"So what time are we going to leave tomorrow?" Vivio asked as she zipped her suitcase. After checking to make sure she had her laptop as well, she looked over at Syn and handed her the lighter bag to carry when she offered.

"Five in the morning. It takes a while to get there." Syn sighed out. "I'll have to fill up half way there." The two walked down the hallway together and took the elevator down to the lobby. "I'm glad you're going to be there to talk to me."

Vivio nodded and paused a moment to check her mail at the front desk. After getting a few envelopes, she walked with Syn and got into her car. "Let's see... most of this is just job offers and request... and bills. Open this for me please?" She offered Syn a letter. "do you mind if we swing by my bank before we go to your house?"

"No problem," Syn paused. "Wait, this isn't yours, this is addressed to someone named Hayate."

"That's my middle name." Vivio told her absently. All my bills and my apartment is under that name."

"Do you go by your middle name? to help prevent people from bothering you about your job?"

"Uh... Kind of." Vivio shook her head. "It's just... I don't know, I'd rather use that instead of my first name. I guess you could say it's so people won't be able to get my address."

Syn smirked. "You're paranoid. You've shown my many things you've done and I've never once seen anything but 'Eyes' on it." She thought about it a moment. "Hey, will anyone start bothering me?"

"I don't say your name at all, just that you're my girlfriend. Everyone at work respects that so I don't think anyone will know who you are unless you just come out and say that you're dating me."

"I don't really mind. Besides, I'm dating a popular porn star... that's kind of neat in a bizzare way. I can say I'm dating a star. Even if she has a weird job."

Syn opened her mouth to try and make it up but the blond was already out of the car, grinning at her before she jogged to the bank door. As soon as she got there she slipped and slid along some ice before reaching to grab the door handle to steady herself. Unfortunately for her, the door opened inward just as she was about to grasp it and she ended up falling forward, half inside and half outside of the building. 'I swear, that girl is cursed or something to make me keep falling on my ass." She was hjelped to her feet slowly and grinned shyly as the guy stared at her with wide eyes before asking for an autograph and if he could take a picture with her.

Yay for you having time! Hayate is her middle name... I love that guy at the end though. Also you really should change that I swear line at the end (as JimmyC said). It took me a couple readings to understand what you were trying to say. [whine] Why can't they just go to the party already, I'm waiting for the drama. [/whine] jk.

Vivio groaned low in her throat as a sudden beeping sound interrupted her dream of eating a life sized marshmallow. Movement came in her arms when Syn pulled away lightly to lazily reach out and slam her hand down on the offending alarm clock. As the body moved, Vivio found a mouthful of Syn's hair being pulled from her. Coughing slightly, she reached up and ran her hand down between teh back of Syn's head and her mouth,pulling the rest of the strands away from herself. Before long, soft snoring sounds came again and she realized that her girlfriend had gone back to sleep with one arm still laying on the dresser on top of the now silent clock. Although tempted to sleep again, the blond slowly sat up and rubbed her eyes with one hand while shaking Syn slightly with the other. "Get up," she mumbled groggily.

Syn made an annoyed sound but still sat up as well, staring with blank eyes at the blankets around their waists. Vivio crawled around her to get out of the bed and stumbled to the bathroom. The lights made the one still in bed hold up a hand to block it from blinding her. She allowed herself a few more moments to wake up before finally getting out of bed and picking up yesterday's bluejeans to pull up her legs. The button was fastened and her extra long nightshirt with the words "This is my sexy lingerie" on it was tossed on the floor to cover the part of her carpet she could see. After raiding a drawer she put on a baby blue colored bra and fastened it just as Vivio came back into the main room of her apartment.

Vivio, now seemingly fully awake now, gave her girlfriend a peck to the cheek before she began changing into her clothes. "You know," the blond spoke softly as if to not disturb the quiet of the peaceful morning. "Waking up along with someone is really really nice."

"You said that before," Syn yawned when she tried to speak. "But yes, I think so too... you should stay with me more often."

Vivio tied the string on the front of her khaki pants and nodded. "You're welcome to stay with me too, when we get back in a few days. Where do your parents live anyway? I didn't even think to ask."

"A few miles from the capital." She paused a moment. "I wonder if Daddy knows your job."

Vivio grinned. "This is going to be interesting." She looked at her girlfriend a moment and then picked up her suitcase. "Ready?"

"Ready." Syn got her duffel bag and her car keys. "Let's go then."

Woah Ninja'd! That part about waking up together was cute. It's not fun to wake up alone.

Vivio pushed up her glasses lightly on her nose and began flipping through the papers in front of herself. “Okay let's see... Here,” She showed Syn a sheet and scooted closer to her. “Right here, this is my basic 'will do' list. It says...well, what I'm comfortable with doing. I can edit it once or twice during my contract but this really outlines my upcoming work. The less I have on here, the less money I will bring in. I need to be lenient with it.”

Syn nodded and looked at the list and the check marks next to the words. “Um, what's this mean?” She pointed and got a small giggle along with the answer. “Oh, okay...” she fidgeted in her seat.

“Are you uncomfortable?”

“... A little but not bad. I'm just... you know, saying that my girlfriend will be doing this stuff. It's kind of weird more than being upset.”

Vivio nodded in understanding. “Would you feel more comfortable with it if you saw me doing it?” She got blinked at. “I have my videos, I can show them to you. You watched a few didn't you?”

“Just your solo scenes and webcam recordings.” Syn gave her a light lopsided smile. “I'm comfortable with it, just still weird to me. Anyway, let's see... Strip clubs?”

“What's different about this and what you do now?”

“Basically more work. I will go around promoting things, do more videos, guest star on other company's videos, and the like. I've already got almost three hundred subscribers to my webpage now, it went up dramatically since my last video.”

Syn nodded and could tell that her girlfriend was proud. “Congratulations.”

“Thank you. Ohhhh, so much to think about now.” Vivio quickly began flipping through the contents of the folder and signing her name to them. “I can't wait to get started!”

“You can't wait to have sex?”

Vivio stuck out her tongue. “Let me see your computer.” The request gained her Syn's laptop after a few moments of waiting for it to be brought to her. “Here, this is your user name and password to my website. I'll save it for you.”

Syn shook her head. “Why do I need that, I have the real thing here.” She wrapped her arms around Vivio and looked over her shoulder at the page. This time she didn't feel her stomach turn but instead felt a small sense of satisfaction that her girlfriend was doing so well in her life all of a sudden. “Hey...” Her arms tightened lightly and she nipped at Vivio's neck. “How about you give me some time right now?”

“Three hundred dollars for the first hour.” Vivio told her casually while closing the laptop. “Just kidding.” She kissed Syn's cheek. “Later, I need to do something first.”

“What?” The blue haired one frowned when Vivio stood up.

“Clean your apartment, it's a mess in here.” She went to the kitchen area and lifted up a plate laying on the counter, grimacing as long stands of left over food stuck it to the platter underneath it. “Where are your cleaning supplies?”

“Don't I have a say in this?” Syn countered her.

“No.” Vivio smiled and looked over at the girl walking to her. “Mou, Syn, you're still so touchy.” She blushed as hands slipped under her shirt and body made her take a few steps backwards to lean against the wall. “Ngghhnn... Let me clean first.”

“I'm jealous,” Syn whispered to her, trying to get the girl's pants unbuttoned. “They get to see you do their wildest dreams and all I got was a lap dance that drove me crazy all night long.”

“Mou, okay...” Vivio grabbed Syn's shoulders and pushed her back until she fell down onto her bed. “But we do it my way.” She smirked and turned on Syn's radio. The station was changed until she found a suitable song to dance to and she smiled at her eager looking girlfriend. “This is a special case, because I'm happy.” She informed her as her hips swayed to the music. “But since I'm working on my time off, you have to as well.”

“What do you mean?” Syn watched the blond move.

“You're cooking me dinner.” Slowly she pulled off her shirt and dropped it onto the floor to show a simple white bra. Syn's hands went up to touch her but were quickly and gently slapped away. “No touching until I say you can.” A cat like grin spread over her face as her already unbuttoned pants fell to the floor to show white stockings, garter belt, and panties. One hand went up behind her head and the other rested on her hip to pose. “Like?”

“Very.” Very breathed out as she was straddled and rubbed on. “Can I touch...?”

Vivio breathed into Syn's ear and spoke into it huskily, suddenly grinding her body against hers. “No...” She licked her earlobe and sucked on it, pinning Syn's hands to the bed.

Syn answered her phone quickly, flipping it open so the ring tone wouldn't wake up the girl sleeping on her bed. Although her treat had lasted the better part of half an hour, she felt rather flustered that she wasn't allowed to touch her not even once during it but at the same time knew that Vivio was just teasing her. “Hi mom,” she greeted the phone contently. “Hm? I'm not doing anything... No, Vivio is taking a nap, she stayed up really late. I'll have to talk quietly.” She paused and sat down next to her girlfriend, who was sleeping peacefully. “Thanksgiving? Sure I'll come. Never pass up free food that you don't have to cook... I don't think she is doing anything, no.” Syn smiled fondly. “I'd love to invite her to come over to meet you and dad.” Her hands threaded through the blond's hair and she had to repress a giggle when the girl didn't even stir from the motion. “Who else is going to be there?” Syn pulled the covers over Vivio's body so she wouldn't catch a cold. “Oh, some important people? Sounds neat, I'd like to meet them. What division are they in?” Syn smiled down at her girlfriend while listening. “Sixth mobile Division, what a bland name.” She laughed softly. “Go ahead and make plans for us to be there, I'll invite her when she wakes up.”

Vivio slowly sat up and rubbed her eyes, inhaling a pleasant scent through her nose. Syn had her back turned to the girl and was busy cooking, humming to herself as she stirred the contents of something that Vivio couldn't see. Red and green eyes looked around to find her earlier disregarded clothing during her lap dance and put them on as quietly as she could to avoid the embarrassment of having Syn see her naked again. Once covered she walked to the kitchen area and was smiled at. "Hey," Vivio yawned out the word before wrapping her arms around her girlfriend from behind. "How long did I sleep?"

"Almost three hours." Syn put a cover on her skillet and leaned back against Vivio's chest. "Hey, what are you doing for thanksgiving?"

"I have a shoot tonight for my webpage, but I can set it to automatically update on the day itself so nothing really."

"A Thanksgiving special?" Syn almost laughed. "What, are they going to stuff you or something?"

"Yes, with turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, salad-" She stopped her joking when Syn did start laughing at her. "But really, it's nothing big, shouldn't take more than an hour to shoot it."

"What are you going to do?"

"Want to come watch?" Vivio hugged her. "It may be a bit much, but you can meet some of my friends before we do the shoot."

"I'll go meet your friends, I don't know about watching." Syn patted Vivio's hands. "I'll watch the recording of it with you okay?"

"That's fine, you can stay in my dressing room while we shoot it, I have a TV in there." Vivio nodded to herself. "Oh, why did you ask anyway?"

"My mom and dad want to meet you." Syn gripped the skillet in front of herself with one hand and took the lid off with the other so she could flip the contents around. "I'd really like it if you came to my home for Thanksgiving?"

"Oh wow... okay, I'm a bit nervous though... who will be there? Am I going to meet all of your family?"

"No, just my parents and a few higher-ups from their work that they are friends with. Something about a gathering of friends that they haven't seen in a while and all that. I won't know them either so we can just stick together off to the side."

"Okay, that's good." Vivio kissed Syn's cheek. "When do we leave?"

"Tomorrow, so we can drive down there and be in time for dinner, then thanksgiving day after, stay that night, and come back. Is that too long?"

"No, I can go a while without updating my page since I'm doing that one tonight." She smiled happily. "I'm looking forward to it."

Syn looked around nervously as she was handed a guest ID card to walk around the studio with Vivio. "I feel weird," She whispered to her friend once they were away from the receptionist. "It's like everyone who looks at me wants to bend me over a table and go to town on me."

"As fun as that would be to watch, don't worry about it."

"Wait," Syn cut her off. "You'd like to see that?"

"Hm? Yes, that would be rather erotic." She stuck out her tongue at her friend, not positive if Syn was sure if she was serious or not. "But really, everyone here is professional. The blue haired girl whistled lightly. "It's huge." The single room was indeed big enough for everything mentioned and still be comfortable to lounge in. "They treat everyone really nice here, huh?"

"Well, the normal ranked people don't have rooms, they just come here, do their thing, and leave."

"So since you're a star you have a room?"

"Well, I have paper work to do and-"

"Whoa, you have paperwork?" Syn blinked.

Vivio looked offended. "Of course! I'm under contract labor, I have to do all my own taxes, sign forms of release for the recordings, schedule my filmings, talk to people, sometimes we have employee cookouts so people gather in my dressing room to hang out in-"

"Okay, I get it." Syn rolled her eyes. "Forgive me for not knowing."

"Well that's why I asked you here." Vivio sniffed at her and crossed her arms.

"Yeah..." Syn sighed. "Sorry, it's just weird knowing that you're about to go and have sex with someone. I'm okay with it, but it's still a little awkward." Before she could go on a knock at their door made them pause. Vivio bid them to come in and before Syn could react, a small child ran past her and hugged Vivio's legs.

"Vivio!" The girl greeted happily as she was holstered up to be balanced on the older woman's hips.

