Well..... the time is almost upon us, folks. It's been a long and grueling wait, but 4 weeks of patience is finally going to pay off in just a few days' time....!

Anyways, I recently re-read the Jaya arc again and was pleasantly reminded of why it's one of my top favorite arcs in the series. Not because of the reveal of a bunch of the series' major players like Whitebeard, Dofla, Kuma, etc. (though that certainly does add to the arc's awesomeness), but simply because I feel that arc most strongly represents one of OP's major themes: Following your dreams, and making them come true as long as you have the strength and ambition to do so. I loved how we had Luffy encounter both believers and skeptics of dreams, and how one of the biggest dreamers gave him a pep talk after (willingly) getting humiliated by the loudest skeptic. How a fellow dreamer was willing to help Luffy and co. achieve the seemingly impossible task of travelling to an island in the sky, and how the skeptics punished him for his beliefs. And finally, the oh so great satisfaction of seeing Luffy put the aforementioned loudest skeptic in his place with a single punch. The fact that Buggy appears in this storyline was a great plus, as well. Oh, how I'd love for Oda to handle a future storyline as tastefully as he did with the Jaya arc.....

BTW, rereading this arc also reaffirms for me how awesome a character Montblanc Cricket is. That short scuffle he had with Sanji was badass.

Is it too early to start getting hyped for the next chapter?

Indeed, the Jaya arc was one of the best ones in One Piece. And the ever-present theme of freedom, ambition and following your dreams is what makes One Piece the best manga/anime/series/story, dare I say, in the whole world!

I sometimes wonder if future historians will use One Piece as an example of our culture, kind of like we use the "Jason and the Argonauts" story today. That would be very cool...

At least is what i think after seeing what happen in the fight between luffy and the gorgon sisters... he displayed king's haki many were knockedout but the one that had the statue of margarett, even if she was not knocked out, it was enough to scare her to the point of drop the statue as Luffy demanded... So even if its not enough to a KO... it may certainly make the oponent think twice before act...

I think that's kind of what they were aiming for with this. (in part) Whatever arc they will give us it can rely on previous knowledge about the series.

At the same time, of course, they can make it a good jump-in point for new readers. But I doubt that they'd want to do that. This is OP, not DB Z/GT.

Do you guys think the characters are going to look radically different from the way they do now?

I'm expecting to see (at least the ones that aren't already dead or adults) to at least look more grown up, taller, or filled out.

I wonder if Chopper would actually look different as he got older.

I'm expecting the biggest changes in Luffy and Usopp myself. (which may not be that much)

Chopper, I have no clue. Sanji and Zoro already look really mature. Brook, Franky, and Robin are mature. (Brook is a skeleton. lol)

Nami is kind of between, too, but I don't expect much of a change from her, well except for one obvious thing. >_< lol

I'm really hoping they do, lufffy would be awesome to look abit more ace-ish

if he starts to look like dragon it be weird, this is all hopeful wishing though.

It might have been because he had given his word to be part of the crew and therefore he views it as his duty. i.e. he was merely doing his duty and fulfilling his given word and it had nothing to do with his bond/feelings/liking of luffy or the crew.

We have seen several times where zorro has been stubbornly adamant about doing the "right" thing and doing things according to honour even if it meant leaving a crewmate (ussop) or leaving the crew (davy jones game). His actions protecting the crew and doing all he did for them might just be due to his overpowering sense of responsibility and honouring of his words.

If luffy's appearance changes, I have an odd feeling it maybe like the appearance had had in Romance Dawn version 1 pilot (a one shot). (the one which nami was called silk). If you read that at the end of the manga, they picture luffy after he's aged some with some caption saying that he had went on to become a famous pirate.

On another note, we're on the last leg. One piece is back this week.

Only those with iron will and enourmous dedication can avoid lure of spoilers and reserve all suprises to chapter release itself.

Many will swear to not fall to the lure of spoilers but only a few survives addtional 24 hours to the actual chapter release.

I really really want to avoid spoilers and enjoy complete chapter at Thursday but its so so hard...its just a couple a clicks and you could partially relieve your pain in spoilers but its never worth it either...

But we have survived this far, one more day wont kill us...or will it?

I think that reading the spoilers would ruin this chapter.

I've never read spoilers, there's no reason for me to give in now.

I know for sure I won't be able to resist the spoilers, especially since there is a good chance we'll get them early (tomorrow). Meanwhile...

Spoiler:
