She too began to warm up, and not just from the outside, something inside of her also began to move, making her snap back to reality.

The brushes of the night, along with the night's calls of the forest was clear, the echoing sounds of footsteps...

A young child, wearing a relatively noticeable summoner's garb walked the night's trees and ground dirt, each step in unison as her loyal, silent guardian insect beast, Garyuu obediently followed, his 4 eyes attentive to her surroundings, as the atmosphere of the night tensed, the cold air fleeting their senses... Lutecia felt a slight sense of discomfort, remembering what happened the day before...

She could feel it lightly even now, the heat of the burning flames, the sight of that man whom she struck down with her blast, and the face of that little girl she helped the Doctor kidnap...

Along with the cries of that spear wielding boy, and the resounding roar of that black dragon of the other summoner Quattro mentioned...the one with the power to match Hakuten-oh...

None of it should matter to her, it never did over... yet somehow, there was a strange tinge in her heart. Something she sees in Zest's eyes at times... a kind of sadness. Why? Lutecia did not understand. To her, Zest was a great, respectable leader and knight, never faltering, his heart steady and strong, yet that small sadness she sees in him seems so familiar...

Swish.

A sound of the wind played by just as Lutecia felt one of her Insects she sent to the surroundings destroyed. It was just an instant, and like a gust of wind, she couldn't catch it, and the darkness of the night was a foreboding feeling...

What accompanies next like the prelude to the melody's rise was Garyuu's running steps, as light sounds followed by footprints etched themselves on trees, as Garyuu leaped tree-to-tree, each jump and rush faster than the next as his shadow can barely be seen, only proof of his speed through the trees, his eyes shining yellow like a predator's eyes, as he rushed towards the point where the Insects was destroyed, as Lutecia slowly followed, like a child's steps following nothing but a spark of lightning as Garyuu's eyes shined along the trail of the darkness.

A small bonfire, the light and almost non-visible flames ignited was their source of light, as amidst the silence of the forest night, the 3 knights looked up the sky as they embrace the wilderness of the nights for the first time in a while. Sipping a small cup of coffee, Isdera reflected the events of the night before...

From their household, the House of Knights... the image of the rising smoke amidst the darkness, the sounds of destruction, as the Ground Central fell to terrorist attack resonated deeply in their thoughts. It had little to no effect on them, but Saga was cautious as his orders were to leave the House of Knights temporarily, to effectively mobilize if needed to be. After all, Riot Force 6 Headquarters, the place where the Meister of the Night Sky stood, wasn't there anymore.

To Saga, she was safe... that was enough, but regardless... it was just a possible prelude.

The winds blew as something moved... A slow fleeting change in the winds, like a sudden appearance...

Isdera's eyes noticed a slight color within the night, and like a beast drawn by instinct...

"Mikami-ryuu...Issen!" With those words, a circular eclipse of light flashed in an instant, as Zulfiqar was drawn and sheathed back instantly like a flash of lightning, almost vibrating as the proof of the blade's slash evident as the Insect was cleanly slashed in half, as it slowly dropped.

A breath of air, but that was hardly the sign of victory... He was the only pure fighter of the Knights as Saga's away for a while then, and his thumb flashed a slight shine from his sword, pushing its holster out of it's sheath as with a flicker, a black figure came close to his range, as his 2 eyes meet 4, as the ground dirt flew just as a tree collapsed, the two dashed into one another as he drew his sword another time, a clash with the blade on Garyuu's arms.

The shockwave scattered, as Garyuu’s claw cracked a little,hitting the sharp edge of the blade, parrying his high speed strike but the familiar was not faltered as he used that momentum to further increase its speed as it continued slamming its speed around the surrounding trunks of the trees, as Isdera was surrounded by a cage of speed.

“Twish. Slam. Swish. Kruk.”

A repitition of those sounds continued itself. Isdera side-stepped as he felt something flew past him, as he then saw a slight scratch on his cheek, as blood dripped from that small cut. Isdera licked away some that fell to his mouth, as he felt his spirit flared.

“Not bad, beast.”

He slammed the sheathe of his sword on the ground, as he jumped on top of it, both legs looking to get that momentum...

“But this speed won’t be enough to beat me.”

Just as he said that, his leg slammed hard as he too, copied what Garyuu did and started following the movements, jumping around vertical planes ala VTOL, as he quickened his pace in a speed-only zero manueverability aerial dog-fight with Garyuu. The flash of yellow was soon caught up with a flash of silver, as invisible to the naked eye, a high speed clash of claws and blades occurred.

“Clang!”

That was the same sound. It was the same sound over and over... but it was also the final sound as..

“C...ra.....c...k...”

In an instant, Garyuu’s claw on both arms shattered into pieces. Garyuu was taken aback for an instant, as Isdera’s left hand, strengthened by Belka reinforcement lashed out to strike Garyuu’s face, catching a sharp blow near its eyes as it was knocked to the trunk of a tree, its form latching on as the tree trunk was smashed with Garyuu’s weight...

That wasn’t the end as Isdera delivered another heavy blow, as he sent him flying with a overhead kick, knocking him outwards as he flew out of the tree, Garyuu hadn’t given up, but just as he tried to prepare himself to attack again, he found a pair of eyes looking at his eyes point-blank, as his chest had Isdera’s palm on it, a magical triangle forming itself...

“Schlagbruch.”