Vivio smiled at the small red haired girl. "Why hello there, Lina."

"Lina!" a new voice coming into the room made everyone look to see a blond haired girl with crystal blue eyes. "Don't run off like that, and use your manors."

Lina pouted slightly. "Yes Mama."

Vivio walked over to the woman and grinned. "Hey Krissy, how're you?"

"Great, we're about to go to Mark's parent's for thanksgiving."

Vivio smiled and pulled Syn over to her with her free hand. "that sounds really wonderful Krissy, I'm going to my girlfriend's place this year. Syn, meet Krisslanza. Krissy, meet Syn."

Syn nodded at her. "Nice to meet you."

"Oh, Syn!" Krisslanza smiled brightly. "Vivio has told us so much about you, it's great to finally meet you!" The blue haired girl blinked. "Oh you are quite a cute little thing! Way to go Vivio!"

"Krissy!" Vivio scolded her, blushing brightly. "Don't tell her that, it's embarrassing." She glanced at Syn lightly and then averted her eyes. Lina decided that she wanted down at that moment so Vivio sat her down onto her feet.

"Hey everyone," A new voice made them look at the door once again, this time seeing a guy.

Krisslanza giggled. "Honey, meet Syn, she's the girl Vivio rants about being head over heels in love with all the time."

"KRISSY!"

Syn felt her lips turn up slightly and nodded at the man walking over to them as he reached down to pick up his daughter and smile brightly at the child. "Nice to meet you."

Vivio stood closer to Syn to introduce them. "Syn, this is Mark, he's the one I'm going to be filming with today."

"Oh." Syn nodded again and watched Mark talking with his daughter.

Krisslanza nodded to confirm it before turning to Vivio again. "Vivio, would you mind if I watched after Lina in your dressing room? The day care is closed for the thanksgiving weekend already and I need to get back to my job soon, I'm on my dinner break."

"Sure! Syn is going to be in here too so you can get to know each other." She looked at the still open door when someone poked his head in to speak with them.

"Guys, set two is ready. Eyes, please change into your outfit, it's on your vanity." With that the man left them once more to continue his rounds.

Mark waved at them after swapping his daughter back to her mother once more. "I'll see you then, Eyes." He left the three girls as well and closed the door behind him.

Vivio walked to her vanity and opened the box, pulling out a black skirt and a matching 'buisness woman' top. "Seems like I'm going for the secretary look today." She began changing clothes while Syn watched her curiously. "Are you positive you don't want to watch, Honey?"

Syn shook her head. "No thank you. You go do your thing and I'll be here when you get back." Vivio finished changing and hung up her casual clothes. On the way out she kissed Syn's cheek and smiled at her one last time before hurrying out of the room. Once the door was closed again the blue haired girl looked over at the mother/daughter combo sitting in front of the now turned on Television. "So, you known Vivio a while?"

Krisslanza nodded and left the channel on something her daughter would like. "I met her a few years ago while I was waiting on Mark to finish a scene. I was talking about how hard one of my college classes was after the shoot and she overheard me. After a while she offered her help with it because she seemed to know a lot about the subject. After that we ate lunch together and really hit it off. Poor thing was so scared about her new job and didn't know anything about it so I kind of explained how it worked. Although I'm not into the business, my husband is so I knew enough."

"Was it hard for you to accept it all?" Syn sat down next to her and looked down at the quiet child watching cartoons. "Sorry this must be weird."

"Oh no, you're going through the same thing I did." Krisslanza smiled at her happily. "No, it was really hard at first. But you have to separate work from home. I'm sure Vivio has talked to you about that?" She got a nod. "Mark loves me more than anyone else in the world." She fondly touched her wedding band. "His work doesn't mean anything, it's just what he does. Same with Vivio. Did you know she refused to work for almost a month when you two broke up?"

Syn flinched. "Really?"

"Mmhmm, she came to work to try to but she ended up staying in her dressing room crying. I talked to her a while to help her through it and she eventually got better. You have no idea how much she talks about you. Can't shut her up."

Syn felt a small smile tug at her lips. "That's interesting, what does she say?"

Sure enough, just as she was about to comment on how fast the time went by, the door to the room opened and a messy Vivio walked in. Looking at her, Syn gaped at the sight. Her girlfriend was covered from head to foot with what looked like smeared mashed potatoes, corn, dressing, stuffing, bread crumbs, gravy, turkey, and egg salad. "What in the world happened to you!?"

Vivio gave her best grin ever. "I got stuffed."

Syn made an annoyed sound but still sat up as well, staring with blank eyes at the blankets around their waists. Vivio crawled around her to get out of the bed and stumbled to the bathroom. The lights made the one still in bed hold up a hand to block it from blinding her. She allowed herself a few more moments to wake up before finally getting out of bed and picking up yesterday's bluejeans to pull up her legs. The button was fastened and her extra long nightshirt with the words "This is my sexy lingerie" on it was tossed on the floor to cover the part of her carpet she could see. After raiding a drawer she put on a baby blue colored bra and fastened it just as Vivio came back into the main room of her apartment.

Vivio, now seemingly fully awake now, gave her girlfriend a peck to the cheek before she began changing into her clothes. "You know," the blond spoke softly as if to not disturb the quiet of the peaceful morning. "Waking up along with someone is really really nice."

"You said that before," Syn yawned when she tried to speak. "But yes, I think so too... you should stay with me more often."

Vivio tied the string on the front of her khaki pants and nodded. "You're welcome to stay with me too, when we get back in a few days. Where do your parents live anyway? I didn't even think to ask."

"A few miles from the capital." She paused a moment. "I wonder if Daddy knows your job."

Vivio grinned. "This is going to be interesting." She looked at her girlfriend a moment and then picked up her suitcase. "Ready?"

I can edit it once or twice during my contract but this really outlines my upcoming work. The less I have on here, the less money I will bring in. I need to be lenient with it.”

Sure I'll come. Never pass up free food that you don't have to cook... I don't think she is doing anything, no.” Syn smiled fondly. “I'd love to invite her to come over to meet you and dad.” Her hands threaded through the blond's hair and she had to repress a giggle when the girl didn't even stir from the motion. “Who else is going to be there?” Syn pulled the covers over Vivio's body so she wouldn't catch a cold. “Oh, some important people? Sounds neat, I'd like to meet them. What division are they in?” Syn smiled down at her girlfriend while listening. “Sixth mobile Division, what a bland name.” She laughed softly. “Go ahead and make plans for us to be there, I'll invite her when she wakes up.”

"That's fine, you can stay in my dressing room while we shoot it, I have a TV in there." Vivio nodded to herself. "Oh, why did you ask anyway?"

"My mom and dad want to meet you." Syn gripped the skillet in front of herself with one hand and took the lid off with the other so she could flip the contents around. "I'd really like it if you came to my home for Thanksgiving?"

"Oh wow... okay, I'm a bit nervous though... who will be there? Am I going to meet all of your family?"

"No, just my parents and a few higher-ups from their work that they are friends with. Something about a gathering of friends that they haven't seen in a while and all that. I won't know them either so we can just stick together off to the side."

"Okay, that's good." Vivio kissed Syn's cheek. "When do we leave?"

"Tomorrow, so we can drive down there and be in time for dinner, then thanksgiving day after, stay that night, and come back. Is that too long?"

"No, I can go a while without updating my page since I'm doing that one tonight." She smiled happily. "I'm looking forward to it."

Krisslanza giggled. "Honey, meet Syn, she's the girl Vivio rants about being head over heels in love with all the time."

Vivio walked to her vanity and opened the box, pulling out a black skirt and a matching 'buisness woman' top. "Seems like I'm going for the secretary look today." She began changing clothes while Syn watched her curiously. "Are you positive you don't want to watch, Honey?"

On the way out she kissed Syn's cheek and smiled at her one last time before hurrying out of the room. Once the door was closed again the blue haired girl looked over at the mother/daughter combo sitting in front of the now turned on Television. "So, you known Vivio a while?"

Krisslanza nodded and left the channel on something her daughter would like. "I met her a few years ago while I was waiting on Mark to finish a scene. I was talking about how hard one of my college classes was after the shoot and she overheard me. After a while she offered her help with it because she seemed to know a lot about the subject. After that we ate lunch together and really hit it off. Poor thing was so scared about her new job and didn't know anything about it so I kind of explained how it worked. Although I'm not into the business, my husband is so I knew enough."

"Was it hard for you to accept it all?" Syn sat down next to her and looked down at the quiet child watching cartoons. "Sorry this must be weird."

"Oh no, you're going through the same thing I did." Krisslanza smiled at her happily. "No, it was really hard at first. But you have to separate work from home. I'm sure Vivio has talked to you about that?" She got a nod. "Mark loves me more than anyone else in the world." She fondly touched her wedding band. "His work doesn't mean anything, it's just what he does. Same with Vivio. Did you know she refused to work for almost a month when you two broke up?"

Syn flinched. "Really?"

"Mmhmm, she came to work to try to but she ended up staying in her dressing room crying. I talked to her a while to help her through it and she eventually got better. You have no idea how much she talks about you. Can't shut her up."

Syn felt a small smile tug at her lips. "That's interesting, what does she say?"

Her girlfriend was covered from head to foot with what looked like smeared mashed potatoes, corn, dressing, stuffing, bread crumbs, gravy, turkey, and egg salad. "What in the world happened to you!?"

Vivio slowly sat up and rubbed her eyes, inhaling a pleasant scent through her nose. Syn had her back turned to the girl and was busy cooking, humming to herself as she stirred the contents of something that Vivio couldn't see. Red and green eyes looked around to find her earlier disregarded clothing during her lap dance and put them on as quietly as she could to avoid the embarrassment of having Syn see her naked again. Once covered she walked to the kitchen area and was smiled at. "Hey," Vivio yawned out the word before wrapping her arms around her girlfriend from behind. "How long did I sleep?"

"Almost three hours." Syn put a cover on her skillet and leaned back against Vivio's chest. "Hey, what are you doing for thanksgiving?"

"I have a shoot tonight for my webpage, but I can set it to automatically update on the day itself so nothing really."

"A Thanksgiving special?" Syn almost laughed. "What, are they going to stuff you or something?"

"Yes, with turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, salad-" She stopped her joking when Syn did start laughing at her. "But really, it's nothing big, shouldn't take more than an hour to shoot it."

"What are you going to do?"

"Want to come watch?" Vivio hugged her. "It may be a bit much, but you can meet some of my friends before we do the shoot."

"I'll go meet your friends, I don't know about watching." Syn patted Vivio's hands. "I'll watch the recording of it with you okay?"

"That's fine, you can stay in my dressing room while we shoot it, I have a TV in there." Vivio nodded to herself. "Oh, why did you ask anyway?"

"My mom and dad want to meet you." Syn gripped the skillet in front of herself with one hand and took the lid off with the other so she could flip the contents around. "I'd really like it if you came to my home for Thanksgiving?"

"Oh wow... okay, I'm a bit nervous though... who will be there? Am I going to meet all of your family?"

"No, just my parents and a few higher-ups from their work that they are friends with. Something about a gathering of friends that they haven't seen in a while and all that. I won't know them either so we can just stick together off to the side."

"Okay, that's good." Vivio kissed Syn's cheek. "When do we leave?"

"Tomorrow, so we can drive down there and be in time for dinner, then thanksgiving day after, stay that night, and come back. Is that too long?"

"No, I can go a while without updating my page since I'm doing that one tonight." She smiled happily. "I'm looking forward to it."

Syn looked around nervously as she was handed a guest ID card to walk around the studio with Vivio. "I feel weird," She whispered to her friend once they were away from the receptionist. "It's like everyone who looks at me wants to bend me over a table and go to town on me."

"As fun as that would be to watch, don't worry about it."

"Wait," Syn cut her off. "You'd like to see that?"

"Hm? Yes, that would be rather erotic." She stuck out her tongue at her friend, not positive if Syn was sure if she was serious or not. "But really, everyone here is professional. They don't need to skirt chase, their job is to have sex." She waved at some of her friends who were walking from a set.

Syn was still looking at her from the corner of her eyes. "Okay, if you say so... It's still a little creepy. Gah, I'm sorry that was rude."

"Syn doesn't think before speaking, I'm used to it by now." Vivio elbowed her playfully before opening the door that had her name on it. "Here's my dressing room. Short tour, there's my couch, my vanity, my shower, and my clothes."

The blue haired girl whistled lightly. "It's huge." The single room was indeed big enough for everything mentioned and still be comfortable to lounge in. "They treat everyone really nice here, huh?"

"Well, the normal ranked people don't have rooms, they just come here, do their thing, and leave."

"So since you're a star you have a room?"

"Well, I have paper work to do and-"

"Whoa, you have paperwork?" Syn blinked.

Vivio looked offended. "Of course! I'm under contract labor, I have to do all my own taxes, sign forms of release for the recordings, schedule my filmings, talk to people, sometimes we have employee cookouts so people gather in my dressing room to hang out in-"

"Okay, I get it." Syn rolled her eyes. "Forgive me for not knowing."

"Well that's why I asked you here." Vivio sniffed at her and crossed her arms.

"Yeah..." Syn sighed. "Sorry, it's just weird knowing that you're about to go and have sex with someone. I'm okay with it, but it's still a little awkward." Before she could go on a knock at their door made them pause. Vivio bid them to come in and before Syn could react, a small child ran past her and hugged Vivio's legs.

