tide-Line Blue is worth a look at too. The reviews are not that high on AniDB, but I found it a very enjoyable watch.
