Episode 349 - Kakashi ANBU (filler): A Mask That Hides The Heart
Finally, finally...a good filler like this wasn't made for a long time!
Fourth Hokage's (Minato) was elected and Hiruzen made a good choice. Who else was good to be a Hokage? When Danzo wanted Orochimaru to be Hokage, I was like: The fu**, no way! Now, Kakashi is an ANBU...cool to see him with a mask.

This filler arc isn't bad at all.
I must admit it's actually interesting.
There seems to be a little bit of everyone in it.
I felt sorry for sad, sad young Kakashi...
It was nice to see Naruto's dad too.
Been a while since his parents were shown.
It's always nice to learn more about them.
Danzo & Orochimaru always seem to make me frown though..
Hope they'll show more of Kakashi as ANBU.

it's like Kakashi said... -> he was one step from becoming like Obito and Nagato

-the dude lost his father to suicide after begin hate by whole village including the people he save because he choose to save their live instead of completing the mission
-his close friend/teammate die to save his life(from his pov)
-used his friend eye kill same person he want him to protect at all cost
-don't to mention that person was his other close friend/teammate who he gone in enemy territory to save
-it's like trying everything you could till you lose it yet you failed at every corner....

this episdoe make me remember what he said to Sasuke in part one:
can't remember it exactly but it was something like this
"you can't kill everyone who close to me to force me understanding your hatred because they are already been killed"
(family dead = check
best friends dead = check
girl he might like dead = check)

this filler has been better than some of the canon arcs.

it would be interesting if danzo had a byakugan just to change things up a little

yea i think it started at the end of the 4th episode ago.
i like these episodes more than most of the shinobi war ones and more than some of the weaker arcs like the new team 7 and team hebi arcs

Watched them, they were pretty good.

I guess they have more license to delve into potential manga territory now that the manga is winding down.

I'd always wished fillers dealt with this kind of stuff. The Akatsuki stuff could potentially *interfere* with manga material (had they done this kind of arc earlier), but they still had many interesting avenues to take filler material.

I would have loved to see an entire filler arc based on Itachi's chuunin exam lol (Pwning everyone in the forest of death), or even some random missions involving the sannin during the ninja war (etc)

The last scene of the most recent episode was really really good. Where kakashi is putting on his anbu uniform, and then looks into the mirror as he puts on the mask and you can see the sharingan shining through one eye hole. Very nice.

yea it was pretty epic. it felt like canon actually.

and yea, i always wished for the stuff you are saying in fillers. even the chuunin exams for the k11. i also wanted to see every akatsuki member joining akatsuki and every bijou getting captured. they almost pulled this off showing the 4 and 6 tails getting captured. that was the start of these fillers having the right idea

i'm sure we will get more fillers in the future so all this stuff might actually happen. it's just too bad we had to be subjected to such awful meaningless arcs in the past

I'm loving this Kakashi anime only arc. It really is just as good as canon... wait it is canon it is his back story, so it's pretty great.

Poor Kakashi... Rin's voice was scary.

YES! this...this canon vs non-canon stuff confuses me. its back story on a main character that doesnt interfere or alter the timeline as it was been told so how is it not canon? either way it would be nice if we get the flashback in a flashback and get to see Sakumo in action.

it just means it didn't happen in the manga. canon means the manga material

Episode 350 - Minato's Death
Good episode as the last one. Minato died fighting the Masked Man...It was great if the battle between Yamato and Kakashi was extended (always wanted to see a battle between these 2)!

Spoiler for plot:

Guess we're off to filler world.
Naruto's dad as hokage and Kakashi in ANBU.
Well, it's not bad to sometimes revisit the past.
As long as it's not too long and makes us forget the main plot.
This was a sad episode.
They finally showed the Kyuubi incident.
I so don't like Danzo.
He's really good at turning people to his side when they're vulnerable.
Such a bastard.

So we get to see the part of this episode dealing with the Kyuubi attack a third time in the future from Obito's perspective if they follow the manga great /s

It was a good bit the first time but reusing it over and over is boring added scene's in this episode not withstanding.

Also someone has to do a mashup with all 3 young Kakashi voices

There's just some things that don't add up, I mean how is Obito an adult during the whole kyuubi ordeal. while the everyone else in the same age group are properly 14 yr olds.

Supposedly for years, Kishimoto has been trying to get Kakashi more spotlight and backstory. He gets bullied by editors a lot and is on a strict time and pacing scale. So for what it's worth, this could very well be some of the content that Kishimoto has been trying to get to us all along. I actually made an account just state this. I don't like the anime that much anymore, they butcher the canon stuff compared to the manga. I do like the past few episodes though, all of the flashback episodes have been fantastic.

You haven't met the DBZ/GT/Movie Crowd, huh? They tend to overreact about what is and isn't canon even after the creator made BoG and had Bills state that there are 12 canon universes thus fans cannot really say what is and isn't canon anymore because of that statement.

Besides, we all know that this is going to get into the Wiki as Anime-Only stuff gets on there as well. Which says a lot since those guys at the Naruto run Wiki are VERY strict on what can and cannot be put in the wiki that they're maintaining.

So as far as I'm concerned this is canon(As it was approved to air) even if some want to get specific and say "Anime canon" to make them feel superior for reading the Manga.