"Vivio!" The girl greeted happily as she was holstered up to be balanced on the older woman's hips.

Vivio smiled at the small red haired girl. "Why hello there, Lina."

"Lina!" a new voice coming into the room made everyone look to see a blond haired girl with crystal blue eyes. "Don't run off like that, and use your manors."

Lina pouted slightly. "Yes Mama."

Vivio walked over to the woman and grinned. "Hey Krissy, how're you?"

"Great, we're about to go to Mark's parent's for thanksgiving."

Vivio smiled and pulled Syn over to her with her free hand. "that sounds really wonderful Krissy, I'm going to my girlfriend's place this year. Syn, meet Krisslanza. Krissy, meet Syn."

Syn nodded at her. "Nice to meet you."

"Oh, Syn!" Krisslanza smiled brightly. "Vivio has told us so much about you, it's great to finally meet you!" The blue haired girl blinked. "Oh you are quite a cute little thing! Way to go Vivio!"

"Krissy!" Vivio scolded her, blushing brightly. "Don't tell her that, it's embarrassing." She glanced at Syn lightly and then averted her eyes. Lina decided that she wanted down at that moment so Vivio sat her down onto her feet.

"Hey everyone," A new voice made them look at the door once again, this time seeing a guy.

Krisslanza giggled. "Honey, meet Syn, she's the girl Vivio rants about being head over heels in love with all the time."

"KRISSY!"

Syn felt her lips turn up slightly and nodded at the man walking over to them as he reached down to pick up his daughter and smile brightly at the child. "Nice to meet you."

Vivio stood closer to Syn to introduce them. "Syn, this is Mark, he's the one I'm going to be filming with today."

"Oh." Syn nodded again and watched Mark talking with his daughter.

Krisslanza nodded to confirm it before turning to Vivio again. "Vivio, would you mind if I watched after Lina in your dressing room? The day care is closed for the thanksgiving weekend already and I need to get back to my job soon, I'm on my dinner break."

"Sure! Syn is going to be in here too so you can get to know each other." She looked at the still open door when someone poked his head in to speak with them.

"Guys, set two is ready. Eyes, please change into your outfit, it's on your vanity." With that the man left them once more to continue his rounds.

Mark waved at them after swapping his daughter back to her mother once more. "I'll see you then, Eyes." He left the three girls as well and closed the door behind him.

Vivio walked to her vanity and opened the box, pulling out a black skirt and a matching 'buisness woman' top. "Seems like I'm going for the secretary look today." She began changing clothes while Syn watched her curiously. "Are you positive you don't want to watch, Honey?"

Syn shook her head. "No thank you. You go do your thing and I'll be here when you get back." Vivio finished changing and hung up her casual clothes. On the way out she kissed Syn's cheek and smiled at her one last time before hurrying out of the room. Once the door was closed again the blue haired girl looked over at the mother/daughter combo sitting in front of the now turned on Television. "So, you known Vivio a while?"

Krisslanza nodded and left the channel on something her daughter would like. "I met her a few years ago while I was waiting on Mark to finish a scene. I was talking about how hard one of my college classes was after the shoot and she overheard me. After a while she offered her help with it because she seemed to know a lot about the subject. After that we ate lunch together and really hit it off. Poor thing was so scared about her new job and didn't know anything about it so I kind of explained how it worked. Although I'm not into the business, my husband is so I knew enough."

"Was it hard for you to accept it all?" Syn sat down next to her and looked down at the quiet child watching cartoons. "Sorry this must be weird."

"Oh no, you're going through the same thing I did." Krisslanza smiled at her happily. "No, it was really hard at first. But you have to separate work from home. I'm sure Vivio has talked to you about that?" She got a nod. "Mark loves me more than anyone else in the world." She fondly touched her wedding band. "His work doesn't mean anything, it's just what he does. Same with Vivio. Did you know she refused to work for almost a month when you two broke up?"

Syn flinched. "Really?"

"Mmhmm, she came to work to try to but she ended up staying in her dressing room crying. I talked to her a while to help her through it and she eventually got better. You have no idea how much she talks about you. Can't shut her up."

Syn felt a small smile tug at her lips. "That's interesting, what does she say?"

Syn grinned at hearing that. "That's not too bad, I was worried she'd talk about our love life."

Syn felt her cheeks color slightly and looked away for a moment, eying the small child giggling at the television screen. "It's weird..."

"What is?"

"This is so different than what I thought, even after talking to her about it so much. I thought I knew everything there was about it, but I just keep learning more... I mean, you brought your child here to stay in Vivio's room while your husband is having sex with her right now. While they're doing that, we're talking as if we didn't just meet for the first time." She smiled softly. "I'm really relieved. Everything is just as she said it was. She loves me... this is just work."

"Mmhmm. A really weird concept, but once it clicks, it's simple." Krisslanza leaned back in the chair. "I wonder if they're almost done."

"Already!?" Syn looked at the clock and realized that they had been talking for almost two hours. Sure enough, just as she was about to comment on how fast the time went by, the door to the room opened and a messy Vivio walked in. Looking at her, Syn gaped at the sight. Her girlfriend was covered from head to foot with what looked like smeared mashed potatoes, corn, dressing, stuffing, bread crumbs, gravy, turkey, and egg salad. "What in the world happened to you!?"

Vivio gave her best grin ever. "I got stuffed."

"So what time are we going to leave tomorrow?" Vivio asked as she zipped her suitcase. After checking to make sure she had her laptop as well, she looked over at Syn and handed her the lighter bag to carry when she offered.

"Five in the morning. It takes a while to get there." Syn sighed out. "I'll have to fill up half way there." The two walked down the hallway together and took the elevator down to the lobby. "I'm glad you're going to be there to talk to me."

Vivio nodded and paused a moment to check her mail at the front desk. After getting a few envelopes, she walked with Syn and got into her car. "Let's see... most of this is just job offers and request... and bills. Open this for me please?" She offered Syn a letter. "do you mind if we swing by my bank before we go to your house?"

"No problem," Syn paused. "Wait, this isn't yours, this is addressed to someone named Hayate."

"That's my middle name." Vivio told her absently. All my bills and my apartment is under that name."

"Do you go by your middle name? to help prevent people from bothering you about your job?"

"Uh... Kind of." Vivio shook her head. "It's just... I don't know, I'd rather use that instead of my first name. I guess you could say it's so people won't be able to get my address."

Syn smirked. "You're paranoid. You've shown my many things you've done and I've never once seen anything but 'Eyes' on it." She thought about it a moment. "Hey, will anyone start bothering me?"

"I don't say your name at all, just that you're my girlfriend. Everyone at work respects that so I don't think anyone will know who you are unless you just come out and say that you're dating me."

"I don't really mind. Besides, I'm dating a popular porn star... that's kind of neat in a bizzare way. I can say I'm dating a star. Even if she has a weird job."

"It's not weird!" she pouted at Syn and stuck out her bottom lip cutely. "I told you, we were actually going to eat all that food on the set before people started throwing it around to have fun. It was just a fun shoot, not something we really do."

"Sure." Syn laughed and turned off to go into vivio's bank. "Okay then, Hayate, go make your deposit, I'm sitting in the car where it's warm."

"Meanie." The girl stuck out her tongue. "and I was going to buy you dinner too for letting me stay at your place." Syn opened her mouth to try and make it up but the blond was already out of the car, grinning at her before she jogged to the bank door. As soon as she got there she slipped and slid along some ice before reaching to grab the door handle to steady herself. Unfortunately for her, the door opened inward just as she was about to grasp it and she ended up falling forward, half inside and half outside of the building. 'I swear, that girl is cursed or something to make me keep falling on my ass." She was helped to her feet slowly and grinned shyly as the guy stared at her with wide eyes before asking for an autograph a picture with her.

Vivio groaned low in her throat as a sudden beeping sound interrupted her dream of eating a life sized marshmallow. Movement came in her arms when Syn pulled away lightly to lazily reach out and slam her hand down on the offending alarm clock. As the body moved, Vivio found a mouthful of Syn's hair being pulled from her. Coughing slightly, she reached up and ran her hand down between teh back of Syn's head and her mouth,pulling the rest of the strands away from herself. Before long, soft snoring sounds came again and she realized that her girlfriend had gone back to sleep with one arm still laying on the dresser on top of the now silent clock. Although tempted to sleep again, the blond slowly sat up and rubbed her eyes with one hand while shaking Syn slightly with the other. "Get up," she mumbled groggily.

Syn made an annoyed sound but still sat up as well, staring with blank eyes at the blankets around their waists. Vivio crawled around her to get out of the bed and stumbled to the bathroom. The lights made the one still in bed hold up a hand to block it from blinding her. She allowed herself a few more moments to wake up before finally getting out of bed and picking up yesterday's bluejeans to pull up her legs. The button was fastened and her extra long nightshirt with the words "This is my sexy lingerie" on it was tossed on the floor to cover the part of her carpet she could see. After raiding a drawer she put on a baby blue colored bra and fastened it just as Vivio came back into the main room of her apartment.

Vivio, now seemingly fully awake now, gave her girlfriend a peck to the cheek before she began changing into her clothes. "You know," the blond spoke softly as if to not disturb the quiet of the peaceful morning. "Waking up along with someone is really really nice."

"You said that before," Syn yawned when she tried to speak. "But yes, I think so too... you should stay with me more often."

Vivio tied the string on the front of her khaki pants and nodded. "You're welcome to stay with me too, when we get back in a few days. Where do your parents live anyway? I didn't even think to ask."

"A few miles from the capital." She paused a moment. "I wonder if Daddy knows your job."

Vivio grinned. "This is going to be interesting." She looked at her girlfriend a moment and then picked up her suitcase. "Ready?"

"Ready." Syn got her duffel bag and her car keys. "Let's go then."

Lutecia sighed, wincing as her right shoulder throbbed in agony as she walked down the hallway of the Mid-Childan TSAB ground base. From the very beginning, she’d known that her job would make her do things she didn’t like; her instructors had been very blunt about it when she’d first signed up at ten years old. The unit she’d been assigned to in her early teens was still considered in its infancy, a small team that focused specifically on studying villains and rooting them out of hiding when they disappeared from the map.

In most cases, to be very honest, it translated into long, dark nights in a seedy bar, flirting with some son of a bitch who was only interested in getting in her pants, never mind the fact that she was nineteen to his fifty-nine. The purple-haired woman shuddered at the image and muttered as the motion made her shoulder ache again. Last night had been a smashing success: the man had been put behind bars after a brief tussle, and all Lutecia was left with now was to hand her report in and to find Caro or Erio to snap her shoulder back in joint.

It took all of her willpower and then some not to scream as she was tackled from behind; the pain was hot and sharp, but as she heard her attacker giggle like a fool Lutecia decided she could endure it as she reached back, gently brushing the shorter girl’s cheek. “Hey, Vi.” She paused for a moment, smirked. “School uniform?”
“Yeah, no practice today.” Vivio gave Lutecia a gentle squeeze before releasing her, easily stepping to her side. “Fate-mama came back from her mission today, and the bedroom door’s been closed ever since.” She paused, grinned, and did a little turn, her skirt flaring up a bit at the edges. “What do you think?”

Lutecia thought that if she didn’t have amazingly strong willpower, she would have tackled Vivio right then and there. Her recent onslaught of missions and her avoidance of the younger teen prior to their getting together had caused her to miss out on a great deal of her budding high school career, and as a result she hadn’t even seen her school uniform. It was more or less an older, slightly risqué version of the uniform she’d worn when she’d been six.

Her skirt’s definitely gotten shorter, though…

“Nanoha-san must have had a heart attack,” the purple-haired woman commented mildly, but her gaze was appreciative. Vivio grinned and bounced on her heels, stepping closer to her girlfriend. Her expression changed as she noticed the masked discomfort floating in her burgundy eyes. “Hey. What’s wrong?”

The taller woman shrugged and immediately winced, one hand flying up to cradle her throbbing shoulder. “Nothing special. I had a mission last night, and the guy got a good grip on my shoulder.” She grimaced. “I meant to find Erio or Caro to snap it back into place, but I haven’t seen them yet.”
“Hold still, Cia.”

Narrowing her eyes, Vivio reached up and gripped Lutecia’s shoulder, her fingers digging in to get a firm, hard grip, standing up on her tiptoes to complete the action. Understanding what she was about to do, Lutecia took a deep breath and braced herself. Moving fast, Vivio yanked on Lutecia’s shoulder, and was rewarded with a sharp click; Lutecia yelped and hissed out a breath, shuddering as hot pain coursed through her shoulder in retaliation to the action. Vivio released her immediately, stepping closer and gently cupping her cheek. “Cia?”
“I’m okay.” Lutecia smiled reassuringly, covering Vivio’s hand with her own. “It feels better now. Thanks, Vi.”

Vivio’s curved in response, and unable to resist she leaned in, gently touching her lips to Lutecia’s in a light kiss. It didn’t last long; with a sigh Lutecia pulled back, though her arm had moved of its own will and had hugged Vivio to her chest. “I’ve got to go,” she murmured. “I still need to give General Yagami my report. She supervises my branch and she’s had her eyes on this guy for awhile.”
“Mou, no fair.” Vivio pouted, but her eyes gleamed playfully. “Well, if that’s the case, then I get one more kiss. I need to go to a study group with some of my friends for the test tomorrow.” She reached up and gently gripped the collar of Lutecia’s shirt, causing the older woman to lift a brow.

