Spyware 'Advanced Cleaner'
Cannot seem to get rid of this at all. AVG doesn't recognize it, Spybot/Ada-ware can't get rid of it anywhere.
It does all of this: Displays ads Records personal data / keystrokes Hijacks internet browser Allows remote influence Downloads unsolicited files Disables programs / system Makes unauthorized phone calls Exploits a security flaw Floods internet connection Distributes threats Tracks browsing activity with installed applications Tracks browsing activity with cookies Installs without user consent Inadequate uninstall procedures Insufficient privacy disclosure and consent Uses excessive system resources Makes fraudulent claims about spyware detection and removal Performs Silent Updates I googled it and found a program to get rid of it but it was XP only so I have no idea how to get rid of it. Thanks in advance if anyone can find a way to get rid of it ![]() |

I think this is what my brother's comp had a while ago. I don't remember for sure but I think running ewido in safe mode took care of it. Don't remember for sure though, so it might have been something else, and that may not be the program I used.

If you download AVG Anti-Spyware that can run in full mode for 30 days. That should remove any infection and hopefully not allow it back. AVG AS is based on Ewido.

Read the first post.
I have Tried Spyblaster, Adaware, Safe Mode full scan with anti avg spyware, Trojan Remover, AVG itself. All have removed adware/spyware but source (Advanced cleaner..) still is on my PC and everytime I think it's gone away.. a random IE window comes up with advanced cleaner stuff. And I don't even use IE, I use Mozilla but it appears on both. |

Ah, sorry. I thought the whole thing was called "spyware advanced cleaner". I was wondering whether it was a worm or a virus, or something else entirely. So in other words, it's a one nasty piece of spyware I take it.

Shame you can't get a name of the malware, this might not work but its worth a go incase McAfee have it on their bad thing list. Download stinger
http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/ Boot to safe mode but when the window pops up asking you to click ok to carry on in safe mode. Do no click it. Instead move it out of the way. Press Ctrl Shift Esc to bring Windows Task Manger and then run stinger from File, Run, also run the other programs from here too. Some malware bypasses safemode oO and it shouldn't load if you don't okay the safe mode warning screen.
