Just amazes you how far things have come. Just for the main tournament. A little under 3 months and closing in on 12,000 posts.
Think with this result can start enjoying Hina's victory as well. It's still a sad thing that Shana fell but you can't win everything. Maybe things have been hectic but also a lot of fun so can't complain about that. Not worried about next year. That's a journey that will be taken care of in its own time. Should be another wild affair But right now a couple champions that should remain the focus of thoughts.

Orange.a will be hailed as a hero when he enters his classroom on Monday!
Before logging off, congratulations to Rika and all the fans behind her. The saddest thing to me in this tournament is the low turnout in the final. Nagi fought well, so it's time to look forward. |

I am just hoping for less faction politics/hate and/or revenge vote for the next year. But, again, this is asking too much for. On the internet.

I think Orange.a has been hailed as a hero already .
It's really turned into quite the situation over at /a/. It would be more interesting if the voting was more on a charcater basis ignoring revenge, past encounters, and just voting by series. But can't control everyone I guess.

Well, I wish to thank all of you for standing with me and helping me fight Fate... We all did this together because without all you guys at AS, Hanyuu would now be resetting Hinamizawa....
I sincerely appreciate all of the efforts of orange.a, Psieye, melange, MotokoAoyama, and everyone else who worked especially hard to make this a great (and really close - 22 votes) win! Now, I think I'll just go back to the shrine and treat Hanyuu to some sweets... にぱ~☆ Spoiler for Now everyone can be Happy!!!!:
Spoiler for See, Hanyuu... I TOLD you we could Fate could be defeated!!!:
heh... I actually might go spam 4chan w/ a kazillion Rika pics みぃ!!!

I came back ;D
HAHAA OMG nearly EVERY thread in /a/ gets hijacked by ni-pahs hilarious Nagi's reaction is an expected one, since she's tsundere about just everything. HAhawheahw really, /a/ is in a rika turmoil. I guess I'll tag along. |

No doubt about it this tournament was full of surprises. Nagi will be fine though even if she's holding back. Can count on Hayate to get her back and cheered up.
Rika should be enjoying her victory. Though Rena might be taking her home. After all if Rika is the official moe champion for this tournament I doubt Rena could be held back.

This tournament would have been more popular (ie, more voting) in the later stages if:
*** sequels of shows where the same characters had won within the past five years were banned (hence, old Nanoha or Rozen Maiden characters can not participate, but newly introduced characters of those shows can). After all, incumbents always have an advantage. and * it were double or even triple elimination format, so that popular characters can have second chances if they ended up facing unbeatable characters in the first round. or * after all ~290 characters are nominated, a couple of rounds of approval voting occur to trim down the number of competitors. Once there are a reasonably small number of competitors left, a round robin tournament is held. or * instead of tournament format, a Borda count (or variant) setup where all the candidates compete at once, through several rounds of eliminations. Sure the Borda count can also be manipulated, but that would be much more difficult with a large number of candidates (more than one is allowed to vote for). Once a small number of competitors are left (5 or so), the French two-round vote is held. These methods would create results that more accurately reflect reality, prevent "revenge voting" and that other crap, prevent strong candidates from being eliminated early due to group seeding, and maintain excitement throughout the entire competition. |