“You’re getting pretty assertive lately,” Lutecia murmured, amused by the fact.
“Ah, you love me anyway.”
“Wouldn’t want you any other way.”

Lutecia sealed the words with a kiss.

At a relatively young age Lutecia had mastered the art of writing out her report while walking, if only because she hated being in an office filling out sheets of paper that, when worded right and thought through prior to being jotted down, only took a few minutes to complete. It was a talent that had earned her much eye-rolling from her peers, particularly Subaru, who was infamous for her hatred of reports and paperwork in general.

Due to this, the report was more or less completed by the time Lutecia reached the door to Hayate’s office, pausing for a moment to scribble down some quick finishing sentences. Relieved that she’d gotten it out of the way (and afterwards, now had plenty of time to hunt down that damn bottle of Aspirin that Megane was always misplacing), Lutecia knocked on the door, as was custom, before pushing it open and stepping inside. “General Yagami? It’s me, Alphine. I finished my report.”

Since she was still scanning over her report to make sure she hadn’t made any errors or missed any crucial information, the purple-haired woman failed to notice that the woman who glanced up at her entrance bore absolutely no physical resemblance to Yagami Hayate. Blue eyes gleamed in amusement and lips twitched, but the woman more famously known as the White Devil hadn’t forgotten her mission. “No need to be so formal, Lutecia-chan,” Takamachi Nanoha teased, giving in to the smile when Lutecia looked up. “You’re practically family, you know.”

All things considered, Lutecia had never thought that she would ever be afraid of Nanoha. She knew how powerful the Earth born mage was and respected her accordingly, but there was no forgetting the fact that she’d been best friends with Vivio for nine years now and had come to view Nanoha (and, consequently, Fate) as a surrogate mother.

However, she didn’t quite like that gleam in the brunette’s eyes.

And she and Vivio had ceased being just friends for awhile now.

Bracing herself for what was to come, Lutecia smiled slightly and closed the door behind her, placing her trust in Nanoha’s hands. “Nanoha-san. What a surprise. Vivio mentioned that you were still home with Fate-san.”
“Nyahahaha, I was, but Hayate-chan called and begged me to stop by and fill in for her for a few hours. Rossa’s sick as a dog right now, and she doesn’t want to leave him alone for a second.”

Following duty first, Lutecia walked across the room and handed her report to Nanoha; her fingers brushed the older woman’s and it took all of her willpower not to shudder. Strength seemed to radiate from the mage, and Lutecia found herself feeling very small and weak in comparison. Mentally, she wondered if now would be a good time to call on Garyuu.

In the past, Lutecia had had only two other relationships prior to Vivio, both boys she had known in middle school and high school. The first one had been when she’d been thirteen, and she’d genuinely liked the boy—but at thirteen she’d been young, and still struggling to make up for the childhood she’d missed out on, and the added weight of a relationship had hindered more than it had helped. The second one had been when she’d been sixteen and a little more capable of the responsibilities that dating brought; but that had been more of a “in lust” stage and less of a “in love” or even “in like” stage. In both relationships, she’d never met the parents.

And while relationship one had been “in like” and relationship two had been “in lust”, Lutecia already knew that her developing romance with Vivio was “in love”.

Oh, hell.

If she was going to die, she wanted to go out with some dignity.

“Nanoha-san.” Her soft voice made Nanoha glance up from the report she’d been flipping through. “Forgive me if I seem blunt, but I doubt you came here just to fill in for General Yagami.” Moving slowly, she backed up and sank down into a chair positioned in front of the desk, waiting for Nanoha’s reaction. Nanoha, for her part, studied the younger woman for a few minutes in silence before laughing quietly, pushing the report away. “You’ve always been smart and right to the point,” she murmured. “I like that about you, Lutecia-chan.”

A few more minutes passed in silence, as Nanoha obviously fished for the right words to say and Lutecia resisted the urge to start squirming. Deciding to return the favor and be blunt, Nanoha leaned back in her chair and studied Lutecia quietly before speaking. “Vivio’s in love with you, you know.”

Straight to the point, Lutecia mused. Well, she could appreciate the honesty. “I know,” she murmured.
“And are you willing to accept that?” Nanoha’s eyes met hers evenly. “Love is a difficult emotion, in all aspects.”

Lutecia gripped the arms of her chair to keep from fidgeting, but she held Nanoha’s gaze. “To be honest, Nanoha-san, I’ve never been in love before,” she admitted. “I won’t deny that I dated other people before Vivio, but I can’t deny that what I feel for her is different from what I felt in my previous relationships. I don’t know if it’s because I’ve known her for so long or what, but… she’s different.” She shrugged quietly. “I’m not sure what love is supposed to be, but I do know that I love her.”
“How much?” Nanoha was amazingly calm, all things considered.

There was a moment of silence; Lutecia exhaled quietly and leaned back in her chair, gazing up at the ceiling as she searched for a suitable way to put her feelings into words. Realizing that she couldn’t properly verbalize what she was feeling, she figured she had to try her best—she owed Vivio that much, at least. She met Nanoha’s gaze again.

“I want her to be happy, and I’ll do anything it takes to keep a smile on her face.” A smile flitted across her face, weary and amused. “I want to hold her and protect her from all the bad things in the world. I don’t want to hurt her. But I know she’s plenty strong enough without me there, and I definitely know I’ll hurt her. I won’t mean to, and I certainly don’t want to, but there’s no doubt in my mind that I eventually will.”

Nanoha would have doubted a declaration of undying love, a vow to never hurt Vivio and to go out of her way to prevent it. Hearing Lutecia’s words, she knew they were true, and honest; perhaps not the most eloquent admission of love, but it was truer than most she’d heard in her lifetime. After a moment, she rested her hands on the desk and confronted her largest issue with the whole thing.

“Vivio is fifteen. You, Lutecia-chan, are nineteen. She won’t be legal for at least another three years, tops.”

This time, Lutecia winced. She’d known that was going to come up; while four years wasn’t a major age difference, it was still significant enough to make a few people raise their brows. The Belkan summoner kept a perfectly straight face. “If it’s any consolation, Nanoha-san, I’m still a virgin.”

Nanoha’s lips twitched, but she didn’t falter. “Three years can be a very long time, Lutecia-chan,” she said. “Are you willing to wait?”

Something inside Lutecia snapped.

“Nanoha-san, if I was merely interested in taking Vivio for a sexual run through the night, I would have done it years ago.” Now in a bad mood, Lutecia scowled. “If it was just a matter of lust, I could throw caution to the wind and ravish her beyond her senses for a night and walk away like it meant nothing.” She narrowed her eyes. “You’ve known me for nine years, Nanoha-san, and while I respect the fact that you’re looking out for your daughter, if you ever imply that I’m willing to just use Vivio and toss her aside, I’ll take my chances against one of your Starlight Breakers.”

Nanoha studied the woman for a minute. Her whole body was tense and trembling, but from the urge to resist defending her love than any wrong against her pride. Her eyes all but snapped with fury, and her lips were tight and her hands clenched. Remembering a young, seventeen-year-old blonde with burgundy eyes that had faced Momoko the exact same way, she smiled.

“I believe you.” Nanoha’s voice was soft, but sure, and Lutecia gradually relaxed. “I can see it in your eyes; you mean everything you say. You’re a lot like Fate-chan was back then.” She smirked. “Vivio might not be willing to wait, you know.”

Lutecia remembered meeting with Vivio earlier. “I believe it,” she muttered. “But I’ll wait until she’s ready. Even if it’s not… legal… I won’t push her until she feels confident enough.”

Nodding, pleased with herself, Nanoha stood and walked calmly towards Lutecia, knocking her lightly on the shoulder. “You pass, Lutecia-chan,” she murmured. “For now, anyway. Keep her happy, or I’ll take you up on that Starlight Breaker.”

Lutecia grinned, feeling like a fool.

“I’m willing to face you anytime, Nanoha-san.”

Nanoha laughed.

“Nanoha-mama is in the office?!”

Sighing, Fate T. Harlaown grabbed Vivio by the back of her collar before she could bolt. She’d picked her daughter up from the study group at the library and had made the mistake of mentioning to her that Nanoha was filling in for Hayate. “Relax, Vivio,” she murmured. “Your mother is crazy sometimes, but she won’t do any serious damage.”

The pair was walking down the hall to get Nanoha, but now Vivio was feeling anxious. She loved her mother dearly, but was all too familiar with her overprotective ways. “Can’t I just check?” she pleaded, looking up at Fate. “Just peek in? Because if Nanoha-mama did anything to Cia—“
“What did I do?”

Nanoha’s amused voice made both mother and daughter look up, and Vivio whooped, tackling Lutecia, who was walking alongside the older woman. Amused, Lutecia wrapped an arm around Vivio’s waist and ruffled her hair. “Hey,” she greeted, only to be cut off mid greeting as Vivio pulled away and kissed her thoroughly.

After a few minutes, the two broke apart. “What was that for?” Lutecia asked dumbly, wondering where Vivio had learned to kiss like that.
“Hmm, no reason.” Vivio giggled and stepped back, grabbing Lutecia’s hand. “Come on, Erio-nii and Caro-nee were looking for you.”
“W-wait a minute, Vi—“

Watching her daughter pull Lutecia away (and noticing how Lutecia was putting up absolutely no fight whatsoever), Fate chuckled and turned to Nanoha, eyes sparkling. “Remind you of anyone we used to know?” she asked, taking Nanoha’s hand. Nanoha smiled and squeezed the blonde’s hand gently, watching the pair go with gentle eyes.

Unbidden the memory came to her, when she and Fate had been Vivio’s age, her dragging Fate pretty much anywhere and Fate not complaining at all.

“Maybe just a little.” She chuckled. “She’ll do for now.”

"No problem," Syn paused. "Wait, this isn't yours, this is addressed to someone named Hayate."

"That's my middle name." Vivio told her absently. All my bills and my apartment is under that name."

"Do you go by your middle name? to help prevent people from bothering you about your job?"

"Uh... Kind of." Vivio shook her head. "It's just... I don't know, I'd rather use that instead of my first name. I guess you could say it's so people won't be able to get my address."

Syn smirked. "You're paranoid. You've shown my many things you've done and I've never once seen anything but 'Eyes' on it." She thought about it a moment. "Hey, will anyone start bothering me?"

"I don't say your name at all, just that you're my girlfriend. Everyone at work respects that so I don't think anyone will know who you are unless you just come out and say that you're dating me."

"I don't really mind. Besides, I'm dating a popular porn star... that's kind of neat in a bizzare way. I can say I'm dating a star. Even if she has a weird job."

"It's not weird!" she pouted at Syn and stuck out her bottom lip cutely. "I told you, we were actually going to eat all that food on the set before people started throwing it around to have fun. It was just a fun shoot, not something we really do."

"Sure." Syn laughed and turned off to go into vivio's bank. "Okay then, Hayate, go make your deposit, I'm sitting in the car where it's warm."

"Meanie." The girl stuck out her tongue. "and I was going to buy you dinner too for letting me stay at your place." Syn opened her mouth to try and make it up but the blond was already out of the car, grinning at her before she jogged to the bank door. As soon as she got there she slipped and slid along some ice before reaching to grab the door handle to steady herself. Unfortunately for her, the door opened inward just as she was about to grasp it and she ended up falling forward, half inside and half outside of the building. 'I swear, that girl is cursed or something to make me keep falling on my ass." She was hjelped to her feet slowly and grinned shyly as the guy stared at her with wide eyes before asking for an autograph and if he could take a picture with her.

Syn: I know the real reason why you work in adult entertainment. You can't walk two steps without ending up flat on your back, anyway!

I like the bit at the end with the guy asking for a picture, too. The part about Vivio using a different name for her mail actually makes sense, and it's good to get some specific guidance to the extent she's been talking about Syn to help work out some of the apparent inconsistencies.

(I'm also glad you referenced the food fight from the end of the last chapter. That was too funny to let drop! I can definitely see it becoming a running gag with Syn: "So I went to visit her at work for the first time, to see how it was really just a job and really no different from any other work, and she came back covered in...")

On the down side, I understand that typos happen (Heaven knows, they happen to me all the time) and that these chapters haven't been subjected to proofreading or beta-review, but typos are becoming a lot more frequent since you first mentioned the laptop; not sure if it's a keyboard thing or if the text editor on it doesn't have spellcheck active (it should be "bizarre" rather than "bizzare," for example) or just a coincidence, but when you tune these chapters up for posting as a "real" fic, just make sure that you pay closer attention to the technical parts. On the other hand, I had no real problem with the "I swear..." part, except that I'm not sure why Vivio blames Syn other than proximity or the distraction factor. I mean, Vi's been falling on her face since she was just out of the cloning tank...

A/N: This is RadiantBeam's fault, really. It usually is. She posted a short over at the AnimeSuki forums in her LuteciaxVivio series in which some guy tried to pick up Lutecia, and I responded with a line with Nanoha saying "And Fate-chan finally got me to accept this relationship!" So RadiantBeam asked "How did Fate get her to do that?"

