Well I'm actually amazed we are actually going to make it. Didn't think they could seriously compress things enough, but here we are.

Sadly no choice but to make it a fairly quick training session for Ganta. Crow definitely knows how to take things to extremes with crushing those candies and leaving the last one hanging. Definitely puts some pressure on accomplishing the goal. Still pretty much asked for a serious training session and Senji obliged. Finally some effort put by Ganta to grow and get stronger.

Nice save by Minatsuki in the hallway. Just a good reminder that she's plenty strong herself. If she actually fought seriously from the start probably would have won, but had too much fun playing around. The undertakers were a different story. No reason to take her time there.

Do feel sorry for Owl. Hard to imagine anyone staying sane after seeing such a thing. Not only was his wife murdered, but his unborn child was put up in a display case like that. Hiding his true memories and thoughts away was probably the only way not to completely break.

But now things getting pretty crazy. Ganta is low on blood and even with his new shot he can't have much to work with. Owl is just gone which leaves a serious threat to both sides.

I flipping love Mockingbird Sawashiro Miyuki is a great choice for him. I know its the scar marks but he kinda reminds of me Stein from Sou Eater.

If Mockingbird can actually add AND REMOVE his own collar (and he apparently only keeps it on for appearances around the other Deadmen), then he is clearly high up, so high up that he can do literally whatever he wants. Then he says that he died for a while. If he's the strongest of the Deadmen, then what does he mean?

Plenty of questions about Mockingbird that's for sure. Good catch with apparently Toto being able to put it on or take it off whenever. Then you have the creepy licking blood thing....

Plenty to wonder about. Someone that vanished for quite some time although being the strongest Deadman. Knows about Shirou being the Wretched Egg it appears. Also can wonder about the line about being at the lowest tier now....

Sadly aren't really going to get much answers with the series wrapping up soon.

Quite possibly the creepiest thing about Mockingbird is his eyes. In the manga, you never really know his eye color, but they're this really sickly yellow (not an "Edward Elric" yellow, but a "withered sunflower" yellow). Also, you ever notice how they're literally the largest eyes of an character in the entire series? Still, that DeadPin is just so fashionable.

Holy... who directed episode 11? The directing and animation quality were outstanding, clearly on a whole other level than anything we've seen in the series so far. If only every episode could have been half as good as this one.

They did a fantastic job highlighting Toto's creepiness. For once, most of the changes made in this episode were for the better. Kind of shame we didn't get to see Minatsuki flashing her panties to Crow though

Just so we're clear, we weren't even supposed to see Toto be creepy until next season (but we did, thanks to Manglobe-based world warping). Besides, Minatsuki being herself around Crow really wouldn't fit with the mood that's been building over the last few episodes. The time for cute and stupid stuff has pretty much come and gone once Scar Chain's operation began. Honestly, I think that scene with Toto is only in there to make viewers remember him as a seriously odd continuing character for the 2nd season (which you know there will be).

Spoiler for Obligatory Manga Comparison and Tasty Tidbits:

1. What are you talking about? Makina was in ep 10 for a precious 3 minutes.

2. Of course, the manga actually explains why this WASN'T easy for Ganta (he is just 14, after all). It's actually rather easy for humans to break the sound barrier for air. They use a whip. Crow's Invisible Black technique is very similar, except that instead of the tip of the "whip" creating the sonic boom, its actually the entire edge of the "blade." Ganta's "bullets" are a bit harder to work with. He has to treat his blood as an actual fluid running through a converging nozzle. By tuning the flow (i.e. the velocity at which he fires his "bullets"), Ganta can create supersonic flow on the outside end of the nozzle while having subsonic flow on the inside end. Of course, achieving this BY HAND is no small feat. You have to really crank up the velocity at which the fluid enters the nozzle (by decreasing the pressure and mass flow rate), and you have to carefully control the area of the nozzle nexus, not to mention that you have to make a near perfect circle for the nozzle to make aiming accurate, AND you have to overcome the back pressure that arises from forming the sonic boom. While the manga doesn't cover ALL of that, it does at least give you the gist of basic fluid mechanics with the nozzle. This may be a bare bones adaptation of Arc 1, but give credit where credit is due. This IS rocket science for middle schoolers, after all.

3. Manglobe will pull off concluding the Scar Chain Arc in 1 more episode, but the story is far FAR from finished. At the current rate of chapters (and since you can feel the end approaching), I would suspect that a 24 (maybe 26) episode 2nd season would be enough to finish the story. However, given that studios seem to LOVE 12 episode seasons lately, you'll likely see 3 seasons total for Deadman Wonderland. And to those who think that more episodes WON'T be released, we'll let the disc and merchandise sales decide that one. It's very difficult for studios to turn down money these days (just look at all the moe pandering in the last 3 years. I rest my case.)

Fortunately for Ganta, size isn't everything.

I'm not a Ganta-hater - though even I admit the accelerated pacing of the anime has eliminated a lot of the empathy-building character drama in the manga - but I hope folks cut him some slack. At the very least he admits he's been a wimp - most wuss characters don't even do that.

Liked how funny Shiro was when she was mad at Ganta and when she said she didn't need his help. So Crow's raining helped Ganta break the sound barrier with his gun, too bad he's having anemia now. Nice to see Minatsuki again. Guess Shiro forgave him quickly, thought Ganta would snapped when the undertaker girl took out Shiro. Wow Owl has lost it completely. Why is this only 12 eps
