Buddy Complex
Anime by Sunrise, airing this Winter, saw the trailer posted on GAF, looks like Sunrise trademarked the name a month ago and that's the only news so far until this trailer came out.
Will edit in staff, synopsis, cast etc once translated. |

How is studio 8 female oriented? Their most famose works are Mai Hime, My Otome, Sora wo Kakeru Shoujo, Kyoukaisenjou no Horizon, Accel World and Love Live. Most of it are action series with mechas

I'd have much preferred Accel World or Horizon to something like this though... He said "female cast"... |

At first, I thought this was at least hinted back all the way March for the "old Studio 8 staff" mostly, hence the joke with a new Xenoglossia. Now I don't know what to think because the staff looked rather mixed ... While I don't think there's a season 3 for Horizon anyway, I don't think there's much interference if they're still thinking about that since they definitely have enough staff. In the intro page they did say this is from the Horizon + Love Live group?team?; in addition to Love Live season 2 being April and I honestly don't think a mech anime from Sunrise would run for less than 1 season (despite split cour being a good possibility) there are probably a ton of schedule overlap anyway. EDIT: Well seems like from twitter lots of Horizon's staff's on this as well, so there's that. Also goddamn it Sunrise, why couldn't you use the smartphone characters as main (think these are the leads for the Dengeki Maou comic version too)?!?!? Chloe and Yuria look so much better than Hina (Setsuko anyone?). I guess picked up for the Kawahara Tomohiro and Katou Tatsuya for now, but the mech design's seriously mediocre/subpar, and something seems off about the color scheme (which I also think is better in the game PV). I think still have to watch the anime first, because Horizon's first PV's color seemed off at the time too. In the end though, more robo/mech robo anime from Sunrise is always welcomed (except for AGE). Last edited by Kunagisa; 2013-12-01 at 16:13. Reason: Moo |

VVV is also not a huge seller - just pretty decent - so a movie or 3rd season was never a sure thing.
BC looks like pretty garden-variety Sunrise McMecha based on the PV. But then who knew VVV was going to be as batshit as it turned out to be...