No, that wasn't my answer. Really, you're all pervs.

Anyway, then she wrote the fourth story in her series, "Daddy's Little Girl." And in doing it she managed to dodge BOTH of my Nanoha-Fandom Pet Peeves, both of which were easy set-ups for a story like that. So I gave in and said I'd write the answer to the question.

Then it grew up into a full-length one-shot instead of an omake segment.

So if next week's chapter of Kannazuki no Shimai is late...you can blame HER!

"Nanoha, what's bothering you?"

The TSAB's Ace of Aces blinked.

"Huh? What makes you think that?"

Fate T. Harlaown folded her arms across her chest, She'd been Nanoha's friend since forever, her lover since nearly forever, and her wife over a dozen years. She knew when something was bugging the brunette.

"It's been three months since I was last on-planet, our daughter has gone off to school, the bedroom door is locked for double measure, and yet I'm still wearing my shirt. Either I'm no longer attractive to you since I hit the big three-oh--"

"Fate-chan!" Nanoha immediately started protesting.

"--or you're worried about something important." She fluffed her long blonde hair, which she wore free of its usual ribbon. "My ego says that it's the latter."

The flippancy dropped from her voice and she patted the bed beside her.

"Sit down and tell me about it, why don't you? Even if I can't help, at least I can listen so you don't have to keep it all inside."

"No, I--"

She stopped, broke off, then sighed.

"All right." Nanoha dropped onto the bed. "I just didn't want to interrupt your homecoming, but I guess I went ahead and did that without meaning to, anyway."

"We're here to help each other out, right?" Fate encouraged. She started to rub Nanoha's shoulders, which were tight with tension.

"It's...about Vivio."

"Vivio? Did somethin happen?" A spark of worry kicked up in Fate's lower belly at the mention of their daughter.

"No...nothing new, at least. It's just..." Nanoha clenched her hands into fists where they rested on her thighs. She then spun to face Fate, pulling free from Fate's hands, her blue eyes wide, searching, and a little scared. "How can you accept this, Fate-chan? How can you be so calm about Vivio going out with Lutecia-chan?"

"That's what's bothering you?"

Nanoha nodded.

"Did something happen while I was off-planet?" Fate asked at once. This time Nanoha shook her head.

"N-no. I mean...I don't think so. They go on dates and things, though I don't think it's gone past kissing...and Vivio hasn't acted like anything bad happened or said anything..."

Fate let out her breath. She hadn't expected such a thing; if anything it would be Vivio that pushed the shy, reserved Lutecia Alphine to move the relationship forward. Even so, Nanoha's obvious concern had made her worry for a moment.

"So what's wrong, then? It can't be that Vivio is with another girl, since you never hesitated about that with us, and they've been friends for years and Lutecia's never treated Vivio badly..."

"She's four years older, Fate-chan! Vivio's only fifteen, and Lutecia-chan's nearly an adult. We were nineteen when we adopted Vivio!"

"Four years isn't that much. Ten years from now if they're still together it won't matter at all. And Vivio loves her. She's loved her for years. You know that Lutecia was her first crush but she never moved on to anyone else."

"I...I know, but...love is different at fifteen and nineteen. It is, it can't help but be." She let out a huge sigh. "Whenever they're together, I get scared for Vivio, and I want to just rush in and rip them apart from each other, and I know that I can't do that, and so I end up being unable to say anything at all, and that just puts me right back where I started..." She broke off, then made a little sound deep in the back of her throat. Her next words came out as half laughter, half sob. "Fate-chan, I'm no good at waiting and worrying. I want to do something, to act, to fix things and I don't know what or how or--"

"Nanoha," Fate said gently. She cupped her beloved's cheek with her palm. "Nanoha, look at me."

Nanoha sniffled a little, but met Fate's gaze, blue to red.

"You have to talk to her," Fate said.

"But Vivio won't--"

"No. You have to talk to Lutecia. Seriously talk to her. Like Lindy did."

"Lindy?" Nanoha was puzzled fro a moment, and then her eyes widened in remembrance.

Fate T. Harlaown was as happy a thirteen-year-old girl as there was on the planet, she was sure. She was in love! Better than that, she'd finally worked up the courage to confess her feelings and they'd been accepted! She'd been so scared that something would go wrong, that Nanoha would be repulsed or offended, or if not that then that she might not return Fate's feelings and that either way it would ruin their friendship, but she'd gathered her courage in both hands and let fly. And Nanoha had said yes!

A knock on her room's open door cut through the pink, fluffy bliss.

"Hey, Fate, c'mon. You're going to want to see this."

"Chrono-niichan?" Her brother, nineteen, lean, and dark-haired, stood casually in the doorway, but his face was serious. "What is it?"

"Nanoha stopped by to see you, but Mom grabbed her first. They're going to take tea in the living room. Any guesses what they'll be talking about?"

Fate sat bolt upright in her bed.

"Hold it!" Chrono cut her off before she could rush out of the room. "You've got to promise to stay quiet no matter what, okay? If Mom finds out I told you she'll ship me off to Mid-Childa without benefit of a ship!"

"No, she wouldn't," Fate said. She knew Chrono was just using hyperbole, but she felt the need to say it anyway. Lindy Harlaown was Fate's adoptive mother and Fate refused to hear even joking remarks about exaggerated maternal wrath. She'd had too much of dealing with the real thing from Precia Testarossa to tolerate such remarks about Lindy.


"Okay, true, but she'd get mad and then she'd be all disappointed in me, so you still have to promise."

Fate took a deep breath. She had an idea it would be hard, but she could grit her teeth and endure hardship. That and magic use were about the only things Precia had taught her.

"Okay, I promise."

"Come on."

Chrono led her down the hall out onto the landing that overlooked the living room. They were in a back corner off to the side of Lindy and Nanoha, who faced each other across the coffee table, so they could watch without being seen.

"Would you like a cup of tea, Nanoha?" Lindy offered.

"Yes, ma'am."

Lindy poured green tea for both of them, passed a cup to Nanoha, then added sugar and milk to her own. Over the years Nanoha had gotten used to Lindy's habit, but Fate knew it still weirded her out. Lindy had acclimatized so well to life in Japan that she was considering it as her full-time residence when she retired, but every so often she showed off little quirks that pointed out that she was an honest-to-goodness, from-another-world alien.

They sipped their tea, and then Lindy spoke again.

"I understand that congratulations are in order, Nanoha."

"Pardon me?"

"Fate tells me that the two of you are dating now."

Nanoha blushed bright red.

"Um, that is--"

"Oh, isn't it true?"

"No--I mean yes--I mean we are, but it's just--"

"To hear me say it so bluntly isn't so easy?" Lindy drank more tea, giving Nanoha a chance to collect herself.

Nanoha nodded.


"Yes, ma'am."

Fate wanted to dart downstairs and offer Nanoha her support, but restrained herself.

"Do...do you not approve, Admiral Lindy?"

Lindy didn't answer at once, her silence prompting Nanoha to elaborate, which she did.

"I mean, I know you can't have expected Fate-chan to fall in love with a girl, and..."

Lindy shook her head.

"No, I don't disapprove of that. Mid-Childans don't make a point of such things. And you're quite wrong. I fully expected Fate to fall in love with a girl. I've been expecting this talk between us for four years now."

Fate flinched in surprise, barely able to suppress a gasp.

"You have?"

"Fate loves you, Nanoha. She's loved you since she met you when you were nine. You were 'best friends' to her only so long as it took for her body to catch up to her heart. So I've been expecting the topic to come up sooner or later. What I wasn't sure of were your feelings. You're very close to that Yuuno Scrya boy, after all. My son has always believed the two of you would make an excellent couple."

Fate shot a surprised glance up at Chrono, who just shrugged.

"I like Yuuno-kun very much," Nanoha said in a small voice. "He'll always be my very important friend. But he isn't Fate-chan!"

"No, he isn't." Lindy sipped more tea. "Yuuno is much stronger than Fate."

"Fate-chan's a very strong person!" Nanoha sprang to her defense.

"Generally, yes. About you, no."

"W-what do you mean?" Nanoha said, but the look on her face suggested that she already had at least some idea. She'd never been a particularly good liar.

"You were the first person to show love to Fate. Her mother hated her, thought of her as nothing but a tool to retrieve the life of her biological daughter. Arf genuinely cares for her, but as a familiar is inherently subservient to Fate and so can't really be strong in her place. You, on the other hand, stood up for her at once and never let go. You fought hard, you risked your life, you disobeyed my orders, and even battled directly with Fate herself, all for her sake. You had no obligations to her, no ties or responsibilities, and yet you stood up and gave her your hand. Fate had done nothing since she was created but try to win love from Precia Testarossa, and then you stepped in and gave it to her. And it wasn't generalized or impersonal; you valued Fate for Fate, you cared about her sadness, you hurt because she hurt, it was her face you wanted to see smile."

"Then why--?"

"Fate is terribly dependent on you, Nanoha. You might not have understood that when you were nine, but I think you're starting to now. It's not as serious as it once was, but make no mistake, she will always look to you first for approval and affection. That is a very, very dangerous amount of power to be giving a person, particularly one's love."

Lindy set her cup down and fixed Nanoha with a look that left no room for turning away.

"I want you to look at your feelings very hard, Nanoha. Do you genuinely love Fate as a girlfriend? Or is this just a crush? Do you care for her as a friend and are looking for an easy, safe way to experiment with being 'in love' with someone you know will never hurt you?

"And if you are serious, then again how serious are you? If your other friends and classmates turn against you because of this, will you stand by Fate? What if your parents object? You thought I might, so what about them. Will you risk fighting with your family if they won't stand for you being with Fate?

"If that's not the case, then I want you to break it off with Fate now. If you can't be what she needs you to be, Nanoha, then it's best she accept it now before you hurt her too badly for her to bear."

Trembling, Fate almost bolted to her feet and would have, promise or no, had Chrono's hand not caught her by the shoulder. This wasn't fair to Nanoha! How could she be expected to make such a declaration?

Nanoha, however, did not flinch.

She set her nearly-full cup down sharply, nearly sloshing tea over the lip.

"Lindy-san," she declared firmly. "I can't make promises for two years or five years or ten years from now. But! I can absolutely say that my feelings for Fate-chan right now are completely serious. This isn't something I said just because I didn't want to hurt Fate-chan or on a sudden whim! I've felt these feelings for her growing for more than a year, but I didn't say anything because I didn't want to hurt her or make her suffer the weight of that choice. I'm not going to give up on her or be pushed aside just because it's hard, because Fate-chan is the one I love!"

Fate's eyes brimmed over with sudden tears. Nanoha had returned her confession earnestly, but this fierce defense was something different. Her vision wasn't so clouded as to miss Lindy's smile, though.

"Good! I approve of your relationship with my daughter."

Chrono had to pull Fate back to keep her from bouncing up over the railing to thank Lindy.

"You were watching that?" Nanoha exclaimed. "I never knew that!"

Fate smiled.

"I have a feeling that Lindy-mama had Chrono bring me on purpose, so that she could talk to me without really talking to me to express her concerns, and so I could hear your response."

Nanoha nodded.

"You're probably right. You Harlaowns are sneaky like that."

"Well, you're a Harlaown by marriage, now, so you can learn from us. Seriously, though, talk to Lutecia, not as an angry mother but woman-to-woman. Be honest with her. We both know her and what kind of person she is; I think it'll help her, too, to get things out in the open. And I'm sure it'll make it easier for you to talk to Vivio. She's still fifteen and needs you to be the clear, adult thinker."

Nanoha nodded.

"You're right, Fate-chan!" She leaned over, gave Fate a quick hug of thanks and hopped to her feet. She'd already taken the first step towards the door when Fate stopped her by grabbing the hem of her skirt.

"Fate-chan?"

"It can wait, dear."

"But Vivio--"

"Isn't the one with the problem. You are. Or rather, we are."

"We? But you..." It sunk in after a few seconds. "Oh. Well, I suppose I wouldn't be much of a magical-girl heroine if I ran off to take care of my own selfish concerns when the woman I love still needs me." She gave Fate her best White Devil smile, then hopped up on the bed astride Fate's lap.

I can edit it once or twice during my contract but this really outlines my upcoming work. The less I have on here, the less money I will bring in. I need to be lenient with it.”

Syn nodded and looked at the list and the check marks next to the words. “Um, what's this mean?” She pointed and got a small giggle along with the answer. “Oh, okay...” she fidgeted in her seat.

“Are you uncomfortable?”

“... A little but not bad. I'm just... you know, saying that my girlfriend will be doing this stuff. It's kind of weird more than being upset.”

Vivio nodded in understanding. “Would you feel more comfortable with it if you saw me doing it?” She got blinked at. “I have my videos, I can show them to you. You watched a few didn't you?”

“Just your solo scenes and webcam recordings.” Syn gave her a light lopsided smile. “I'm comfortable with it, just still weird to me. Anyway, let's see... Strip clubs?”

“Like I was at the other night.”

“... Okay, what's 'advertising' consist of?”

“Being recorded using things for new items or wearing something for a photo shoot. Like if a company released a new line of fetish clothing they would ask me to model in it. That will more than likely be a sex scene that's photographed, just so you know.”

“You're okay with that?”

Vivio shrugged. “Part of the job. No difference in that and being filmed in video.”