His palm formed to a fist as a concentrated mass of high velocity wind, akin to a tornado formed around his fistas he slammed Garyuu’s chest, slamming him downwards to the ground as his chest shell broke, a shockwave flying inside his body injuring his internals, just as he dropped unconscious, Isdera too touching the ground safely, as he sheated his sword back, pulling the sheathed blade from the ground.

Just as the battle ended, Lutecia reached the point as she was taken aback, as she saw Garyuu’s fallen body laying flat on the ground and a knight standing, clearly the one who took Garyuu down. Her emotionless eyes saddened at the sight of Garyuu’s blood coming out from his mouth.

Lutecia showed a rare expression of slight anger,as she pointed Asculepius at Isdera, who was just eying her calmly, as she commanded, “Insects.” Summoning several 10s and 20s of Insects, she commanded them as she shot them towards Isdera.

Lutecia's step was taken aback, as she felt a gust of wind threatening to put her off her balance. She opened her eyes from that sudden gale, as she saw Isdera's sword unsheathed, and all the Insects destroyed... with just the blast of wind from the shockwave generated from a high-speed draw and slash...

The knight she is facing is no ordinary knight... he may even be as powerful as Zest. If that was true, then she'd definitely could not win an outright battle with that man.

Lutecia stepped back a little, as things were dangerous. Summoning Hakuten-oh was out of the question as it would put TSAB to notice their position, and Zest wasn't completely healed yet...

"Mind I inquire why the hostility from your guardian beast, young lady?"

Isdera took a single step following his question, which went unanswered... only to sense something from his back...

There was a unspoken pressure, and presence beyond a strong magical response...

He could feel something sharp beyond senses... like an angry, injured beast, who's going beyonds its limits to protect its child.

And just that it was, as the beast and another beast, within a split-seconds instant of light, had their weapons each on the side of each one's throat, as the beast in the form of an old knight, held his spear against the younger knight's sword... the blades did not clash, but even then, Lutecia's ears felt something beyond that. The both of them felt it too, just as neither so much moved even with their blades merely millimeters away from killing the other.

It was a sound that muted their worlds. The sound of 2 blades ripping the wind around it as they embody their spirit as knights.

As their eyes reflected a glint, the both of them jumped backwards, as Zest stood in front of Lutecia and the injured Garyuu, as he simply said...

"Stand back, Lutecia. He is not an enemy you can defeat."

With those words, Lutecia nodded as she moved away along with Garyuu which returned to her Boost gloves, just as Zest's thoughts were then fully focused, as he swung his spear downwards with force of ferociousness, Just as Isdera too, readied his pose, in response...

"Isdera."

"Zest."

An exchange of names, followed by an exchange of strikes. A sharp thrust, heavy in the weights of the larger knight, clash as the side-strike of the blades weigh heavily even with that parry, as the continuous exchange of metallic sounds, just as each sound follows with a explosive respond of golden and silver burst out towards the surrounding forest areas. In less than several minutes, several meters of the radius of their battle was filled with chopped trees along with scorching ground from their magical reaction.

It was a greeting of knights.

Those two know eachother?!

The sun was setting unusually fast today, both teams were losing light fast and the smoke from the burning houses isn’t helping either. As Signum’s team approaches the village on foot, they move in a straight-line formation with Signum running point.

It was like a war-zone. Bodies of every gender and age laid everywhere, a number of them weren’t even intact. Houses were either flatten or blown apart or ablaze. The smell of it all nearly overwhelmed most of the members, Signum herself was rather uncomfortable with it as well but stood firm.

“My god…”

Kadett couldn’t even speak, her hand covered her mouth and was too shocked to remove it. But her eyes says it all…

“Lieutenant, what’s your team’s position?”

-=[We’re just on the opposite side of you, no hostiles in sight.]=-

“Same thing with us. We’re proceeding to enter the village via the back roads.”

The four of them moved behind a wall and stack up along side it. Signum peek over the edge and checked if they’re cleared, she then turned and faced her crew.

“I know what you all are thinking, but I want you to focus on the mission. We can’t afford to let our emotions get in the way and screw up. We’re at a disadvantage now until reinforcements arrive.”

Combo and Vectra nodded.

“There may be some survivors left, we’ll save them if we can but don’t engaged unless it’s necessary.”

“Understood ma’am.”

“Kadett?”

The girl looked up.

“I-I’m, I’m fine… I understand.”

“Very well… We’re dealing with an unknown enemy force with unconfirmed intel on their numbers, weapons, and tactical movements. We’ll approach with extreme caution. When engaged, shoot first, think later.”

The team nodded.

“I’ll run point. Maintain silence, thought speech and eye contact only.”

With that the four of them silently entered the village.

After five minutes of walking, Signum can't shake the uneasy feeling that's been bugging her from the start... She doesn't like what she's seeing. There wasn't a single hostile in sight, not a single explosion or fighting or yelling. All they encounted were ashes, smoke, bodies and the wind. It's as if the entire village was dead.

Who knows, it might already be.

Suddenly, something twitched from the corner of their eyes. It immediately caught everyone’s attention. Signum stopped and signaled the group to surround the house from both sides. Something rattled inside of it.

Signum drew her weapon slowly and signaled Vectra and Combo to move stack up on the wall. The two Knight nodded and had their short swords out by the time they got to the wall. Everyone tensed as something solid fell on the ground inside.

Cautiously, Combo stuck his head out to have a peak through the window.

-=[There's definitely something here alright... But there's too many things blocking my sight, I can't see what it is.]=-

-=[Copy that. Vectra, breach and clear. Combo, cover him.]=-

The two of them nodded and took up positions one behind the other facing the door. When they're both ready, Signum gave them the green-lights and the knights break down the door, startling whatever it was that's in the room as it tries to stumble away.

