Yoko's back? I guess that's one more player on Simon's side. We'll get to see what she's been doing the last 7 years, perhaps.

I hate to be off topic, but anyone know how many animators, inkers, painters, scriptwriters, ect they have. I mean how can they make a new episode every week like this? Must be a HUGE amount of people working. Do they even get breaks?

Anyway, yeah Im still waiting to see who the MAIN antagonist is. They show us the anti-spirals, but there must be a main bad guy to them. Also could someone perhaps explain to me the connection between the spiral kings daughter, and the anti-spirals. How is she apart of the anti spirals if she's the spiral kings daughter? I am new to the show but really enjoy it! Please get me up to date my friends!

Might be why the spiral king sealed her away in the first place. It's not uncommon to produce an episode a week, most animes are released on a weekly basis.

Gurren-Lagann episodes aren't really produced weekly... they're already doing, if not only polishing, the key animation for 26 and 27 as of now, for example.

Yeah i noticed they do the same for bleach and naruto, new episodes every week. Im just curious because Im an animation student, and man it takes alot of time as you know to make this stuff! So your saying that they allready are done with all of the episodes? Just polishing it? So when we first saw episode 1, they allready had episode 1 through 6 done or so?

But back on topic, I thought the spiral king MADE her, like he made a bunch of others daughters just like her.
But im curious tosee how gurren lagann will merge with that arc spaceship thing. http://www.gainax.co.jp/anime/gurren-lagann/oni_r.html
If you look there from episode 1 we see 2 faces, one from lagann, one from some other robot face.

And what exactly does the core drill do I wonder, is THAT the reason why simon can merge with others or is it just the lagann bot that does it like what spiral king said in that final bout episode.

Only anime being "produced" weekly are those that didn't have a jump start in production, and is way behind schedule.

*cough* Kissdum *cough* Musashi *cough* *cough*

Anyways, as for Gurren Lagann, although the production for the entire series is pretty much finished, they DID enlist help of other animation studios constantly... huge ones like Production I.G, XEBEC, GONZO, etc. Quite a few episodes of GL are handled almost entirely by sub-contracted work to these studios.

Now, generally, sub-contract work often result in low quality production... but for GL, Gainax only hands out sub-contracts to highly respected animation studios, and maintains an astonishingly high production value by overseeing them. It's actually very impressive.

Ragh, annoying 4channer Lucky Star trolls are annoying. They killed two Futaba topics and forced everyone into 2channel. -_-

The animation is finally pretty awesome once again... despite the CGI.

Wow. Seriously, that was a VERY entertaining episode, even if it had some of the briefest battle scenes in the whole series. Easily a nine out of ten episode - very, very awesome indeed.

My only gripe is the off-model designs in some of the shots, namely Yoko's at the very end and Nia's elbows, which go down to her waist. :|