“Okay, I guess that's true...What's this mean?” She pointed to another line.

“I said no, so don't worry about it.” Vivio stuck out her tongue and got a giggle.

“You're so calm and easy going about this...”

“I hope you will be later on as well.”

“... What's away 'entertaining'?”

“If I go on the road somewhere to meet some important people, I would 'service' them sexually.”

“Is that legal?”

“That's why it's called servicing. It implied bringing them drinks, talking, entertaining and the like, but you really know what it means.”

“Basically it means they'll send you to seal deals? You're okay with that?”

“I will entertain them, it doesn't mean I will do sexual things. If I'm advertising a new sex toy and they want to watch me use it, I don't mind. I'll say no if I don't want to do something... I'll probably be wearing nothing or sexy lingerie though. That okay?”

“Well, I trust your judgment...” Her words trailed off as she thought about what she just said. “Yeah... Yeah, you know what?”

“What?”

“I trust you.” Syn handed the papers back to Vivio. “Do what you do, I'll support you.”

Vivio looked at her for a few moments before she leaned forward and hugged her. “That's the best thing you could say to me.” She got and amused pat on the back and squeezed her one more time before pulling away. “Well then, is there anything you want to ask about?”

“What's different about this and what you do now?”

“Basically more work. I will go around promoting things, do more videos, guest star on other company's videos, and the like. I've already got almost three hundred subscribers to my webpage now, it went up dramatically since my last video.”

Syn nodded and could tell that her girlfriend was proud. “Congratulations.”

“Thank you. Ohhhh, so much to think about now.” Vivio quickly began flipping through the contents of the folder and signing her name to them. “I can't wait to get started!”

“You can't wait to have sex?”

Vivio stuck out her tongue. “Let me see your computer.” The request gained her Syn's laptop after a few moments of waiting for it to be brought to her. “Here, this is your user name and password to my website. I'll save it for you.”

Syn shook her head. “Why do I need that, I have the real thing here.” She wrapped her arms around Vivio and looked over her shoulder at the page. This time she didn't feel her stomach turn but instead felt a small sense of satisfaction that her girlfriend was doing so well in her life all of a sudden. “Hey...” Her arms tightened lightly and she nipped at Vivio's neck. “How about you give me some time right now?”

“Three hundred dollars for the first hour.” Vivio told her casually while closing the laptop. “Just kidding.” She kissed Syn's cheek. “Later, I need to do something first.”

“What?” The blue haired one frowned when Vivio stood up.

“Clean your apartment, it's a mess in here.” She went to the kitchen area and lifted up a plate laying on the counter, grimacing as long stands of left over food stuck it to the platter underneath it. “Where are your cleaning supplies?”

“Don't I have a say in this?” Syn countered her.

“No.” Vivio smiled and looked over at the girl walking to her. “Mou, Syn, you're still so touchy.” She blushed as hands slipped under her shirt and body made her take a few steps backwards to lean against the wall. “Ngghhnn... Let me clean first.”

“I'm jealous,” Syn whispered to her, trying to get the girl's pants unbuttoned. “They get to see you do their wildest dreams and all I got was a lap dance that drove me crazy all night long.”

“Mou, okay...” Vivio grabbed Syn's shoulders and pushed her back until she fell down onto her bed. “But we do it my way.” She smirked and turned on Syn's radio. The station was changed until she found a suitable song to dance to and she smiled at her eager looking girlfriend. “This is a special case, because I'm happy.” She informed her as her hips swayed to the music. “But since I'm working on my time off, you have to as well.”

“What do you mean?” Syn watched the blond move.

“You're cooking me dinner.” Slowly she pulled off her shirt and dropped it onto the floor to show a simple white bra. Syn's hands went up to touch her but were quickly and gently slapped away. “No touching until I say you can.” A cat like grin spread over her face as her already unbuttoned pants fell to the floor to show white stockings, garter belt, and panties. One hand went up behind her head and the other rested on her hip to pose. “Like?”

“Very.” Very breathed out as she was straddled and rubbed on. “Can I touch...?”

Vivio breathed into Syn's ear and spoke into it huskily, suddenly grinding her body against hers. “No...” She licked her earlobe and sucked on it, pinning Syn's hands to the bed.

Syn answered her phone quickly, flipping it open so the ring tone wouldn't wake up the girl sleeping on her bed. Although her treat had lasted the better part of half an hour, she felt rather flustered that she wasn't allowed to touch her not even once during it but at the same time knew that Vivio was just teasing her. “Hi mom,” she greeted the phone contently. “Hm? I'm not doing anything... No, Vivio is taking a nap, she stayed up really late. I'll have to talk quietly.” She paused and sat down next to her girlfriend, who was sleeping peacefully. “Thanksgiving? Sure I'll come. Never pass up free food that you don't have to cook... I don't think she is doing anything, no.” Syn smiled fondly. “I'd love to invite her to come over to meet you and dad.” Her hands threaded through the blond's hair and she had to repress a giggle when the girl didn't even stir from the motion. “Who else is going to be there?” Syn pulled the covers over Vivio's body so she wouldn't catch a cold. “Oh, some important people? Sounds neat, I'd like to meet them. What division are they in?” Syn smiled down at her girlfriend while listening. “Sixth mobile Division, what a bland name.” She laughed softly. “Go ahead and make plans for us to be there, I'll invite her when she wakes up.”

Vivio slowly sat up and rubbed her eyes, inhaling a pleasant scent through her nose. Syn had her back turned to the girl and was busy cooking, humming to herself as she stirred the contents of something that Vivio couldn't see. Red and green eyes looked around to find her earlier disregarded clothing during her lap dance and put them on as quietly as she could to avoid the embarrassment of having Syn see her naked again. Once covered she walked to the kitchen area and was smiled at. "Hey," Vivio yawned out the word before wrapping her arms around her girlfriend from behind. "How long did I sleep?"

"Almost three hours." Syn put a cover on her skillet and leaned back against Vivio's chest. "Hey, what are you doing for thanksgiving?"

"I have a shoot tonight for my webpage, but I can set it to automatically update on the day itself so nothing really."

"A Thanksgiving special?" Syn almost laughed. "What, are they going to stuff you or something?"

"Yes, with turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, salad-" She stopped her joking when Syn did start laughing at her. "But really, it's nothing big, shouldn't take more than an hour to shoot it."

"What are you going to do?"

"Want to come watch?" Vivio hugged her. "It may be a bit much, but you can meet some of my friends before we do the shoot."

"I'll go meet your friends, I don't know about watching." Syn patted Vivio's hands. "I'll watch the recording of it with you okay?"

"That's fine, you can stay in my dressing room while we shoot it, I have a TV in there." Vivio nodded to herself. "Oh, why did you ask anyway?"

"My mom and dad want to meet you." Syn gripped the skillet in front of herself with one hand and took the lid off with the other so she could flip the contents around. "I'd really like it if you came to my home for Thanksgiving?"

"Oh wow... okay, I'm a bit nervous though... who will be there? Am I going to meet all of your family?"

"No, just my parents and a few higher-ups from their work that they are friends with. Something about a gathering of friends that they haven't seen in a while and all that. I won't know them either so we can just stick together off to the side."

"Okay, that's good." Vivio kissed Syn's cheek. "When do we leave?"

"Tomorrow, so we can drive down there and be in time for dinner, then thanksgiving day after, stay that night, and come back. Is that too long?"

"No, I can go a while without updating my page since I'm doing that one tonight." She smiled happily. "I'm looking forward to it."

Syn looked around nervously as she was handed a guest ID card to walk around the studio with Vivio. "I feel weird," She whispered to her friend once they were away from the receptionist. "It's like everyone who looks at me wants to bend me over a table and go to town on me."

"As fun as that would be to watch, don't worry about it."

"Wait," Syn cut her off. "You'd like to see that?"

"Hm? Yes, that would be rather erotic." She stuck out her tongue at her friend, not positive if Syn was sure if she was serious or not. "But really, everyone here is professional. They don't need to skirt chase, their job is to have sex." She waved at some of her friends who were walking from a set.

Syn was still looking at her from the corner of her eyes. "Okay, if you say so... It's still a little creepy. Gah, I'm sorry that was rude."

"Syn doesn't think before speaking, I'm used to it by now." Vivio elbowed her playfully before opening the door that had her name on it. "Here's my dressing room. Short tour, there's my couch, my vanity, my shower, and my clothes."

The blue haired girl whistled lightly. "It's huge." The single room was indeed big enough for everything mentioned and still be comfortable to lounge in. "They treat everyone really nice here, huh?"

"Well, the normal ranked people don't have rooms, they just come here, do their thing, and leave."

"So since you're a star you have a room?"

"Well, I have paper work to do and-"

"Whoa, you have paperwork?" Syn blinked.

Vivio looked offended. "Of course! I'm under contract labor, I have to do all my own taxes, sign forms of release for the recordings, schedule my filmings, talk to people, sometimes we have employee cookouts so people gather in my dressing room to hang out in-"

"Okay, I get it." Syn rolled her eyes. "Forgive me for not knowing."

"Well that's why I asked you here." Vivio sniffed at her and crossed her arms.

"Yeah..." Syn sighed. "Sorry, it's just weird knowing that you're about to go and have sex with someone. I'm okay with it, but it's still a little awkward." Before she could go on a knock at their door made them pause. Vivio bid them to come in and before Syn could react, a small child ran past her and hugged Vivio's legs.

"Vivio!" The girl greeted happily as she was holstered up to be balanced on the older woman's hips.

Vivio smiled at the small red haired girl. "Why hello there, Lina."

"Lina!" a new voice coming into the room made everyone look to see a blond haired girl with crystal blue eyes. "Don't run off like that, and use your manors."

Lina pouted slightly. "Yes Mama."

Vivio walked over to the woman and grinned. "Hey Krissy, how're you?"

"Great, we're about to go to Mark's parent's for thanksgiving."

Vivio smiled and pulled Syn over to her with her free hand. "that sounds really wonderful Krissy, I'm going to my girlfriend's place this year. Syn, meet Krisslanza. Krissy, meet Syn."

Syn nodded at her. "Nice to meet you."

"Oh, Syn!" Krisslanza smiled brightly. "Vivio has told us so much about you, it's great to finally meet you!" The blue haired girl blinked. "Oh you are quite a cute little thing! Way to go Vivio!"

"Krissy!" Vivio scolded her, blushing brightly. "Don't tell her that, it's embarrassing." She glanced at Syn lightly and then averted her eyes. Lina decided that she wanted down at that moment so Vivio sat her down onto her feet.

"Hey everyone," A new voice made them look at the door once again, this time seeing a guy.

Krisslanza giggled. "Honey, meet Syn, she's the girl Vivio rants about being head over heels in love with all the time."

"KRISSY!"

Syn felt her lips turn up slightly and nodded at the man walking over to them as he reached down to pick up his daughter and smile brightly at the child. "Nice to meet you."

Vivio stood closer to Syn to introduce them. "Syn, this is Mark, he's the one I'm going to be filming with today."

"Oh." Syn nodded again and watched Mark talking with his daughter.

Krisslanza nodded to confirm it before turning to Vivio again. "Vivio, would you mind if I watched after Lina in your dressing room? The day care is closed for the thanksgiving weekend already and I need to get back to my job soon, I'm on my dinner break."

"Sure! Syn is going to be in here too so you can get to know each other." She looked at the still open door when someone poked his head in to speak with them.

"Guys, set two is ready. Eyes, please change into your outfit, it's on your vanity." With that the man left them once more to continue his rounds.

Mark waved at them after swapping his daughter back to her mother once more. "I'll see you then, Eyes." He left the three girls as well and closed the door behind him.

Vivio walked to her vanity and opened the box, pulling out a black skirt and a matching 'buisness woman' top. "Seems like I'm going for the secretary look today." She began changing clothes while Syn watched her curiously. "Are you positive you don't want to watch, Honey?"

Syn shook her head. "No thank you. You go do your thing and I'll be here when you get back." Vivio finished changing and hung up her casual clothes. On the way out she kissed Syn's cheek and smiled at her one last time before hurrying out of the room. Once the door was closed again the blue haired girl looked over at the mother/daughter combo sitting in front of the now turned on Television. "So, you known Vivio a while?"

Krisslanza nodded and left the channel on something her daughter would like. "I met her a few years ago while I was waiting on Mark to finish a scene. I was talking about how hard one of my college classes was after the shoot and she overheard me. After a while she offered her help with it because she seemed to know a lot about the subject. After that we ate lunch together and really hit it off. Poor thing was so scared about her new job and didn't know anything about it so I kind of explained how it worked. Although I'm not into the business, my husband is so I knew enough."

"Was it hard for you to accept it all?" Syn sat down next to her and looked down at the quiet child watching cartoons. "Sorry this must be weird."

"Oh no, you're going through the same thing I did." Krisslanza smiled at her happily. "No, it was really hard at first. But you have to separate work from home. I'm sure Vivio has talked to you about that?" She got a nod. "Mark loves me more than anyone else in the world." She fondly touched her wedding band. "His work doesn't mean anything, it's just what he does. Same with Vivio. Did you know she refused to work for almost a month when you two broke up?"

Syn flinched. "Really?"

"Mmhmm, she came to work to try to but she ended up staying in her dressing room crying. I talked to her a while to help her through it and she eventually got better. You have no idea how much she talks about you. Can't shut her up."