Vectra quickly leap onto it. Pressing his weapon against the target.

"Stop! Or I'll gut y-!" Vectra froze in mid-sentence.

Staring back at him was the terrified eyes of a young boy.

"Oh my... We got a survivor!" The knight yelled.

The rest of the team stepped in. The boy's eyes dart back and fore quickly between all the Knights. His right shoulder appears to be broken, his forearms had multiple bruising, and a part of his face was burned.

Combo kept watch outside as the two females entered the house. Kadett gasped as she saw the state that the boy was in. Signum's expression grimaces, but she remains silence.

"He's so... small..."

"Kadett, check his wounds..." Signum ordered the page.

"Yes ma'am." Kadett begun to use her healing spell.

Suddenly, the boy's expression suddenly changed, as if he saw a monster or something. He began to clutch his head with both his hands and started taking sharp inhales. His eyes bulge and threatens to pop out of their sockets. But most importantly, the fear is back in his eyes again.

"Ano..." Kadett cautiously asked. "Are you alright...?"

The girl moves to touch his shoulder...


"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!"


The boy's reply was a bloodcurdling scream that stunned everyone including Combo who was outside. Kadett quickly pulled back her hand out of shock, Vectra being the closest was hit the hardest. Signum instinctively drew out Laevatein.

"What the hell was that?!" Combo demanded.

"AHHH! AHHHH! AHHHHHH! AHHHH!"

The boy continued to scream, Signum quickly pulled Kadett behind her as a precaution while Vectra attempts to calm the boy down. But the knight could barely even hear his own voice over the unbearable screaming, getting close to try to restrain him is painful enough.

Finally, without warning, the boy just dashed out of the house, crashing into Combo who was just outside the door. He stumbled alitte and took off again.

"Hey- WAIT!" Vecta ran after the boy.

"Vectra!"

"Go after them!" Signum ordered.

“Wait! Come back here!” Vectra yelled at the running boy.

"So much for subtley..." grumbled Combo as he started chasing them.

The boy continued to scream and cry as he ran through the maze of houses. The knights were hard pressed trying to keep up with him.

But the knight ignored orders and continued chasing after the young boy. Plowing through the haystacks and burned bodies that carpeted the ground.

“Stop! Wait!”

Signum swore as the three of them tried to catch up to their teammate. Behind her, she could hear the conversation bewteen Combo and Kadett.

"I'm just saying, that's not a sound any human can make...!"

"Combo-san..."

As much as Signum tries not to think about it, she agreed with him to an extend. There was something... Unnatural about how the boy reacted, it's almost as if he was being possessed by a devil. One which is making him run at such inhuman speed at even trained Knights like Vectra and Combo would find it hard to catch up to.

Up ahead, the boy run out of the street, turned and ran into a shop in the middle of the street they were on, Vectra soon followed in.

The rest of the team were about a hundred feet or so behind them, once they saw them entering the building, they stopped running to catch their breath.

-=[Finally! I was begining to think that maybe we had signed up for an express tour around the village...]=-

Combo took a deep breath before yelling at his partner.

"HEY VECTRA! YOU OWE US BIG TIME!!!"

"Shhh! The enemy might hear us..."

"What are you, deaf? That little nut could already be heard squeaking from miles awa-"

Signum's blood turned cold. She realized what was wrong.

If the entire village could hear them, then why aren't they being attacked by now?

Unless... Signum feared the worst as she cursed her stupidity for not noticing any sooner.

"Vectra! Get out of there! It's a-!"

"BOOOOOMMMMM!!!"

The entire building exploded into flames.

The sudden heat and force knocked the rest of the team back a little, but they were relatively unharmed.

"Is everyone okay?"

"I'm... Fine..."

But Combo was too shocked to hear her.

"VECTRA!!"

He was about to run towards the burning house when a sudden sharp pain shot through his left foot.

"AHRRGHH! What the-?!"

One of the hay stacks that were lying around the floor produced an arm that had stabbed and pinned the knight's foot to the ground with a combat knife. The hostile that was hidding in there quickly rolled aside into one of the houses, narrowly missing the tip of Combo's sword.

"Combo-san!" Kadett cried.

"I'm fin-!"

Four blue streams of light were shot from the roof top of the houses that were around him. They struck the trapped Knight square on his head and blew it cleanly off his shoulders before he could finish his sentence.

Kadett froze in her tracks, she was too pertified by what she saw to even scream, let alone move...

Making her an easy target for the snipers to take out next.

Thinking fast, Signum dive in and grabbed her by the waist, while using Laevatein to deflect the beams. Doors from every building around them burst open as the mages hidding in them came out firing rapid magic shots at them. Signum quickly activated her defense spell to protect her and Kadett from the wall of magic shots.

Even with that, she could still feel the force of the impact as they smash into her protection.

They were waiting... Signum cursed her own carelessness, which had cost the lives of two young Knights. She should have realized that sooner when she entered the village.

From the distance, she could see more enemies coming out of their cover and opened fire on them. Knowing that they cannot stay here any longer, Signum picked up Kadett and ran through an alley away from their line of sight. She could hear them giving chase from behind, without any clue whether anot she's even heading the right direction, Signum crisscross her way through the alley in hopes of throwing them off, the sound of their attacks hitting the walls behind her urged her on.

No responses.

-=[Signum here, my team has been ambushed by hostile units, Vectra and Combo are KIA, currently attempting to eva-]=-

"BOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!"

