Surprisingly funny episode.

The green-haired girl makes an appearance, who stares at Shungo a lot. From the ending, she also seems to have a brother or something, who doesn't seem to like her getting so close to Shungo.

Reika's hair-twirling thing was so amusing.

There is also "Kamen no Maid Guy" and "To-Love-Ru" parody.

Well Mayu's "powers" at that time should not have been as strong as they are now. And at that time she did not look like she was afraid of guys. And Shungo may be alot more tolerante than we think. Because if that is Mayu and Shungo as I am postove it is, then Shungo could be tolerant to Mayu, and hence explains why he does not lose his mind now.

As UPR also said, not necessarily. They never said in the first episode that Shungo would die, only that he could, since her powers weren't under control. Her powers are especially out of control when she gets scared, which she would have been if she woke up from her unconscious state with him kissing her. If it was automatic death no matter what, they certainly wouldn't be trying to get him to kiss her at all -- they're not trying to kill him...

You know, I have to say -- at first I wasn't too impressed with the way the episode was going (though, not because of the Inukami-style humour - that got a chuckle out of me for sure just for how absolutely silly it was ), but my opinion totally changed as we got to the end. At first it seems sort of pointless and plain (sort of like "I'll foil your evil ways this time, Mayu!"), but, in fact, this turned out to be a really good episode for both Mayu and Hinako. I'm still not sure how much of Hinako's approaching Mayu was totally random, and how much was prompted by Reika, but her honest efforts to get to know her and break the ice really added another dimension to a girl that's otherwise been shown as leader of the girl gang and somewhat of a tease. So the fact that she's a "normal girl", and helped reveal that Mayu is also a "normal girl" was a good two-for-one in terms of character development. So I came into the episode suspicious, but left satisfied.

Reika and Shungo's little scene at the end was actually very important too -- they sort of snuck that one in there, and I almost mised it. Remember her flashback where he protected that trinket for her (in episode 2)? She asked him in the flashback why he was going so far, and it was to protect her treasure. That's why she fell in love with him. So it's incredibly important that she asked him again why he's going so far for "that girl" and his answer is right on -- it's in his nature; he does it without thinking. It's just the sort of guy he is. Of course, this is both good and bad for Reika -- it'll make her fall even more in love with him, but it also means that his nice deed he did for her didn't necessarily mean anything to him (though it means everything to her). We also know (yet again) why Ryoko and Mikihiko chose him for the job; he's a cut above even the usual "nice guy".

And also, though his role is one of the oldest in the comedy history books, Hosaka is just great -- from the pre-OP scene (which was just perfect - you get the feeling that he does this every day, and she just never catches on. So that's how her hair ends up like that! ) to his little comment in the middle of the episode ("It's a really strange plan, though..." ), he's the perfect counter to Reika. It's a shame he has to take the hits for it, but he's a real trouper! What kind of "Special Forces" does Reika have at her command?!

Oh yeah, and also -- the Mayu (I'm pretty sure it's Mayu...) flashback, as was already mentioned. "Take responsibility" indeed...

Well just seems with the guys causing him troubles too it's just how people see Shungo. It's fun to put him into situations because of hte type of guy he is. Might be wrong but think he's certainly human though a bit above the average for certain.

Was nice to see more of Hinako and learn she's more than just a person having fun teasing Shungo. Was understanding better the tough situation he is in living with Mayu. Had thought she was part of the scheme though seems she was just trying to feel Mayu out and figure out what kind of person she really is.

Did think bed head Reika was plenty cute. Though twirling her hair while completely denying interest in Shungo was interesting in itself. She'll probably need to get past that pretty quick since even going for it full tilt it's tough to go against Mayu's abilities.

And seems like we have the Mayu call ready. Wherever their is a terrified cry Shungo will be there. Though man those were some guys I'd really like to avoid at all costs if possible.

Pretty simple answer to that, Mikihiko can control his powers. If there isn't a need to attract women why would he?

First, as far as the question of whether Mayu and Shungo had kissed as kids, and why he didn't die if so, I can think of two possibilities:
1. Ninomiya is not resistant, he's immune. It's sort of like how, in Moonphase, Hazuki says she doesn't know if sunlight and holy water could kill her, because she's not dumb enough to go and test the lethality. Ninomiya forgot, and now he's not going to kiss her willingly because he thinks it'd be suicide.
2. The succubus power seems to be entirely a sexual force, triggering uncontrollable physical desire in members of the other gender. While small children may arguably be capable of love, even romantic love(I'm not arguing), before puberty, it is not until after that that physical and sexual attraction truly manifests. Thus, a prepubescent succubus might not yet have developed or fully manifested this ability. Maybe she got her killer power the same time she got her boobs.

Also, I hate to say this, but as much as I love Reika-chan, when I heard her use the term "qyafunto", the first thing I thought of was Nanbara, the freaky comic relief of Hand Maid May.

Yeah, I was not looking forward to the manbunnies, but it wasn't as eye-searing as Inukami so I survived, I'm grateful this was elephant-free. After episode 2, I was thinking about dropping this, but episode 3 redeemed it for me...you're right, Hosaka does play his role really well, and it was good to see Mayu making friends and some development there. Compared to other leads in similar situations that are allergic to girls and/or complete losers, it's nice to see a lead like Ninomiya who's a plausible love interest, given he's a generally nice guy AND enough of a badass to beat down a bear with his bare hands.

...thus making his feelings for her genuine and not because of him getting seduced by her seeping powers...i like that idea ^^

either way both theories are workable and realistic in the story context. though i am still worried about her change of personality from when we saw her since the kiss to present day (or it could have been her "other half" at the time ) - maybe we will get something like mahoraba.

yeah, I would have loved the episode but the waves of really badly voiced absurd muscle-men just pretty much ruined what was a nice little ep with Hinako and Mayu. Seriously, there were better ways to have Reika try to mess with them and it really didn't even make a lot of sense since I assume she was trying to get Mayu to have a nervous breakdown and the men were gay.

meh... one of those bipolar episodes where'd I'd give the core thread a "7" but the surrounding elements a "2".