Syn felt a small smile tug at her lips. "That's interesting, what does she say?"

"How much you mean to her, the way you cook, how you always hug on her. That kind of thing."

Syn grinned at hearing that. "That's not too bad, I was worried she'd talk about our love life."

"Not Vivio, she's too reserved. Believe me, her friends pestered about it for a long time last time we all went out for a while. She was glowing red and just told them that you were really loving."

Syn felt her cheeks color slightly and looked away for a moment, eying the small child giggling at the television screen. "It's weird..."

"What is?"

"This is so different than what I thought, even after talking to her about it so much. I thought I knew everything there was about it, but I just keep learning more... I mean, you brought your child here to stay in Vivio's room while your husband is having sex with her right now. While they're doing that, we're talking as if we didn't just meet for the first time." She smiled softly. "I'm really relieved. Everything is just as she said it was. She loves me... this is just work."

"Mmhmm. A really weird concept, but once it clicks, it's simple." Krisslanza leaned back in the chair. "I wonder if they're almost done."

"Already!?" Syn looked at the clock and realized that they had been talking for almost two hours. Sure enough, just as she was about to comment on how fast the time went by, the door to the room opened and a messy Vivio walked in. Looking at her, Syn gaped at the sight. Her girlfriend was covered from head to foot with what looked like smeared mashed potatoes, corn, dressing, stuffing, bread crumbs, gravy, turkey, and egg salad. "What in the world happened to you!?"

Vivio gave her best grin ever. "I got stuffed."

"So what time are we going to leave tomorrow?" Vivio asked as she zipped her suitcase. After checking to make sure she had her laptop as well, she looked over at Syn and handed her the lighter bag to carry when she offered.

"Five in the morning. It takes a while to get there." Syn sighed out. "I'll have to fill up half way there." The two walked down the hallway together and took the elevator down to the lobby. "I'm glad you're going to be there to talk to me."

Vivio nodded and paused a moment to check her mail at the front desk. After getting a few envelopes, she walked with Syn and got into her car. "Let's see... most of this is just job offers and request... and bills. Open this for me please?" She offered Syn a letter. "do you mind if we swing by my bank before we go to your house?"

"No problem," Syn paused. "Wait, this isn't yours, this is addressed to someone named Hayate."

"That's my middle name." Vivio told her absently. All my bills and my apartment is under that name."

"Do you go by your middle name? to help prevent people from bothering you about your job?"

"Uh... Kind of." Vivio shook her head. "It's just... I don't know, I'd rather use that instead of my first name. I guess you could say it's so people won't be able to get my address."

Syn smirked. "You're paranoid. You've shown my many things you've done and I've never once seen anything but 'Eyes' on it." She thought about it a moment. "Hey, will anyone start bothering me?"

"I don't say your name at all, just that you're my girlfriend. Everyone at work respects that so I don't think anyone will know who you are unless you just come out and say that you're dating me."

"I don't really mind. Besides, I'm dating a popular porn star... that's kind of neat in a bizzare way. I can say I'm dating a star. Even if she has a weird job."

"It's not weird!" she pouted at Syn and stuck out her bottom lip cutely. "I told you, we were actually going to eat all that food on the set before people started throwing it around to have fun. It was just a fun shoot, not something we really do."

"Sure." Syn laughed and turned off to go into vivio's bank. "Okay then, Hayate, go make your deposit, I'm sitting in the car where it's warm."

"Meanie." The girl stuck out her tongue. "and I was going to buy you dinner too for letting me stay at your place." Syn opened her mouth to try and make it up but the blond was already out of the car, grinning at her before she jogged to the bank door. As soon as she got there she slipped and slid along some ice before reaching to grab the door handle to steady herself. Unfortunately for her, the door opened inward just as she was about to grasp it and she ended up falling forward, half inside and half outside of the building. 'I swear, that girl is cursed or something to make me keep falling on my ass." She was helped to her feet slowly and grinned shyly as the guy stared at her with wide eyes before asking for an autograph a picture with her.

Vivio groaned low in her throat as a sudden beeping sound interrupted her dream of eating a life sized marshmallow. Movement came in her arms when Syn pulled away lightly to lazily reach out and slam her hand down on the offending alarm clock. As the body moved, Vivio found a mouthful of Syn's hair being pulled from her. Coughing slightly, she reached up and ran her hand down between teh back of Syn's head and her mouth,pulling the rest of the strands away from herself. Before long, soft snoring sounds came again and she realized that her girlfriend had gone back to sleep with one arm still laying on the dresser on top of the now silent clock. Although tempted to sleep again, the blond slowly sat up and rubbed her eyes with one hand while shaking Syn slightly with the other. "Get up," she mumbled groggily.

Syn made an annoyed sound but still sat up as well, staring with blank eyes at the blankets around their waists. Vivio crawled around her to get out of the bed and stumbled to the bathroom. The lights made the one still in bed hold up a hand to block it from blinding her. She allowed herself a few more moments to wake up before finally getting out of bed and picking up yesterday's bluejeans to pull up her legs. The button was fastened and her extra long nightshirt with the words "This is my sexy lingerie" on it was tossed on the floor to cover the part of her carpet she could see. After raiding a drawer she put on a baby blue colored bra and fastened it just as Vivio came back into the main room of her apartment.

Vivio, now seemingly fully awake now, gave her girlfriend a peck to the cheek before she began changing into her clothes. "You know," the blond spoke softly as if to not disturb the quiet of the peaceful morning. "Waking up along with someone is really really nice."

"You said that before," Syn yawned when she tried to speak. "But yes, I think so too... you should stay with me more often."

Vivio tied the string on the front of her khaki pants and nodded. "You're welcome to stay with me too, when we get back in a few days. Where do your parents live anyway? I didn't even think to ask."

"A few miles from the capital." She paused a moment. "I wonder if Daddy knows your job."

Vivio grinned. "This is going to be interesting." She looked at her girlfriend a moment and then picked up her suitcase. "Ready?"

"Ready." Syn got her duffel bag and her car keys. "Let's go then."

A/N: This is RadiantBeam's fault, really. It usually is. She posted a short over at the AnimeSuki forums in her LuteciaxVivio series in which some guy tried to pick up Lutecia, and I responded with a line with Nanoha saying "And Fate-chan finally got me to accept this relationship!" So RadiantBeam asked "How did Fate get her to do that?"

No, that wasn't my answer. Really, you're all pervs.

Anyway, then she wrote the fourth story in her series, "Daddy's Little Girl." And in doing it she managed to dodge BOTH of my Nanoha-Fandom Pet Peeves, both of which were easy set-ups for a story like that. So I gave in and said I'd write the answer to the question.

Then it grew up into a full-length one-shot instead of an omake segment.

So if next week's chapter of Kannazuki no Shimai is late...you can blame HER!

"Nanoha, what's bothering you?"

The TSAB's Ace of Aces blinked.

"Huh? What makes you think that?"

Fate T. Harlaown folded her arms across her chest, She'd been Nanoha's friend since forever, her lover since nearly forever, and her wife over a dozen years. She knew when something was bugging the brunette.

"It's been three months since I was last on-planet, our daughter has gone off to school, the bedroom door is locked for double measure, and yet I'm still wearing my shirt. Either I'm no longer attractive to you since I hit the big three-oh--"

"Fate-chan!" Nanoha immediately started protesting.

"--or you're worried about something important." She fluffed her long blonde hair, which she wore free of its usual ribbon. "My ego says that it's the latter."

The flippancy dropped from her voice and she patted the bed beside her.

"Sit down and tell me about it, why don't you? Even if I can't help, at least I can listen so you don't have to keep it all inside."

"No, I--"

She stopped, broke off, then sighed.

"All right." Nanoha dropped onto the bed. "I just didn't want to interrupt your homecoming, but I guess I went ahead and did that without meaning to, anyway."

"We're here to help each other out, right?" Fate encouraged. She started to rub Nanoha's shoulders, which were tight with tension.

"It's...about Vivio."

"Vivio? Did somethin happen?" A spark of worry kicked up in Fate's lower belly at the mention of their daughter.

"No...nothing new, at least. It's just..." Nanoha clenched her hands into fists where they rested on her thighs. She then spun to face Fate, pulling free from Fate's hands, her blue eyes wide, searching, and a little scared. "How can you accept this, Fate-chan? How can you be so calm about Vivio going out with Lutecia-chan?"

"That's what's bothering you?"

Nanoha nodded.

"Did something happen while I was off-planet?" Fate asked at once. This time Nanoha shook her head.

"N-no. I mean...I don't think so. They go on dates and things, though I don't think it's gone past kissing...and Vivio hasn't acted like anything bad happened or said anything..."

Fate let out her breath. She hadn't expected such a thing; if anything it would be Vivio that pushed the shy, reserved Lutecia Alphine to move the relationship forward. Even so, Nanoha's obvious concern had made her worry for a moment.

"So what's wrong, then? It can't be that Vivio is with another girl, since you never hesitated about that with us, and they've been friends for years and Lutecia's never treated Vivio badly..."

"She's four years older, Fate-chan! Vivio's only fifteen, and Lutecia-chan's nearly an adult. We were nineteen when we adopted Vivio!"

"Four years isn't that much. Ten years from now if they're still together it won't matter at all. And Vivio loves her. She's loved her for years. You know that Lutecia was her first crush but she never moved on to anyone else."

"I...I know, but...love is different at fifteen and nineteen. It is, it can't help but be." She let out a huge sigh. "Whenever they're together, I get scared for Vivio, and I want to just rush in and rip them apart from each other, and I know that I can't do that, and so I end up being unable to say anything at all, and that just puts me right back where I started..." She broke off, then made a little sound deep in the back of her throat. Her next words came out as half laughter, half sob. "Fate-chan, I'm no good at waiting and worrying. I want to do something, to act, to fix things and I don't know what or how or--"

"Nanoha," Fate said gently. She cupped her beloved's cheek with her palm. "Nanoha, look at me."

Nanoha sniffled a little, but met Fate's gaze, blue to red.

"You have to talk to her," Fate said.

"But Vivio won't--"

"No. You have to talk to Lutecia. Seriously talk to her. Like Lindy did."

"Lindy?" Nanoha was puzzled fro a moment, and then her eyes widened in remembrance.

Fate T. Harlaown was as happy a thirteen-year-old girl as there was on the planet, she was sure. She was in love! Better than that, she'd finally worked up the courage to confess her feelings and they'd been accepted! She'd been so scared that something would go wrong, that Nanoha would be repulsed or offended, or if not that then that she might not return Fate's feelings and that either way it would ruin their friendship, but she'd gathered her courage in both hands and let fly. And Nanoha had said yes!

A knock on her room's open door cut through the pink, fluffy bliss.

"Hey, Fate, c'mon. You're going to want to see this."

"Chrono-niichan?" Her brother, nineteen, lean, and dark-haired, stood casually in the doorway, but his face was serious. "What is it?"

"Nanoha stopped by to see you, but Mom grabbed her first. They're going to take tea in the living room. Any guesses what they'll be talking about?"

Fate sat bolt upright in her bed.

"Hold it!" Chrono cut her off before she could rush out of the room. "You've got to promise to stay quiet no matter what, okay? If Mom finds out I told you she'll ship me off to Mid-Childa without benefit of a ship!"

"No, she wouldn't," Fate said. She knew Chrono was just using hyperbole, but she felt the need to say it anyway. Lindy Harlaown was Fate's adoptive mother and Fate refused to hear even joking remarks about exaggerated maternal wrath. She'd had too much of dealing with the real thing from Precia Testarossa to tolerate such remarks about Lindy.


"Okay, true, but she'd get mad and then she'd be all disappointed in me, so you still have to promise."

Fate took a deep breath. She had an idea it would be hard, but she could grit her teeth and endure hardship. That and magic use were about the only things Precia had taught her.

"Okay, I promise."

"Come on."

Chrono led her down the hall out onto the landing that overlooked the living room. They were in a back corner off to the side of Lindy and Nanoha, who faced each other across the coffee table, so they could watch without being seen.

"Would you like a cup of tea, Nanoha?" Lindy offered.

"Yes, ma'am."

Lindy poured green tea for both of them, passed a cup to Nanoha, then added sugar and milk to her own. Over the years Nanoha had gotten used to Lindy's habit, but Fate knew it still weirded her out. Lindy had acclimatized so well to life in Japan that she was considering it as her full-time residence when she retired, but every so often she showed off little quirks that pointed out that she was an honest-to-goodness, from-another-world alien.

They sipped their tea, and then Lindy spoke again.

"I understand that congratulations are in order, Nanoha."

"Pardon me?"

"Fate tells me that the two of you are dating now."

Nanoha blushed bright red.

"Um, that is--"

"Oh, isn't it true?"

"No--I mean yes--I mean we are, but it's just--"

"To hear me say it so bluntly isn't so easy?" Lindy drank more tea, giving Nanoha a chance to collect herself.

Nanoha nodded.


"Yes, ma'am."

Fate wanted to dart downstairs and offer Nanoha her support, but restrained herself.

"Do...do you not approve, Admiral Lindy?"

Lindy didn't answer at once, her silence prompting Nanoha to elaborate, which she did.

"I mean, I know you can't have expected Fate-chan to fall in love with a girl, and..."