Suddenly another explosion rocked the surroundings. This time it was from the west side of the village, and judging from the noise, it's alot bigger than the one that killed Vectra.

-=[Corsa! Report! Corsa?!]=-

No reply.

"Everyone..." Kadett whispered with tears in her eyes.

Signum didn't know how or what to answer her, this is something that she couldn't do... Something that all her experience and time spent in this world didn't prepare her for. So she just kept running with the young girl in tow.

"I couldn't do anything..."

Signum keep on going.

"Am I... Going to die too?"

Signum clenched her teeth, and was about to say something when a group of those flying mages that she had defeated outside the village came up from behind the building in front of them and opened fired.

Signum quickly stomp her foot to stop herself, then using the momentum to jump out of the way of their beam and through the window into the building closest to them. Kadett gave a small yelp as the two of them crashed onto the floor of the room.

The magic beams continued to fire through the windows for awhile longer before stopping completely.

Signum took a peak to see what was going on outside, the enemies were just floating above the buildings in front of them, looking in her direction.

"They're waiting for reinforcements... Probably the group back there..." Signum looked back at Kadett, who was hugging her legs in the corner of the room. "They're taking their time..."

"So this is it then..."

Signum sat down and lean back against the wall to rest.

"I can't help but wonder if only I were stronger... Maybe I could save them..."

"There was nothing you could have done..." Signum assured her, and maybe even herself. "It just happened too fast..."

"Not only this, even with Tigra... I couldn't save her..."

I don't know what to do... What to say to this child...

"I hate myself for being so useless... For not being able to do anything..."

If only... If only...

"If only I was someone else..."

At that moment, Signum realized how foolish she has been behaving... Vita wouldn't let her hear the end of it if she finds out.

"No, I am the one who is..." Signum shook her head. "I am still thinking about silly things at a time like this..."

At that moment, Signum realized what she should do. She stood up and straighten herself out before heading towards the door.

"S-Signum-san...?"

"I'll be fine... Just wait here." Signum half-smiled. "Don't worry, I'll come back for you..."

Kadett felt her chest tighten.

There are somethings that an old Knight like me isn't cut out for... At times like this, I can't comfort anyone, I can't protect everyone, I can't even help a little girl...

Signum pushed the door open and calmly walked out.

Several more of those flying mages landed on the rootops around her, their spear devices all trained on her. Below them were the ambush team from before, they calmly took up their postions infront of her. These mages didn't have the Teal-lines along the edge of their barrier jacket the same way the flying ones do. But like them, they carried the same spear devices.

They were waiting for her to make the first move.

Signum took a deep breath as she size up her opponents.

I am who I am... So instead of worrying about things that I can never do, I should just do the things I'm good at... She smirked to herself.

"I am Signum, Blazing Flame General to the Mistress of the Night Sky." She announced to them. "I am here at the request of the Saint Church..."

The unknown mages tilt their heads, seemingly amused. Signum loaded a cartridge.

"...The price for sin which you all have committed today," She declared. "Shall be paid with your life!!"

Signum used the tip of Laevatein to draw a line on the ground in front of her.

"Let me show you how we used to do things in the old days..."

"W-Who the hell are you?!" screamed the man as he backed into the wall.

In front of him is a young man with silver hair and emerald green eyes, and was in the process of pulling out his massive sword device from three corpses skewed together. He kicked them aside to the chapel's wall with the rest of the bodies.

"What's this? I thought Chevaliers don't fear anything? Then again, I guess anybody would be afraid when their faith has been crushed completely..."

He swing his sword to remove the extra blood still left on the blade before lighting up the edges with a green, emerald flame. The device made a sound not that different from a chainsaw.

"My name is Lance, Destroyer of Faith" The young man smiled. "Blazing Flame General to the Chaos Emperor Dragon..."

At the sound of the word 'Destroyers', the Chevalier's eye filled with recognition then fear. A green velkan triangle appeared beneath Lance.

"Feel free to die when you've had enough..."

Cliffhanger indeed. Signum going 'Let me show you how we used to do things in the old days...' was awesome. It's times like these that remind us tht the Wolkies are veterans of countless battlefields.

And of course, Keroko-chan will get the 'Survivor's Guilt' scenario. I'm currently racking my brains for some unique twists in that one to show the stark contrast of Hayate and Keroko-chan's emo moments. Though it's still fun.

Kha doesn't need counseling. (If he was, expect some major mindscrew that's not kind at all.) Besides, I've focused a bit more on Sakura-Zaki's side of the fence.

The brushes of the night, along with the night's calls of the forest was clear, the echoing sounds of footsteps...

A young child, wearing a relatively noticeable summoner's garb walked the night's trees and ground dirt, each step in unison as her loyal, silent guardian insect beast, Garyuu obediently followed, his 4 eyes attentive to her surroundings, as the atmosphere of the night tensed, the cold air fleeting their senses... Lutecia felt a slight sense of discomfort, remembering what happened the day before...

She could feel it lightly even now, the heat of the burning flames, the sight of that man whom she struck down with her blast, and the face of that little girl she helped the Doctor kidnap...

Along with the cries of that spear wielding boy, and the resounding roar of that black dragon of the other summoner Quattro mentioned...the one with the power to match Hakuten-oh...

None of it should matter to her, it never did over... yet somehow, there was a strange tinge in her heart. Something she sees in Zest's eyes at times... a kind of sadness. Why? Lutecia did not understand. To her, Zest was a great, respectable leader and knight, never faltering, his heart steady and strong, yet that small sadness she sees in him seems so familiar...

