I'm pretty sure they knew 100% it's her.
By going down it would not free her from responsibility. She still would get punished.

They would know its a Titan Shifter if they tortured her and she started regenerating all her injuries. Chop of her limbs and they would grow back. Unless its something she can control (her healing power) and she would rather die than reveal herself.

BTW, they didn't cut too much out of Annie's speech imo, they just integrated into the filler. Although I liked Marlow better in the manga

It's not just about that.. You have to appreciate armins brilliance; he specifically says 'they're going to kill eren' - thats the kicker. Annie needs eren, for whatever reason, and this is her last chance to get him. Otherwise in my mind I'm certain she wouldn't have agreed. Since it's implied she knew what was going on, especially with the ring tells me that she was planning on using the oppurtunity to capture eren. In fact, I would say as much as the survey corps are trying to catch her, shes trying to catch eren. The fact that she was crying as the FT, and the whole episode, leads me to believe that she is finally buckling under the pressure of living the double life. Still, shes a super powered super elite secret agent, so in the end she decides to laugh at the absurdity of the situation, and go all guns blazing.

There's another thing that people are not giving enough attention to. Annie is clearly not you're stereotypical villain (although I think shes an awesome villain), her speech clearly indicates that there is a good reason to do this. Plus, she's also clearly a highly trained agent, with a specific set of mission objectives. So that begs the question; whats really going on within the walls? Who is really running the show? What is it that they're doing thats so evil that they have to destroy the walls and massacre everyone in it? These questions lead me to believe that she really really does not want to be caught.

Jean should cosplay as Eren more, maybe he'll win Mikasa's heart that way.

Yeah, totally agree... this mystery is what really keeps me watching. I hope the end reveal will be worth it!

The lack of Levi is pretty disappointing. It's like the writers noted the guy was so OP he could go Sonic the Hedgehog on Annie again and beat her in five seconds so they gave him cramps or a broken ankle.

He probably will sooner or later, along with Erwin. Levi is basically a Mikasa without an Eren, or a Mikasa whose Eren has died already, and Armin is shaping up to grow up to be a cuter Erwin, so the older mentor versions have to die heroic or not so heroic deaths at some point.

In comparison to many strong/cold male charas, he is actually pretty good. At least he definitely gives a damn about others.