Lindy shook her head.

"You have?"

"Fate loves you, Nanoha. She's loved you since she met you when you were nine. You were 'best friends' to her only so long as it took for her body to catch up to her heart. So I've been expecting the topic to come up sooner or later. What I wasn't sure of were your feelings. You're very close to that Yuuno Scrya boy, after all. My son has always believed the two of you would make an excellent couple."

Fate shot a surprised glance up at Chrono, who just shrugged.

"I like Yuuno-kun very much," Nanoha said in a small voice. "He'll always be my very important friend. But he isn't Fate-chan!"

"No, he isn't." Lindy sipped more tea. "Yuuno is much stronger than Fate."

"Fate-chan's a very strong person!" Nanoha sprang to her defense.

"Generally, yes. About you, no."

"W-what do you mean?" Nanoha said, but the look on her face suggested that she already had at least some idea. She'd never been a particularly good liar.

"You were the first person to show love to Fate. Her mother hated her, thought of her as nothing but a tool to retrieve the life of her biological daughter. Arf genuinely cares for her, but as a familiar is inherently subservient to Fate and so can't really be strong in her place. You, on the other hand, stood up for her at once and never let go. You fought hard, you risked your life, you disobeyed my orders, and even battled directly with Fate herself, all for her sake. You had no obligations to her, no ties or responsibilities, and yet you stood up and gave her your hand. Fate had done nothing since she was created but try to win love from Precia Testarossa, and then you stepped in and gave it to her. And it wasn't generalized or impersonal; you valued Fate for Fate, you cared about her sadness, you hurt because she hurt, it was her face you wanted to see smile."

"Then why--?"

"Fate is terribly dependent on you, Nanoha. You might not have understood that when you were nine, but I think you're starting to now. It's not as serious as it once was, but make no mistake, she will always look to you first for approval and affection. That is a very, very dangerous amount of power to be giving a person, particularly one's love."

Lindy set her cup down and fixed Nanoha with a look that left no room for turning away.

"I want you to look at your feelings very hard, Nanoha. Do you genuinely love Fate as a girlfriend? Or is this just a crush? Do you care for her as a friend and are looking for an easy, safe way to experiment with being 'in love' with someone you know will never hurt you?

"And if you are serious, then again how serious are you? If your other friends and classmates turn against you because of this, will you stand by Fate? What if your parents object? You thought I might, so what about them. Will you risk fighting with your family if they won't stand for you being with Fate?

"If that's not the case, then I want you to break it off with Fate now. If you can't be what she needs you to be, Nanoha, then it's best she accept it now before you hurt her too badly for her to bear."

Trembling, Fate almost bolted to her feet and would have, promise or no, had Chrono's hand not caught her by the shoulder. This wasn't fair to Nanoha! How could she be expected to make such a declaration?

Nanoha, however, did not flinch.

She set her nearly-full cup down sharply, nearly sloshing tea over the lip.

"Lindy-san," she declared firmly. "I can't make promises for two years or five years or ten years from now. But! I can absolutely say that my feelings for Fate-chan right now are completely serious. This isn't something I said just because I didn't want to hurt Fate-chan or on a sudden whim! I've felt these feelings for her growing for more than a year, but I didn't say anything because I didn't want to hurt her or make her suffer the weight of that choice. I'm not going to give up on her or be pushed aside just because it's hard, because Fate-chan is the one I love!"

Fate's eyes brimmed over with sudden tears. Nanoha had returned her confession earnestly, but this fierce defense was something different. Her vision wasn't so clouded as to miss Lindy's smile, though.

"Good! I approve of your relationship with my daughter."

Chrono had to pull Fate back to keep her from bouncing up over the railing to thank Lindy.

"You were watching that?" Nanoha exclaimed. "I never knew that!"

Fate smiled.

"I have a feeling that Lindy-mama had Chrono bring me on purpose, so that she could talk to me without really talking to me to express her concerns, and so I could hear your response."

"You're probably right. You Harlaowns are sneaky like that."

"Well, you're a Harlaown by marriage, now, so you can learn from us. Seriously, though, talk to Lutecia, not as an angry mother but woman-to-woman. Be honest with her. We both know her and what kind of person she is; I think it'll help her, too, to get things out in the open. And I'm sure it'll make it easier for you to talk to Vivio. She's still fifteen and needs you to be the clear, adult thinker."

Nanoha nodded.

"You're right, Fate-chan!" She leaned over, gave Fate a quick hug of thanks and hopped to her feet. She'd already taken the first step towards the door when Fate stopped her by grabbing the hem of her skirt.

"Fate-chan?"

"It can wait, dear."

"But Vivio--"

"Isn't the one with the problem. You are. Or rather, we are."

"We? But you..." It sunk in after a few seconds. "Oh. Well, I suppose I wouldn't be much of a magical-girl heroine if I ran off to take care of my own selfish concerns when the woman I love still needs me." She gave Fate her best White Devil smile, then hopped up on the bed astride Fate's lap.

You sure are arrogant, thinking you know why I post. I read fics because I like them. I pointed out the typo because that's the only problem I saw, at the time. I was wondering if you were going to pick on that.
I could post a review of your fic along with pointing out all the typos, but I couldn't bear to read it after all the errors in the first sentence alone. You proclaimed you couldn't have more than 3 or 4 errors in your whole fic, yet there were 4 6 in the very first sentence of the latest chapter. And number 7 was in the very next sentence.

She posted a short over at the AnimeSuki forums in her LuteciaxVivio series in which some guy tried to pick up Lutecia, and I responded with a line with Nanoha saying "And Fate-chan finally got me to accept this relationship!" So RadiantBeam asked "How did Fate get her to do that?"

No, that wasn't my answer. Really, you're all pervs.

Anyway, then she wrote the fourth story in her series, "Daddy's Little Girl." And in doing it she managed to dodge BOTH of my Nanoha-Fandom Pet Peeves, both of which were easy set-ups for a story like that. So I gave in and said I'd write the answer to the question.

Then it grew up into a full-length one-shot instead of an omake segment.

So if next week's chapter of Kannazuki no Shimai is late...you can blame HER!

"Nanoha, what's bothering you?"

The TSAB's Ace of Aces blinked.

"Huh? What makes you think that?"

Fate T. Harlaown folded her arms across her chest, She'd been Nanoha's friend since forever, her lover since nearly forever, and her wife over a dozen years. She knew when something was bugging the brunette.

"It's been three months since I was last on-planet, our daughter has gone off to school, the bedroom door is locked for double measure, and yet I'm still wearing my shirt. Either I'm no longer attractive to you since I hit the big three-oh--"

"Fate-chan!" Nanoha immediately started protesting.

"--or you're worried about something important." She fluffed her long blonde hair, which she wore free of its usual ribbon. "My ego says that it's the latter."

The flippancy dropped from her voice and she patted the bed beside her.

"Sit down and tell me about it, why don't you? Even if I can't help, at least I can listen so you don't have to keep it all inside."

"No, I--"

She stopped, broke off, then sighed.

"All right." Nanoha dropped onto the bed. "I just didn't want to interrupt your homecoming, but I guess I went ahead and did that without meaning to, anyway."

"We're here to help each other out, right?" Fate encouraged. She started to rub Nanoha's shoulders, which were tight with tension.

"It's...about Vivio."

"Vivio? Did somethin happen?" A spark of worry kicked up in Fate's lower belly at the mention of their daughter.

"No...nothing new, at least. It's just..." Nanoha clenched her hands into fists where they rested on her thighs. She then spun to face Fate, pulling free from Fate's hands, her blue eyes wide, searching, and a little scared. "How can you accept this, Fate-chan? How can you be so calm about Vivio going out with Lutecia-chan?"

"That's what's bothering you?"

Nanoha nodded.

"Did something happen while I was off-planet?" Fate asked at once. This time Nanoha shook her head.

"N-no. I mean...I don't think so. They go on dates and things, though I don't think it's gone past kissing...and Vivio hasn't acted like anything bad happened or said anything..."

Fate let out her breath. She hadn't expected such a thing; if anything it would be Vivio that pushed the shy, reserved Lutecia Alphine to move the relationship forward. Even so, Nanoha's obvious concern had made her worry for a moment.

"So what's wrong, then? It can't be that Vivio is with another girl, since you never hesitated about that with us, and they've been friends for years and Lutecia's never treated Vivio badly..."

"She's four years older, Fate-chan! Vivio's only fifteen, and Lutecia-chan's nearly an adult. We were nineteen when we adopted Vivio!"

"Four years isn't that much. Ten years from now if they're still together it won't matter at all. And Vivio loves her. She's loved her for years. You know that Lutecia was her first crush but she never moved on to anyone else."

"I...I know, but...love is different at fifteen and nineteen. It is, it can't help but be." She let out a huge sigh. "Whenever they're together, I get scared for Vivio, and I want to just rush in and rip them apart from each other, and I know that I can't do that, and so I end up being unable to say anything at all, and that just puts me right back where I started..." She broke off, then made a little sound deep in the back of her throat. Her next words came out as half laughter, half sob. "Fate-chan, I'm no good at waiting and worrying. I want to do something, to act, to fix things and I don't know what or how or--"

"Nanoha," Fate said gently. She cupped her beloved's cheek with her palm. "Nanoha, look at me."

Nanoha sniffled a little, but met Fate's gaze, blue to red.

"You have to talk to her," Fate said.

"But Vivio won't--"

"No. You have to talk to Lutecia. Seriously talk to her. Like Lindy did."

"Lindy?" Nanoha was puzzled fro a moment, and then her eyes widened in remembrance.

Fate T. Harlaown was as happy a thirteen-year-old girl as there was on the planet, she was sure. She was in love! Better than that, she'd finally worked up the courage to confess her feelings and they'd been accepted! She'd been so scared that something would go wrong, that Nanoha would be repulsed or offended, or if not that then that she might not return Fate's feelings and that either way it would ruin their friendship, but she'd gathered her courage in both hands and let fly. And Nanoha had said yes!

A knock on her room's open door cut through the pink, fluffy bliss.

"Hey, Fate, c'mon. You're going to want to see this."

"Chrono-niichan?" Her brother, nineteen, lean, and dark-haired, stood casually in the doorway, but his face was serious. "What is it?"

"Nanoha stopped by to see you, but Mom grabbed her first. They're going to take tea in the living room. Any guesses what they'll be talking about?"

Fate sat bolt upright in her bed.

"Hold it!" Chrono cut her off before she could rush out of the room. "You've got to promise to stay quiet no matter what, okay? If Mom finds out I told you she'll ship me off to Mid-Childa without benefit of a ship!"

"No, she wouldn't," Fate said. She knew Chrono was just using hyperbole, but she felt the need to say it anyway. Lindy Harlaown was Fate's adoptive mother and Fate refused to hear even joking remarks about exaggerated maternal wrath. She'd had too much of dealing with the real thing from Precia Testarossa to tolerate such remarks about Lindy.


"Okay, true, but she'd get mad and then she'd be all disappointed in me, so you still have to promise."

Fate took a deep breath. She had an idea it would be hard, but she could grit her teeth and endure hardship. That and magic use were about the only things Precia had taught her.

"Okay, I promise."

"Come on."

Chrono led her down the hall out onto the landing that overlooked the living room. They were in a back corner off to the side of Lindy and Nanoha, who faced each other across the coffee table, so they could watch without being seen.

"Would you like a cup of tea, Nanoha?" Lindy offered.

"Yes, ma'am."

Lindy poured green tea for both of them, passed a cup to Nanoha, then added sugar and milk to her own. Over the years Nanoha had gotten used to Lindy's habit, but Fate knew it still weirded her out. Lindy had acclimatized so well to life in Japan that she was considering it as her full-time residence when she retired, but every so often she showed off little quirks that pointed out that she was an honest-to-goodness, from-another-world alien.

They sipped their tea, and then Lindy spoke again.

"I understand that congratulations are in order, Nanoha."

"Pardon me?"

"Fate tells me that the two of you are dating now."

Nanoha blushed bright red.

"Um, that is--"

"Oh, isn't it true?"

"No--I mean yes--I mean we are, but it's just--"

"To hear me say it so bluntly isn't so easy?" Lindy drank more tea, giving Nanoha a chance to collect herself.

Nanoha nodded.


"Yes, ma'am."

Fate wanted to dart downstairs and offer Nanoha her support, but restrained herself.

"Do...do you not approve, Admiral Lindy?"

Lindy didn't answer at once, her silence prompting Nanoha to elaborate, which she did.

"I mean, I know you can't have expected Fate-chan to fall in love with a girl, and..."

Woah, Lindy had quite the talk. I really love all the parallels between Nanoha and Fate's relationship with Vivio and Lutecia's. Yup, Nanoha is sooo the dad in the relationship. Over-protective fathers mothers are scary.

I'm writing a story. So, I am not familiar enough with the military high command structure of Nanoha Strikers. I understand there's this, but there's so much at the top I might have to fill in. I could do general a,b,c or some such. I'm not sure. I'm also not sure about promoting and frankly I find breaking up the team too sudden for the setting not to mention no fun at all.

The other thing is, more immediately, if there was a mage whom specialized in stealth tactics rendering him undetectable, how would the high command act in response to the unknown threat? The mage is more phantom of the opera than anything, so power level is a non issue. That's it for now, thank you.
