I know what you mean by HQ crops. I do em sometimes to just to save work or if I believe there is nothing I need to do to make it look better than I just crop it and use it but sometimes I do alot of editing to make my signatures as well. I've only made... 1 or 2 original signatures(original drawing and backgrounds) so far though. I should do more if time allows.

The current one I have took a decent amount of work, I'd say I spent about 30-40 minutes on it. I think I spent time on it because I like the character that much though-

8/10 for your Robot one. It reminds me of the character from Ratchet and Clank or other generic mini-robots. 9/10 if you made the robot and background on your own though.

Edit- Clearing up some misunderstanding

A bit of explanation of "M.O.M.O." That's actually the the code name for the character featured in my signature and she has no relations with the annoying MOMO from Xenosaga.

She is IMO the most fearsome/powerful woman in any manga/manwha I've read because she's a pseudo-human who's an ESP user and has the ability to make people's heads explode when she gets "slighty" annoyed. Getting her pissed off could very well mean the end of the entire world if not more. So ya, she's fearsome .

sakura-chan that is a beautiful picture, but I think you could've done a better job with the border, it's hardly visible 8.5/10

darkwave, I like the picture of that girl, the only thing that bothers me is that there just seems to be a lot of empty space in the middle. I would lower the light thingy down to slightly above eye level (her eye level) and get rid of the rest of her hair, other stuff above which is really nothing but black spot. somewhat like this:

i always like lexanders cause he has wikid variety - 9/10. Slades is really good as well. 9/10

anyway noone probably understands my signature. It all started in a boring english lesson and my friend drew a picture of kakashi. But the hair was funny at the top like 3 triangles ^^^ so i carried these all the way round to make a lions mane. And then i said "lion kakashi". After two months of brainstorming i modifed the name to "kakashi lion".

so there you go the explanation for my sig

however it may explain your name, it is REALLY old. 3/10 cuz its been on your siggy for ~ 3 ~6 months.

yes Lex you're right about the quality being so so. It doesn't bother me the least though. I suspect the only people who will ever notice are a few , detail-oriented, Photoshop-aptituded bastards every here and there.
