About the JAppi situation... I don't really know the rules too well because I'm too lazy to read them but I think dis-respecting and pissing off a mod is against the rules o_O;; Eh, I'm not entirely sure of course

If not respecting a Mod is against the rules, that's pretty much a Nazified state of rule right there. He was permanently banned for saying he was going to leave, that's what we are discussing.

Alright- Time for me to actually speak seriously.

Ok. I agree that it was pretty harsh that JAppi was Perm Banned. Anyone that did not cause mass-destruction/annoyance does not deserve such a harsh a punishment.

But

JAppi admitted to making that thread to "trap" xris which seems to me that he wants to wage war of some sort which really is against the rules after all. I'm going to ponder a guess that xris, fully knowing that the thread was an invite for trouble, took extreme action.

The war I mean is the start of yet another thread by another person which was an "anti-xris" thread. (which has already come and gone... I'm sure xris's pm box is full with messages about the matter.)

As Pissed off JAppi might have been I think he could've taken care of things more maturely than setting up "traps" and sparking what could be a war.

Tis my take the in manner.

Oh ya, A little something to add since I'm most likely not going to post in this perticular thread again-

I like JAppi. I think he's an interesting/generally a nice guy and I enjoy reading his posts.

I like xris. I've ran into trouble with him but he was reasonable and all worked out well.

If xris' first decision to ban JAppi permanently was a wrong thing to do, then this "test" of JAppi's is definitely permanent ban worthy. I don't think it was necessary to prove to xris that JAppi had people who like him, because it was pretty obvious that JAppi had many supporters (and haters) here. So if xris was such a bad Admin, then why would he let JAppi come back over and over again?

Face it, JAppi didn't have to prove anything to anyone, and instead he dug himself into a hole in which xris was only to glad to help bury him in.

My opinion:

The mods here do a terrific job, honestly is really hard to be completly objective but they all try their best to do so.

was harsh that JAppi got a perm ban? I think that yes, I'm pretty sure xris knew he was being sarcastic and looking for sympathy, but he was biased against JAppi because his own opinion of him. Nevertheless JAppi did the most stupid thing to do and that is piss off a mod, they both did the wrong thing IMO.

I completely agree...i'm all for sarcasm and fun...but there's only so far you can go with it...especially to try and get someone in any kind of trouble just cause you personally don't like the person

A little too harsh. If it's a permanent ban then I think Xris went a bit too far. I read the thread last night as well and even though Jappi tried to "corner" xris, I think the punishment (perm ban) is too harsh. He was only pleading his case to the general forum. What I am thinking is that Xris didn't really do a permanent ban and Jappi will be back next week.. Then again, it's only what I think.

Why can't Jappi just create a new AS screenname anyway?...
