Looking for something to keep me in the chair.
Right now I could really use some help finding something to keep me in my chair. :z been looking around and I just can't find what im craveing. I'm looking for some suggestions as to something similar to a few I have enjoyed recently..
Being: -Texhnolyze -Kemonozume -Gantz -Phantom ~Requiem for the Phantom~ Looking for something Dark doesn't have to be completely dark but I don't really care to much for alot of comedy I like it pretty serious and a reason for what all is going on even if it's not entirely told I don't want it to be a pointless random turn of events. I like romance to be invovled even if it's not a very big part just for it to be there if not thats fine I'm mainly just looking for something to pull me in. I also really enjoyed Higurashi series. Any help would be appreciated all suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance! |

Darker than Black - If you've not seen this already, this suits what you're asking for quite well.
Shikabane Hime - Also has a dark feel about... some small amounts of comedy but overall a very interesting/serious watch. GunGrave - Highly interesting underworld themed anime which also contains the romance elements you might be looking for. Ergo Proxy - Post-apocalyptic utopian as well as dystopian setting. You could say it has quite a philosophical touch to it. Contains romance elements at some point. Might be a bit slow paced for some. All the above are fairly dark themed with some ruthless killing/violence.

I'd suggest Monster. Surprisingly for a series of its length, it's gripping for almost the entire story. It's also definitely on the dark side, with a villain who has a stated goal of being the last one alive at the end of the world. He has no special abilities besides charisma and intelligence. Most of the tension in Monster is psychological rather than action-based.
