No guarantees on the "cool" main character though You rarely get what would be considered "cool" in such shows.

I'm not really into romance so the only one that I could recommend at the moment is Shingetsutan Tsukihime.

If you don't mind manga though, you might wanna try out System of Romance by SADAMOTO Yoshiyuki of Evangelion fame. However, the one that might be considered as the "cool male character" only plays the secondary role in this one-shot.