Swish.

A sound of the wind played by just as Lutecia felt one of her Insects she sent to the surroundings destroyed. It was just an instant, and like a gust of wind, she couldn't catch it, and the darkness of the night was a foreboding feeling...

What accompanies next like the prelude to the melody's rise was Garyuu's running steps, as light sounds followed by footprints etched themselves on trees, as Garyuu leaped tree-to-tree, each jump and rush faster than the next as his shadow can barely be seen, only proof of his speed through the trees, his eyes shining yellow like a predator's eyes, as he rushed towards the point where the Insects was destroyed, as Lutecia slowly followed, like a child's steps following nothing but a spark of lightning as Garyuu's eyes shined along the trail of the darkness.

A small bonfire, the light and almost non-visible flames ignited was their source of light, as amidst the silence of the forest night, the 3 knights looked up the sky as they embrace the wilderness of the nights for the first time in a while. Sipping a small cup of coffee, Isdera reflected the events of the night before...

From their household, the House of Knights... the image of the rising smoke amidst the darkness, the sounds of destruction, as the Ground Central fell to terrorist attack resonated deeply in their thoughts. It had little to no effect on them, but Saga was cautious as his orders were to leave the House of Knights temporarily, to effectively mobilize if needed to be. After all, Riot Force 6 Headquarters, the place where the Meister of the Night Sky stood, wasn't there anymore.

To Saga, she was safe... that was enough, but regardless... it was just a possible prelude.

The winds blew as something moved... A slow fleeting change in the winds, like a sudden appearance...

Isdera's eyes noticed a slight color within the night, and like a beast drawn by instinct...

"Mikami-ryuu...Issen!" With those words, a circular eclipse of light flashed in an instant, as Zulfiqar was drawn and sheathed back instantly like a flash of lightning, almost vibrating as the proof of the blade's slash evident as the Insect was cleanly slashed in half, as it slowly dropped.

A breath of air, but that was hardly the sign of victory... He was the only pure fighter of the Knights as Saga's away for a while then, and his thumb flashed a slight shine from his sword, pushing its holster out of it's sheath as with a flicker, a black figure came close to his range, as his 2 eyes meet 4, as the ground dirt flew just as a tree collapsed, the two dashed into one another as he drew his sword another time, a clash with the blade on Garyuu's arms.

The shockwave scattered, as Garyuu’s claw cracked a little,hitting the sharp edge of the blade, parrying his high speed strike but the familiar was not faltered as he used that momentum to further increase its speed as it continued slamming its speed around the surrounding trunks of the trees, as Isdera was surrounded by a cage of speed.

“Twish. Slam. Swish. Kruk.”

A repitition of those sounds continued itself. Isdera side-stepped as he felt something flew past him, as he then saw a slight scratch on his cheek, as blood dripped from that small cut. Isdera licked away some that fell to his mouth, as he felt his spirit flared.

“Not bad, beast.”

He slammed the sheathe of his sword on the ground, as he jumped on top of it, both legs looking to get that momentum...

“But this speed won’t be enough to beat me.”

Just as he said that, his leg slammed hard as he too, copied what Garyuu did and started following the movements, jumping around vertical planes ala VTOL, as he quickened his pace in a speed-only zero manueverability aerial dog-fight with Garyuu. The flash of yellow was soon caught up with a flash of silver, as invisible to the naked eye, a high speed clash of claws and blades occurred.

“Clang!”

That was the same sound. It was the same sound over and over... but it was also the final sound as..

“C...ra.....c...k...”

In an instant, Garyuu’s claw on both arms shattered into pieces. Garyuu was taken aback for an instant, as Isdera’s left hand, strengthened by Belka reinforcement lashed out to strike Garyuu’s face, catching a sharp blow near its eyes as it was knocked to the trunk of a tree, its form latching on as the tree trunk was smashed with Garyuu’s weight...

That wasn’t the end as Isdera delivered another heavy blow, as he sent him flying with a overhead kick, knocking him outwards as he flew out of the tree, Garyuu hadn’t given up, but just as he tried to prepare himself to attack again, he found a pair of eyes looking at his eyes point-blank, as his chest had Isdera’s palm on it, a magical triangle forming itself...

“Schlagbruch.”

His palm formed to a fist as a concentrated mass of high velocity wind, akin to a tornado formed around his fistas he slammed Garyuu’s chest, slamming him downwards to the ground as his chest shell broke, a shockwave flying inside his body injuring his internals, just as he dropped unconscious, Isdera too touching the ground safely, as he sheated his sword back, pulling the sheathed blade from the ground.

Just as the battle ended, Lutecia reached the point as she was taken aback, as she saw Garyuu’s fallen body laying flat on the ground and a knight standing, clearly the one who took Garyuu down. Her emotionless eyes saddened at the sight of Garyuu’s blood coming out from his mouth.

Lutecia showed a rare expression of slight anger,as she pointed Asculepius at Isdera, who was just eying her calmly, as she commanded, “Insects.” Summoning several 10s and 20s of Insects, she commanded them as she shot them towards Isdera.

Lutecia's step was taken aback, as she felt a gust of wind threatening to put her off her balance. She opened her eyes from that sudden gale, as she saw Isdera's sword unsheathed, and all the Insects destroyed... with just the blast of wind from the shockwave generated from a high-speed draw and slash...

The knight she is facing is no ordinary knight... he may even be as powerful as Zest. If that was true, then she'd definitely could not win an outright battle with that man.

