Well if you didn't notice he gor killed in his fight with Sasuke, be it suicide or not but he had failed.

Now let's look at Kakuzu and Hidan who killed one of the jounin's... And Kakuzu is about 100 years old, are you really implying that Deidara had more action than Kakuzu?

If their target was same Gaara but not main character, they would do so much more than Deidara.

Hidan might have been the weakest member concerning fighting power and here we are again measuring strength and weakness by raw fighting power.
Hidan and Kakuzu were the strongest team in Akatsuki. Even Pain admitted that they would not have captured so many hosts in such a short period of time without Hidan and Kakuzu. Hidan's attacks were efficient, even if they did not stand out.

I think it's hard to tell which one is the weakest, but I wouldn't say the one-hit-killer is the one.

All of the akatsuki are imba, with the exception of Konan, who is at least very skilled. So among these freaks, she's the weakest...right?

Let us give Konan a chance in the upcomming filler episodes, before we judge her. Maybe she'll be the one capturing the six-tailed.

Konan is still alive and even though she had left Akatsuki, it doesn't mean that she will never come back. I can actually see her return and do something.

Although I guess she will die in the end then.

She has lost nearly everything – her family, her friends... she has to built up Amegakura and make it a good village, strong enough to be respected by other villages. I don't know if she wants to keep the image of "Pain the God" vital or rule the village as a Kage, but as long as Naruto does not have to escape Konoha and find a hideout, I don't see Konan back in the story all too soon.

I'll agree with AF, even though she did survive, she's the type to disappear into the distance and barely show up ever again. So, since she got the least covering among the Akatsuki members, she is currently the weakest. As for her normal skills, she got paper bunshins and can fly, few ninjas do that...

The fish - kisame
The first time kakashi was gonna beat his ass in seconds if not Itachi
Then the second time Jiraiya was gonna beat his ass in seconds if not Itachi
Then Gai owned him (even if it was only 30 % of his power, which i found ridiculous), Itachi wasn't there to save his ass
Then he fight equal with the other fish (suigetsu), instead of beat him ...
Theeeeeeeeeeeen he fight with hachibi and get killed, Itachi wasn't there to save his head.
Sooooooo kisame (for me) is the weakest of all.

And i don't even want to think what kisame would be without the sword
May be akatsuki invited samehada to join and not kisame, kisame was only a "+"
