After 2 episodes I think it should be obvious that this show is not exactly going for historical accuracy? I mean if we're doing this, Mitsuhide should be older, Himiko shouldn't even be there, where are Nobunaga's other siblings, and so on and so forth... Toyotomi Hideyoshi is the name by which the guy is most well-known, so that's what he's called here.

Really liked the 2nd episode. Especially Hideyoshi's pervert moments with Jeanne. Is it somehow a reference to High School DxD (and seiyu in-joke)?

liking it so far - the animation is especially good in my opinion what a fun way to plan with historical figures.

Nice mecha fight ^^
That Nobunaga sure has a talent for fighting.
His hair style looks a lot like Takuto's from Star Driver.
It's nice to see that unusual style again.
Leonardo has a knack for stirring up trouble..
Jeanne & Nobunaga, what an unimaginable duo.
It's so weird seeing so many famous historical/legendary people in one anime.
Hideyoshi must be that one comic relief character... what an idiot.
Jeanne is giving off an all-boobs-no-brains-vibe; at least for now.
Very interesting and promising anime.

OK. Thanks to everyone who answered my question about her. I figured she was Ichihime at first. She looks like she might be a fun character anyway.

I like how Monkey kept aiming for Jeanne's two Stars there... I guess we got our token perv.

I already ship Mitsu/Ichihime for now.

Show seems to just be an explosion of name-dropping

Regardless of time/country

Before I get ahead of myself, this is a different show from Nobunagun right? I thought they were like two shows in the same universe.

Jeanne as beautiful as always.

But pretending to be a man, now? Bad choice, Nobu.

Another good episode. The situation develops, as do the characters.

The way the scene was directed, it appeared to be suggesting love between Nobu and his sister. The card alone could suggest that Jeanne could gain control of the situation by becoming Nobu's lover, but that's not how the images flowed.

That's not what I'm getting. She boldly set out for the planet. She's now being sensibly cautious. She pulled a knife. I'm a bit worried that she will just anoint the Saviour King and meekly follow him, but I'm expecting her to (a) have her own ideas and (b) eventually take part in the battles, as strategist at least.

I'm a huge fan of the historical Julius Caesar, but I expect I will be against him here, lol.

@ginger02 -- Yes, this show has nothing whatsoever to do with Nobunagun, except that both make use of the same historical personage.

Nobunaga the Fool and Nobunagun are different shows set in completely different universes. Beyond a penchant for reincarnating real-life and mythical historical figures and wild armament fighting, they have nothing in common.

Edit: ninja'd.

Truth to be told, the first episodes were just exposition. We were just being introduced character after character. Eventually, when the plot gets going, I wouldn't exclude this could become the anime of the season.

Hilarious. It's like the writers took every single famous historical figure in the West and crammed them all into a single super-condensed setting. The best part is that they don't care about it one bit. Perhaps this is what Western history looks like from the Japanese lens?

So yeah. I'll be watching this as a dramatic retelling of Japanese history with giant robots and space ships. Well, I don't know much about Japanese history, but this might convince to do my research eventually.