Lutecia stepped back a little, as things were dangerous. Summoning Hakuten-oh was out of the question as it would put TSAB to notice their position, and Zest wasn't completely healed yet...

"Mind I inquire why the hostility from your guardian beast, young lady?"

Isdera took a single step following his question, which went unanswered... only to sense something from his back...

There was a unspoken pressure, and presence beyond a strong magical response...

He could feel something sharp beyond senses... like an angry, injured beast, who's going beyonds its limits to protect its child.

And just that it was, as the beast and another beast, within a split-seconds instant of light, had their weapons each on the side of each one's throat, as the beast in the form of an old knight, held his spear against the younger knight's sword... the blades did not clash, but even then, Lutecia's ears felt something beyond that. The both of them felt it too, just as neither so much moved even with their blades merely millimeters away from killing the other.

It was a sound that muted their worlds. The sound of 2 blades ripping the wind around it as they embody their spirit as knights.

As their eyes reflected a glint, the both of them jumped backwards, as Zest stood in front of Lutecia and the injured Garyuu, as he simply said...

"Stand back, Lutecia. He is not an enemy you can defeat."

With those words, Lutecia nodded as she moved away along with Garyuu which returned to her Boost gloves, just as Zest's thoughts were then fully focused, as he swung his spear downwards with force of ferociousness, Just as Isdera too, readied his pose, in response...

"Isdera."

"Zest."

An exchange of names, followed by an exchange of strikes. A sharp thrust, heavy in the weights of the larger knight, clash as the side-strike of the blades weigh heavily even with that parry, as the continuous exchange of metallic sounds, just as each sound follows with a explosive respond of golden and silver burst out towards the surrounding forest areas. In less than several minutes, several meters of the radius of their battle was filled with chopped trees along with scorching ground from their magical reaction.

It was a greeting of knights.

The amazing thing about some people is their ability to always wake up at roughly the same designated time every morning, a biological ‘alarm clock’ so to speak. Such is the case with Yagami Hayate, Queen of the Night Sky, and mistress of the Wolkenritter.

Blinking her eyes as she woke up from her sleep she took the little quiet time before the day begins to contemplate on all that has happened. It was almost two years after the events of the Book of Darkness, and Hayate had already recovered the use of her legs. Life wasn’t exactly backed to normal really, but everything has settled into a sort of routine for her.

She’s allowed to go back to school again, which is something every 10 year old should really be doing. The only difference is instead of club activities, she has to teleport to the TSAB command ship Arthra for training and missions.

Being almost like the leader of her own squad as she commands the Wolkenritter, they basically became the response team for any incident under the jurisdiction of the special investigations unit on Arthra. It helped that the Arthra was currently only basic official duties for the moment, so things were never really hectic so far.

“Unyuuu~~Hayate…I want more ice cream~~” mumbled Vita who was cuddling with her bunny in her sleep.

Hayate couldn’t help but smile at that, watching Vita sleep always calmed her somehow, and it was so cute she couldn’t resist anyway. Absently, she wondered how Vita would look in their school’s uniform. She got up from bed quietly, taking care not to wake Vita up, and went to the washroom to wash up.

Minutes later she’s in the kitchen, heating up some milk and preparing toasts and eggs for breakfast. As she went about making breakfast, she hummed a random tune and thought of how remarkable that some things can change in such a short amount of time.

2 years ago, magic and other extraordinary occurrence were but some thing out of a storybook. She definitely wouldn’t have thought of becoming the mistress of a group of ancient Belkan knights and a magical tome classified as a first class Lost Logia. To say it was mind blowing would definitely not be far off the mark.

Since then things have changed, she became a mage-knight with a rather high magic power rank for a rookie, saved the world, and joined an interdimensional administration bureau, under the command of one of their navy’s command ship. Some things however, remained unchanged, and Hayate felt grateful for that. No matter how exciting it may seem at times, having some semblance of stability and order in life is never a bad thing.

She still wakes up everyday to make breakfast for her beloved knights, visit the library every now and then to read her favourite fairy tales, and can now regularly attend school too. Even with three of her knights in the armed corps and Shamal a medical staff on the Arthra, the Wolkenritter still have their own activities in Uminari City albeit it being more limited.

They are given a day off every now and then, and work on the Arthra never really took too much of their time as they were still under probation. Signum still has her evening kendo classes, Vita has her croquet games with the local elder’s club every week, Shamal will get the groceries or drop by to chat with the neighbours whenever she can, Tesla hangs out with a few guys she befriended at the arcade she frequents, and Zafira either follows any one of the knights alternately for walks or to watch their activities.

Night would come then, and Signum would be back from her kendo classes, Vita from her croquet game, Tesla from either game clubs or Lan shops or the arcade, Shamal will be back with the groceries in time to prepare for dinner, and Zafira will of course be with one of them as they come home.

Footsteps can be heard shuffling about, indicating that her knights are starting to wake up. “Good morning Hayate-chan, I’ll help you with breakfast okay? You should go get dressed for school.” said Shamal as she entered the kitchen while tying an apron on.

Zafira, who was sleeping in the living room stirred then as he stretched and yawned. Signum walked in to the living room soon after and greeted Hayate with a “Good morning, mistress.” Tesla strolled in next, obviously preoccupied with something, most likely thinking up a strategy or two for that computer war simulation game she had been engrossed with lately. Vita came in last, still half asleep and holding her bunny, mumbling about her glass of morning milk.

