I didn't really like this chapter. Any opinions on it.

Try to name the chapter discussion thread properly next time. Instead of naming it "who liked chapter xx", which's rather confuse, name it as One Piece Chapter xx Discussion*spoiler*. Any mod to rename the thread?

Now, I haven't read it yet. I'll wait for the translated version

Each contest supposedly last (at least) three chapters which might explain why chapter 311 is like this.

Also, maybe this chapter is trying to tell us that Sanji and Zoro can be beaten by lesser opponents.

Actually if you think for a bit i find it almost impossible for them to lose.
Because if they did lose not only would they lose a member of the crew but Foxy could actually choose Luffy and since no one else is inscribed in Battle Round and it's not possible to change the lineup they would lose by default, thus there goes another member. And according to the rules it is not possible for members lost in previous Davy Back to be traded back.
Besides we are talking about ZORO and SANJI they said in the end that they would cooperate for 10 seconds that should be enough

Also if Oda makes the most popular characters lose he will be killed by the fans

seriously. Sanji and ZOro is THE most popular characters of anime. (in japan & Korea, last i heard)

outside of Korean, Japan, and France One Piece isnt so popular. I dont know who the favourite is in Europe. In the USA most ppl would say "One Piece?? oh well... i like Onizuka."

They can get the member they lost from previous davy back match. If you read the chapter again, if zoro and sanji wins, they can get chopper back.

er.. maybe u missed the part about the Frog(i think?) pirate's captain being with the silver fox because they lost the matches. i believe they lost their captain, navigator, and their flag.

zoro is the favouorite in france, but I still prefer Luffy, he is far more funny and dumbass than zoro