Hayate smiled as her knights came in one by one, and she greeted each of them in turn. A thought struck and Hayate turned to Signum and asked, “Signum, how’s the talent search for ‘incredibly and unbelievably overpowered kids’?”

Signum sat on the couch drinking her hot milk and thought for a moment before replying, “Huh? Overpowered? Talent search? I wouldn’t call it a talent search actually… There hasn’t really been all that many talents found, the few we found seem to have potential, but its going to be hard to convince both them and their parents or guardians without some form of demonstration.”

Bemused by that, Hayate commented, “It didn’t seem that hard to convince Nanoha-chan and Keroko-chan’s parents though, or Arisa-chan and Suzuka-chan for that matter.”

“That’s because the Takamichi sisters proved it with their little light show, and mistress’ two friends were unwitting witnesses during the incident with the defensive program of the Book of Darkness, however little they saw. Those that we find to have potential lack the ability to demonstrate any form of magic as of yet, and when bureau clerks do the demos most people just dismiss them as charlatans and tricksters.” Said Signum, as she breathed a sigh, obviously annoyed that her job was made a lot more tedious due to skeptical adults.

“Maybe blowing some things up would convince them,” was Vita’s irresponsible comment from the dining table where she was having her breakfast, an eager gleam in her eyes that was almost scary.

“Absolutely not! Such delicate matters must be analysed thoroughly and then a proper plan formulated. Blowing things up is not the solution to everything.” said Tesla as she chided Vita’s ever-blunt methods in handling things.

Not one to consider taking complicated measures, Vita replied with a frown, “Why go to all that trouble? Blowing things up is the fastest way. They don’t have to blow the house inside out, just maybe a table or two would do.”

“Now, now. Blowing things up would just scare people off and they’ll even call the police.” Said Shamal as she handed Tesla some breakfast.

Vita made a face as she sighed and conceded. “So troublesome and complicated.” She said in a very bored tone.

Thinking it through, it was rather true really. Hayate herself would probably be considered as one of the more unusual with her ready acceptance of a world of magic into her life. Then again, only magic or something extraordinary could explain the phenomena that brought her knights into being that fateful night. “Hmm…must be tough for you.” Mused Hayate.

“Not at all, it’s a lot less stressful than dealing with Lost Logia cases after all. It seems though that the search is going to be in Japan this time, focusing around the Tohoku region. Apparently there have been reports of magical activities around that region for the past few days. They believe that it might be a Lost Logia, so the search will be to try to locate said Lost Logia also.” Signum said as she finished her milk and got up to prepare to go off to work.

“Hmm…Lost Logia huh? Wonder if I’ll be called in to help…” thought Hayate out loud.

Signum smiled at her mistress’ ever-present desire to help out. “Not likely, at least not until it is deemed dangerous.”

“Vita, Tesla, lets go. Might as well have Shamal teleport all of us there together.”

It’s just another day of work for them, and another day of school for Hayate, with equal work and leisure. It feels normal, seems normal, and is essentially normal.

But it doesn’t take a special day, for one’s fate to change, or destiny to be revealed, or simply having a meeting that would change a life forever.

I know there's bound to be discrepancies and such, so if you find any please let me know. Sometimes I can feel that something isn't right with what I write () but I can seem to pinpoint it.

What I've realize after editing multiple times is that I can't seem to write or structure conversations very well. Any tips? *waits for the boos and cheers, hoping to get more of the latter*

Oh no I meant to ask if Zone would have been met by Fate and the others by the time of DestinyS in the fanon timeline. Because he is an OC, and he does not appear in DestinyS, I thought he'd might have room to appear in StargazerS. But he's your character and hence I'll need permission.

Concidering how much we know about the past after 3 seasons, I think we can say that the Ion Canon treats the past as an unimportant target. Uminari City, Yagami residence

The amazing thing about some people is their ability to always wake up at roughly the same designated time every morning, a biological ‘alarm clock’ so to speak. Such is the case with Yagami Hayate, Queen of the Night Sky, and mistress of the Wolkenritter.

Blinking her eyes as she woke up from her sleep she took the little quiet time before the day begins to contemplate on all that has happened. It was almost two years after the events of the Book of Darkness, and Hayate had already recovered the use of her legs. Life wasn’t exactly backed to normal really, but everything has settled into a sort of routine for her.

She’s allowed to go back to school again, which is something every 10 year old should really be doing. The only difference is instead of club activities, she has to teleport to the TSAB command ship Arthra for training and missions.

Being almost like the leader of her own squad as she commands the Wolkenritter, they basically became the response team for any incident under the jurisdiction of the special investigations unit on Arthra. It helped that the Arthra was currently only basic official duties for the moment, so things were never really hectic so far.

“Unyuuu~~Hayate…I want more ice cream~~” mumbled Vita who was cuddling with her bunny in her sleep.

Hayate couldn’t help but smile at that, watching Vita sleep always calmed her somehow, and it was so cute she couldn’t resist anyway. Absently, she wondered how Vita would look in their school’s uniform. She got up from bed quietly, taking care not to wake Vita up, and went to the washroom to wash up.

Minutes later she’s in the kitchen, heating up some milk and preparing toasts and eggs for breakfast. As she went about making breakfast, she hummed a random tune and thought of how remarkable that some things can change in such a short amount of time.

2 years ago, magic and other extraordinary occurrence were but some thing out of a storybook. She definitely wouldn’t have thought of becoming the mistress of a group of ancient Belkan knights and a magical tome classified as a first class Lost Logia. To say it was mind blowing would definitely not be far off the mark.

Since then things have changed, she became a mage-knight with a rather high magic power rank for a rookie, saved the world, and joined an interdimensional administration bureau, under the command of one of their navy’s command ship. Some things however, remained unchanged, and Hayate felt grateful for that. No matter how exciting it may seem at times, having some semblance of stability and order in life is never a bad thing.

She still wakes up everyday to make breakfast for her beloved knights, visit the library every now and then to read her favourite fairy tales, and can now regularly attend school too. Even with three of her knights in the armed corps and Shamal a medical staff on the Arthra, the Wolkenritter still have their own activities in Uminari City albeit it being more limited.

They are given a day off every now and then, and work on the Arthra never really took too much of their time as they were still under probation. Signum still has her evening kendo classes, Vita has her croquet games with the local elder’s club every week, Shamal will get the groceries or drop by to chat with the neighbours whenever she can, Tesla hangs out with a few guys she befriended at the arcade she frequents, and Zafira either follows any one of the knights alternately for walks or to watch their activities.

Night would come then, and Signum would be back from her kendo classes, Vita from her croquet game, Tesla from either game clubs or Lan shops or the arcade, Shamal will be back with the groceries in time to prepare for dinner, and Zafira will of course be with one of them as they come home.

Footsteps can be heard shuffling about, indicating that her knights are starting to wake up. “Good morning Hayate-chan, I’ll help you with breakfast okay? You should go get dressed for school.” said Shamal as she entered the kitchen while tying an apron on.

Zafira, who was sleeping in the living room stirred then as he stretched and yawned. Signum walked in to the living room soon after and greeted Hayate with a “Good morning, mistress.” Tesla strolled in next, obviously preoccupied with something, most likely thinking up a strategy or two for that computer war simulation game she had been engrossed with lately. Vita came in last, still half asleep and holding her bunny, mumbling about her glass of morning milk.

Hayate smiled as her knights came in one by one, and she greeted each of them in turn. A thought struck and Hayate turned to Signum and asked, “Signum, how’s the talent search for ‘incredibly and unbelievably overpowered kids’?”

Signum sat on the couch drinking her hot milk and thought for a moment before replying, “Huh? Overpowered? Talent search? I wouldn’t call it a talent search actually… There hasn’t really been all that many talents found, the few we found seem to have potential, but its going to be hard to convince both them and their parents or guardians without some form of demonstration.”

Bemused by that, Hayate commented, “It didn’t seem that hard to convince Nanoha-chan and Keroko-chan’s parents though, or Arisa-chan and Suzuka-chan for that matter.”

“That’s because the Takamichi sisters proved it with their little light show, and mistress’ two friends were unwitting witnesses during the incident with the defensive program of the Book of Darkness, however little they saw. Those that we find to have potential lack the ability to demonstrate any form of magic as of yet, and when bureau clerks do the demos most people just dismiss them as charlatans and tricksters.” Said Signum, as she breathed a sigh, obviously annoyed that her job was made a lot more tedious due to skeptical adults.

“Maybe blowing some things up would convince them,” was Vita’s irresponsible comment from the dining table where she was having her breakfast, an eager gleam in her eyes that was almost scary.

“Absolutely not! Such delicate matters must be analysed thoroughly and then a proper plan formulated. Blowing things up is not the solution to everything.” said Tesla as she chided Vita’s ever-blunt methods in handling things.

Not one to consider taking complicated measures, Vita replied with a frown, “Why go to all that trouble? Blowing things up is the fastest way. They don’t have to blow the house inside out, just maybe a table or two would do.”

“Now, now. Blowing things up would just scare people off and they’ll even call the police.” Said Shamal as she handed Tesla some breakfast.

Vita made a face as she sighed and conceded. “So troublesome and complicated.” She said in a very bored tone.

Thinking it through, it was rather true really. Hayate herself would probably be considered as one of the more unusual with her ready acceptance of a world of magic into her life. Then again, only magic or something extraordinary could explain the phenomena that brought her knights into being that fateful night. “Hmm…must be tough for you.” Mused Hayate.

“Not at all, it’s a lot less stressful than dealing with Lost Logia cases after all. It seems though that the search is going to be in Japan this time, focusing around the Tohoku region. Apparently there have been reports of magical activities around that region for the past few days. They believe that it might be a Lost Logia, so the search will be to try to locate said Lost Logia also.” Signum said as she finished her milk and got up to prepare to go off to work.

“Hmm…Lost Logia huh? Wonder if I’ll be called in to help…” thought Hayate out loud.

Signum smiled at her mistress’ ever-present desire to help out. “Not likely, at least not until it is deemed dangerous.”

“Vita, Tesla, lets go. Might as well have Shamal teleport all of us there together.”

It’s just another day of work for them, and another day of school for Hayate, with equal work and leisure. It feels normal, seems normal, and is essentially normal.

But it doesn’t take a special day, for one’s fate to change, or destiny to be revealed, or simply having a meeting that would change a life forever.

I know there's bound to be discrepancies and such, so if you find any please let me know. Sometimes I can feel that something isn't right with what I write () but I can seem to pinpoint it.

What I've realize after editing multiple times is that I can't seem to write or structure conversations very well. Any tips? *waits for the boos and cheers, hoping to get more of the latter*

A nice start- as Keroko said, more of an intro than a chpater in itself...not that that's bad, of course. I'm looking forward to more.

Oh, I know HK is loyal, and so is Artherion. The only difference is that Artherion has no distaste for his master, despite the fact that she doesn't share the urge to go on a homocidal rage every time she's bored.
